Death wasn't supposed to be this gorgeous but mine was- Thalia Faux.
“ No, please, please don't do this” Thalia screamed as she tried to get away from the silver knife that was approaching her, however, her wrists that were tied by shifter resistant handcuffs made it impossible for her to run. She shook her head desperately trying to incite some sort of emotions in her tormentor but the latter didn't even flinch.
“ oh shut up” snapped Taryn sounding bored, raising the silver knife in her hand she glared at Thalia when the latter tried to get away from her “ you are such a wimp, it's just a cut, there is no need for you to scream like you are being chopped”
Yes, it was just a shallow cut but to Thalia’s whose entire body was covered in cut marks, it was sheer torture. Not to mention, Taryn was going to cut her skin with a silver knife, silver was dreadful to werewolves. Just the lightest touch and their skin would burn as if they were drowning in a sea of flames.
“Please not today, my injuries - the cuts from yesterday haven't healed. Please give me a night off just one night, just one” begged Thalia, she didn't want to bow her head but she had no choice her life was in the hands of Taryn and she could kill her, torment her and leave her almost dead as she wished. No one could care what Taryn do to her as long as long as she didn't kill her.
“ If I let you have a night off who will help heal our packmates? don't forget that the reason you can stay in this pack is all because of your blessed blood if not who would want an ugly freak with horrible curses engraved on her skin” tsked Taryn as she cast a disgusted glance at Thalia’s curse marks that covered her entire front and half of her face, that weird black script was really scary and disgusting to look at. Taryn scrunched up her nose and made a gagging action “ you can't shift nor can you use your gift to see the future what use are you to us? If not for you being so useless would you be degraded to this point? No one other than you can be blamed for this condition of yours” then without flinching even the slightest bit, Taryn slashed Thalia’s skin, leaving a deep wound, as blood gushed out like a trickling fountain.
Thalia shrieked and threw her head against the wall, she could feel her skin blistering as the silver knife slashed her flesh. However, after three slashes, Thalia’s screams turned silent and by the fifth slash, even her whimpers stopped.
She closed her eyes while her tears trickled down her face, she didn't shout anymore because she knew no one would come to her aid. She could feel her warm blood trickle down and fill the flasks that Taryn kept under both her arms to collect her blood.
What went wrong? Thalia didn't know, she didn't know for just how long her pack had used her blood to heal their wounds, and for how long she had suffered this agony. Maybe it has been months or maybe years, Thalia had no recollection of time, as far as she could remember, this basement was her home.
Taryn collected Thalia’s blood, her eyes shining with greed. Only she knew how lucky she and her brother were to come across such a blessed seer whose blood could be used for healing wounds. Though Thalia was cursed by someone when she was a child and could no longer use her gift as a seer or shift into her wolf form, her blood was precious. A single drop could heal even the most gravest wound!
To Taryn, the day she met Thalia was the luckiest day but to Thalia, it was the day that she cursed the most. She was an orphan and a rogue, she was always on the run while scavenging food from here and there, she would steal and rob as long as it meant her tummy could be filled.
During her rogue days, she came across Taryn and her brother Marcus, the two of them were orphaned as well after their pack was attacked. When Thalia found them Marcus was dying, as a rogue and an orphan she sympathised with the two siblings and saved Marcus by giving him her blood to drink. But her kindness turned her sin, she thought that they were friends.
But she underestimated their greed, when Marcus got a chance to form an alliance with a pack that lost its Alpha, he betrayed her. He willingly gave her secret away and from then on her life became a living hell. While Marcus became the Alpha of this pack, she became the pack’s blood bank.
“ This might be enough,” said Taryn as she took away the flasks that were filled with her blood and shut their lid. Thalia who was finally free of her torment looked at Taryn, this girl, was so small and cute with her small stature and pixie blonde hair but her cruelty knew no bounds. With her cute appearance, no one would be willing to believe that behind such a pretty face laid such a sadistic bitch.
Taryn noticed Thalia’s gaze and immediately felt irked, though Thalia’s gaze held no blame. Taryn whose heart was filled with guilt suddenly felt stuffy, it was true that whatever that her brother and she were enjoying right now was all because they gave Thalia’s secret away. That was why, when Thalia looked at her, Taryn got upset and slashed her claws at Thalia.
Thalia dodged on time, though Taryn still clawed her throat at least, she managed to save her face from being scratched.
“ what are you dodging for? Those ugly curse marks have already ruined your face, what are you dodging for!” snarled Taryn as she grasped Thalia’s neck and hit her head against the wall. However, when she noticed Thalia’s precious blood drip, she winced and hurriedly placed a flask under to collect the blood dripping from the scars that she had just given Thalia” you should be glad that we are willing to use your blood or else you would have died. We gave you a place in our pack so you should give us something in return, this world is all about to give and take, Thalia”
Thalia didn't say anything, she didn't even lift her head, she was afraid that if she even looked at Taryn, she would hurt her even more.
“ that's right this is how you should stay,” said Taryn as she delivered a kick to Thalia’s midriff.
“ hah” gasped Thalia as she doubled down, her wolf whimpered trying to break the bounds that chained her but the curse wouldn't let her wolf come out.
Taryn glanced at Thalia’s pitiful condition and snorted she wasn't sympathetic to Thalia at all. To her, Thalia was just a tool.
She took the flasks with Thalia’s blood and left the basement, while Thalia closed her eyes as drowsiness took her consciousness away.
Thalia didn't know what made her regain her consciousness, all she knew was that every time Taryn took her blood she would only wake up somewhere in the noon. But when she opened her eyes, the window that was situated on the top of the basement's wall still showed the moon that was hanging in the sky.She blinked her eyes, trying to focus on her surroundings. Her senses that were hazy because of sleepiness finally regained a bit of their clarity.Screams.Mournful shouts. That nauseating scent of blood.Like a tsunami wave, everything came crashing and Thalia's wolf set up straight in high alert. Now that the two of them were wide awake they could smell the scent of something burning, fire - there was a fire. And their pack was what was getting burned.Thalia moved and then winced, the shifter resistant handcuffs tightened their hold when she moved coupled with the still recovering cut that Taryn gave her
“ who? I have no idea what you are talking about” said Taryn her voice shook as she tried to assert her dominance, Carter raised a brow as if he was fascinated by her struggle. He pinched her chin with his claws, digging the tips of his claws in her flesh, he watched as the latter gasped trying to pry his fingers off from her chin but Carter didn't let her go, instead, he tightened his hold and crouched down so that he could hold Taryn's gaze “ Taryn, you should know me well I think, your brother and I had enough dealings together with each other, I think you know what I do with people who try to lie to me”Taryn shuddered she knew of Carter though she had never seen him before she had heard of him from her brother, he was the Alpha of Blood Moon pack and he was notorious for being cruel and psychopathic, though his appearance didn't suit his cruelty. He was a gorgeous man, with eyes as warm as honey and a smile as charming as if it was full of s
Two months later." oh she is here""Here goes my appetite, can't she hide those ugly scars, they ruin my appetite every time"As soon as Thalia entered the common Kitchen of the pack, she heard these complaining comments. Her brisk pace faltered and she looked down, a button-down white shirt that hid her entire slender front including the script that was engraved in her skin. She had buttoned up the shirt all the way to its last button to hide the script on her throat. And she had even hidden the marks on the left side of her face with her bangs so that no one had to look at her cursed marks. But even then - Thalia sighed, she knew that it was all because of these she wolves being jealous of her.Two months ago, Carter, the man who saved her and the Alpha of this pack brought her here, though he didn't mention why he brought her here, Thalia knew that he brought her because his pack lacked a healer and wanted her gifts to h
Carter hated her. No he loathed her, despised her.Thalia could literally imagine him planning her death and what flowers he would put on her casket at her funeral. Why? She didn't know and she wouldn't dare to ask about it either, because one thing she has learned after staying locked for a good six months was that never try to understand your tormentor.Your tormentor was your bully and he was completely entitled to ruin your life, make a mess out of it whether for fun or because of some personal prejudices. Other than that there was no other reason at all, and in Carter’s case it was the latter, he hated seers and her kind, tormenting her, humiliating her must bring him some sort of kick, what more was there to understand? And yet, despite all the hatred and humiliation, she still felt that sexual attraction that she had for him was driving her crazy. Like this was simply insane, though Thalia knew that this teeny tiny crush of her wou
The reason Thalia hid her curse marks was all because of the sympathetic gazes she got from others, and she didn't want others to consider her as something breakable. She was a dominant wolf, even with her wolf tied up and chained she still considered herself as someone who was dominant and not submissive - those sympathetic gazes only made her feel pathetic and weak. But Carter, his gaze was not at all sympathetic hell she couldn't even mistake his gaze as a sympathetic one because now his eyes were downright maniacal. If his gaze was murderous before now he was looking at her as if he wished to skin her alive, see what laid beneath her cursed marks and rip her heart out of her chest while he was at it.Her heart somehow was inclined to believe that Carter wouldn't hurt her, that he was different from Taryn and Marcus and that there was more to him than other wolves who craved for the power that her blood could bring them..but her experience had taught her not t
" what?"" you don't seem to give a fuck about anyone, lost in your own world like no one worth your time, like you are better than everyone else " he pulled a strand of her sable hair and started twirling it in his fingers watching her with a maniacal interest " and I hate that about you, do you have any idea how much I hate that better than others attitude of yours ?"Thalia's breathing hitched as she looked at the strand Carter was twirling in his hand. It was as if the more he twirled it the more winded up she became, it was stupid. She didn't know what his plan was - was he going to rip it right off her skull before knocking her out or was he going to pull her around by it.A dark, almost claustrophobic sensation gripped her heart. And believe her, when she says that her wolf wasn't liking it one bit. Sure, a strange sensation seemed to overflow her senses every time Carter touched her like she and he were long lost friends or something and yes, a sin
Being locked in a water-filled room with no light and only rats as your company wasn't fun. Thalia has crawled her way up the only stone platform that was more like an old stone age bed trying to keep her toes out of the scurrying mice. She didn't have to put her feet at risk to know that the mice locked in this room were pretty hungry, with the loud ruckus they were making it was clear that they were making it was clear they were happy about the arrival of fresh meat as for how she knew that the mouse was feeding on rotten meat - the room stink. It smelled worse than a butcher house that hasn't been cleaned for years. She was angry, and her whole body was aching with pain from cold and lack of sleep. She really wished she could slap that haughty, maniacal Alpha who once in a while had homicidal urges of hers. The light beamed inside the room as soon as someone pushed open the door. Thalia swung her head away to avoid the pain in her eyes because of the
Thalia thought she knew fear, she was wrong. She was so damn wrong, being locked up in a dungeon with a greedy Taryn was loads better than being together with a demon with the warmest eyes that she has ever seen. As she stared at Carter's impassive face, she realised once again that she knew nothing about fear.Or even if she did, she seemed to have forgotten about it all. This time no matter how much she screams for help, no one was going to come for her. She was helpless, just as helpless as she was when she was locked in the dungeon by Marcus and Taryn. She was just as helpless when she was left behind by her parents. Who left her alone, and died - how? She didn't know, because she couldn't remember an ounce of what happened before she got these curse marks. Her memory was hazy and the only thing she remembered was running for her life while someone shouted at her from behind to run and escape whatever monster that was chasing her. Them.Bu
A loud echo of bullet shot echoed in the clearing as Carter pulled Thalia away but it turned out that his actions were useless because even though Cruz seemed to have aimed for Thalia the bullet didn’t hit her but instead hit him. “ No! Carter!” Thalia shrieked as she held Carter’s body that went limp against hers, as she looked at the painfully twisted face of her mate, Thalia was able to feel the echo of her mate’s pain through their mating bond and that was how she found out that the bullet wasn’t just an ordinary bullet it was specially made for putting down shifters with just one shot. Silver bullet dipped in wolfsbane and moulded with together with the holy water, her stomach churned as she felt the acidic sensation Carter was feeling while shaking her head as she cupped his face and crouched down with his head in her lap. “ No, No … No... No.. she tried to use her blood on his wound but it was of no use, she couldn’t heal him no matter how much blood she poured into the wound.
Thalia waited for Cruz to turn around, once she was sure that he was engrossed with her mother’s corpse and the stupid pentagram thingy, she flicked the pocket knife in her hand. Her gut was burning like someone has doused sulphuric acid on her skin and lit her up on fire, it was a pain like she has never felt before and because Cruz has stabbed her with a silver knife her healing was painfully slow and she was sure that she was going to pass out. He hasn’t just stabbed her for collecting her blood, he has left her to die…blood soaked her hoodie and dripped onto the concrete floor below her. As she moved her hand trying her best to slice the belt off her body, she could feel her wound throbbing with every move until it started to hurt with every breath that she took. Tears filled her eyes but she didn’t stop, it was hurtful but she knew that it will liberate her somehow. One strap down. Two straps down. Once her hand was free, she pulled the straps of the metal table that was tyi
With a great leap, Carter felt his wolf lunge against his surface as he growled, “ Renard!” Before springing and shifting mid-air as he rushed towards the wolves behind whom Renard was hiding. Every bite and slash of his was filled with anger and vigour, he didn’t care about the blood that was matting his fur or the corpses he was leaving behind, his eyes were on the prize and that prize was none other than Renard’s head. While he rushed towards Renard, the latter’s wolves tried their best to slow him down, they bit and clawed greatly affecting his movements but Carter was like an impending doom that was coming after Renard, nothing stopped him. He didn’t care about the bite on his neck, the claw mark on his hank and nor did he care about the blood that was dripping down his muzzle, all he cared about was reaching Thalia as soon as he could. Pain and blood loss was slowing him down but Carter couldn’t care about that, not when his mate was in danger. Especially, not when this f*cker
Carter groaned as he banged his fists on the steering wheel of the car he was driving. He tried to stop the ringing and pounding of blood in his ears but then again no wolf would take any obstruction including the one he was facing when he was in a hurry to get to his mate, he could feel the slow churn in his stomach, the pain pounding in his veins like little hammers drumming down on his head, stomach and every freakin pore of his body and here he was staring at Renard and his wolf as they surrounded him and his pack mates. Jake peered out of the windshield as he counted the wolves that were standing outside. “ One, two, three…damn that f*cker brought at least fifteen wolves to take us on, maybe he wants to bury us in an early grave.” “ Like he will get a chance to do that,” grunted Shayne from behind while looking out of the window as well. “ Fifteen, I think I can take them, we have been in a worse situation before haven’t we?”“ We have been,” rasped Dan as he rubbed the back of
Thalia saw his madness, that crazy glint in his eyes as he fervently drew the pentagram on the floor with her blood that he has collected, an angry flush crept on her face as she glared at him. “ You can stop with that bullshit of yours you see? Disrespecting my mother, causing her life to become a mess because of you and then digging her body out of the grave, none of these actions says that you loved her. You are the reason, she is dead, all right? You rejected her, when she wanted you to claim her, you didn’t do it and yet you didn’t let her go. You framed her for being crazy and a kidnapper who went mad because you refused her, till the end you painted a totally different picture, all because you wanted to hide the hideous things that you have done, so what are you doing all this for?”Cruz’s head snapped up, as he straightened up and twirled the knife in his hands, eyes hard as he predatorily moved towards her. “ You don’t understand, I never wanted her to die you see? I wouldn’
“Did you find her?” asked Carter as he rushed out of his lodge that was at the centre of the pack and rushed to meet with Shayne who shook his head. “ I have checked the kitchen, the pantry, even the small shack where she used to stay, I can’t find her.” “ This is ridiculous, where did he take her?” said Carter as he tugged on the locks of his hair with his hands. “ No one saw him leave the territory, his car is parked in the garage so how can he take her away in such a short period of time?” An hour ago, he did not send Brandon to call for Kim, there was no way he was going to send Brandon to call for Kim leaving Thalia alone with him when he was still suspicious of Brandon, so when Kim came back and told him that it was Brandon who sent her to see him, Carter knew that something was wrong with Thalia at once and he rushed to the lodge to see what was going on but there was nothing as if she wasn’t even there at the first place.“ I can’t find Brandon,” Jake whom Carter sent to see
Thalia’s wolf arched her back as she prepared herself to lunge at Cruz but Thalia knew that it was going to be of no use, so she hurriedly said, “ You killed your brother right? You sacrificed him for my mother?” In her memories, she remembered a brown wolf lunging at her mother to protect Carter when her mother tried to claw Carter’s heart out, if that wolf wasn’t Cruz then surely it was —— Brandon.Cruz jutted his chin out Ashe nodded, “ That’s right, should have kept his nose out of my business. He said he loved Lydia but he crushed her throat right in front of me, he was even going to go after your father and end his misery so that he will not suffer much from the loss of his mate but I got there first, I took care of your father first and then took care of my dear brother, I left him half alive and left another wolf with his face clawed so badly that no one would be able to recognise him. Everyone thought that the body belonged to me and I died while taking care of your father, a
Have you ever tried to stuff your brain until you can no longer stuff anything in it? Well, that was what Thalia was going through right now, she didn’t know whether Cruz was saying the truth or not but she felt her brain sort of freeze as she shuffled back and said, “ This is a joke right? This has to be a joke.” “ You can deny it all you want, sweetie but you know it in your heart that it's the truth,” Cruz smirked as he kicked back on his chair. “ You remember it all but you just don’t want to accept it, I know I get that feeling too… I felt the same way when I found out that my mate mated with a f*cking submissive, she could have done so much better than that gutless submissive wolf but she just had to do something to piss me off.” “ Or maybe she genuinely liked him,” said Thalia before she took another look at the basement, she knew that Cruz would not just capture her for no reason, there must be something more to this, now Thalia hoped that Carter would be able to sense her
Thalia’s eyes snapped open as she took in the surroundings around her. The place wherever she was, it was just sad —— the windows were boarded up and there were also panes of wood that were hanging off the doors and if that wasn’t enough, crude insults were sprayed all over the walls. She didn’t have to think about where she was anymore, with just another glimpse of the surrounding she knew where she was —- she was home. The one where everything went downhill. And she wasn’t in the living room, no she was in that one place she hated with all her core, it was the basement. The exact same one where Carter was locked up by her mother, she sucked in a breath and somehow pushed herself to sit up straight, her feet weren’t chained but they were bounded by something, when she looked down, she realised that it was shifter resistant ropes. She muttered a curse inwardly but her curse stuck in her head mid-way as her gaze fell on something much more hideous that was sitting in the corner. Ori
