CALLISTA

I woke up to the sterile smell of antiseptic. Blinking against the harsh lights of the infirmary, I tried to sit up, only to feel a gentle but firm hand on my shoulder. I realized I was no longer wearing my black dress, it's now some kind of white hospital pants and a shirt.

"Easy there," a soothing voice said. I turned my head to see a kind-faced, middle aged woman Doctor adjusting my IV. "You've had quite a shock. Just rest for now."

"Thank you...Doctor." I mumbled lowly. She gave me a warm smile.

The memories of the evening immediately crashed back like a bucket of ice poured on my head and I felt my heart race. The face of horror and shock in Bethany's face came back to my memory, "Cepheus," I whispered, needing to know he was alright, that everything was alright.

"He's here, Alpha Female" the Doctor who's name is Sandra in her tag, assured me, nodding towards the door. "He hasn't left your side since you were brought in." Being called Alpha Female felt even more st

Every two years, the packs all over North, South, East and West, gather for the Mating Ceremony held in our pack located in the North, The Loropoulus pack. Considering we are the biggest of all the packs and holds the Northern Territory, the Ceremony is a big deal. Our pack get to host the event for everyone else. We have a huge arena that spans the whole of our territory, with plenty enough space for the crowd, a great meal and entertainment facilities for the wolves, a place to groom themselves and a place where they can meet people that they like. Everyone looks excited as different packs arrived, The Everinel pack of the South, Omigordion pack of the East, Silverius pack of West. These are all smaller packs, compare to our thousands of pack members, the count of the other packs are less than two hundred. Once their mate is found and united, the mates from other packs who are mated to ours can choose to stay in our pack or leave with their mates, sometimes it takes them days to d

  • Alpha Cepheus   Chapter 2

CALLISTA I turned around to leave only to bumped into something hard and steady, I almost stumble but got a hold of my balance. A big shadow loomed over me, covering the sun ray that shines towards me. I looked up and met in contact with no other than Alpha Cepheus. My eyes widened in shock. How did he get there!? Holy cinnamon. He looked straight to me, observing me as if I'm some specimen under his radar, I almost squirm under his gaze. "A‐alpha.." I finally muttered softly, acknowledging his presence. It's the first time I ever got so close to him, it's true that his presence is so powerful you can feel it, just standing near him gave me goosebumps, It made me bow my head immediately. "You. What's your name?" He asked, his voice deep, commanding and sexy. Sexy? Where did that came from!? A disapproving growl vibrated through him, as if he can read my thoughts, which I'm pretty sure he can't. We don't communicate like that, like what humans think we do. My thoug

  • Alpha Cepheus   Chapter 3

ALPHA CEPHEUS The Mating Ceremony finally started. In the clearing of our vast forest, the newly eighteen-year-old females eagerly awaited their transformation into their wolves and the chance to meet their mates. Everyone was dressed in white, symbolizing the purity and new beginnings this day represented. It was a pivotal moment for many, but for me, it was just another duty as Alpha. As the pack members shifted into their wolves, I stood on the stage, observing the scene. The Alphas of the other packs sat around me, discussing pack politics and alliances, but I was more interested in scanning the crowd. I had an unsettling feeling, a restless energy that I couldn't shake. I hoped this ceremony would bring some clarity. My gaze moved over the newly mated couples, their joy and connection evident in their eyes and actions. I felt a pang of something I rarely allowed myself to acknowledge—loneliness. At thirty, I was still mateless. Despite my power and influence, the Moon God

  • Alpha Cepheus   Chapter 4

The sun peeked through my window, and I forced myself out of bed. I took a quick shower, brush my teeth, and chose to wear a pair of Jeans and pink shirt with a flower design in the middle. I snorted, the shirt made me look like I'm forcing myself to wear a kid's shirt, it's too tight because of my chest, another day of being me. Looking at myself in the mirror, I see someone unremarkable. As a werewolf without the usual wolfish traits, I feel ordinary. Unlike the tall, slender women in our pack, I am quite different. I'm not slim or conventionally fit like them; instead, I've always had curves that made me insecure growing up-baby fat, long black hair, hazel brown eyes, and freckles. My breasts are too large, my hips too wide-everything about me feels oversized. I used to wish I were slim and tall, but I've long accepted that this is who I am. I don't stand out in the pack; at five foot two, it makes me wonder how the Alpha even noticed me in the first place. Right, he noticed me

Alpha Cepheus The encounter with Callista lingered in my mind long after she had left the packhouse. Her presence was like a fleeting shadow, always at the edge of my consciousness. I could sense her unease, her apprehension, and the fear she tried so hard to mask. It stirred something within me, a protectiveness I hadn't felt in years. Returning to my office, I found myself replaying the events of the previous night. I had been patrolling the borders, ensuring the safety of our territory, when I saw her in the forest. Her scent was unmistakable, a mix of fresh bread and wildflowers, different from any other. I had watched her from a distance, curious and drawn to her in a way I couldn't explain. When she ran, it was instinctive to follow, but I held back. The fear in her eyes had stopped me cold. "Alpha, you seem preoccupied," Beta Caxius observed as he entered my office, carrying another box of pastries. I sighed, leaning back in my chair. "It's nothing. Just a lot on my min

CALLISTA A cabin is being built beside our bakery. Pack members who are assigned to be workers worked on building the foundation of the cabin. "Who's cabin is it?" I asked gran, looking out the window, kneeding on doe I'll use for pastry. "I heard it belongs to Alpha Cepheus." "Say again Gran." "Dear child, the Alpha asked these men to build that cabin for him. He must really love our bakery he wants to be close to it." I paused my kneading and looked at Gran, her eyes twinkling with amusement. Alpha Cepheus was a name that carried weight and respect in our town. The idea of him living so close to our bakery was both thrilling and intimidating. "Alpha Cepheus?" I repeated, still processing the information. "But why would he want to live here, of all places?" Gran shrugged, her movements steady as she prepared more dough. "Who knows, dear? Maybe he enjoys the smell of fresh bread and pastries as much as the rest of us. Or perhaps he likes the tranquility of this par

CALLISTA I had to calm myself a couple of times, washing my face with cold water, I guess I will cook for the Alpha and I. I started moving in the kitchen, I will make a steak for both of us, he will probably be hungry when he return from his run. I want to do something for him. I immediately move and started cooking. The time I'm done with the steak and some mix veggies as side dish, I place the plates on the wooden table for both of us. This is makes it a dinner date. Our first date. The thought made me blush. I waited for him patiently, hoping he'll come back so we can atleast have dinner together. After a few moments of anxious waiting, I heard the sound of the door opening. Alpha Cepheus walked in, his hair slightly disheveled, and his eyes returned to their usual piercing blue. He took a deep breath, as if grounding himself, before his gaze met mine. "I'm sorry," he said, his voice low and sincere. "I didn't mean to leave so abruptly." "It's okay," I replied, mana

  • Alpha Cepheus   Chapter 8

CALLISTA The room fell silent, every eye turned towards me. I felt the weight of their gazes and the room seemed to shrink around me. My heart pounded in my chest, and I could barely breathe. Cepheus’s hand squeezed mine, grounding me. His confident smile and the warmth in his eyes told me that everything would be alright. Alpha Cepheus gently placed a hand on my back, his touch grounding me amidst the sudden whirlwind of attention. His words echoed in my mind, and the reality of what he'd just announced hit me like a tidal wave. I was now officially recognized as his mate, the Alpha Female of the pack. The murmurs of surprise and excitement among the pack members grew louder, and I felt my cheeks burn with a mixture of embarrassment and pride that Cepheus did not hesitate one bit to introduce me to the pack, knowing that I can't even shift. “Callista has been a part of our pack for some time now,” Cepheus continued, his voice steady and commanding. “She’s proven her love, kindnes
