Avery ducked an incoming blow. From the corner of her eyes, she saw Callister glaring at her. They didn’t get along. Callister hated her for taking her spot, the one spot she could give anything, even if it meant standing aside and letting her friend of a minute suffer.

The two women strode to each other. The wolf who had been training with Avery released a happy sigh. She halted in front of Callister, “you are slacking, missy.” She spoke.

It was Avery’s work for everyone to train. As much as she wanted to inform everyone, “scratch each other to death.” She couldn’t. She was the best, or at least Beta Garrick had informed her.

Trouble was, every morning, she woke up with newly found self-doubts, she wasn’t sure anymore if she was there because Garrick saw her as a threat for asking too many or simply, she was good at fighting.

Staring at Callister with her smirk, she wanted to rile her up, to see whether she would beat her ass up or be beaten.
