It was the weekend and I wanted answers from my parents after having that dream of the Moon Goddess Selene. I wonder if what the Moon Goddess said was true, to Elsa. It has to be true or else she would not have said it. Do you think that I may have an identical twin out there that didn't die? I believe so, Elsa said. I hope my parents tell me what happened. After all, I have a right to know, don't you think? Of course, you do Cailee. It is not right for parents to keep secrets from their children, even if they think that they are protecting you.

I got up from my bed, went to the bathroom and washed up, and then headed downstairs. I went into the kitchen and everyone was at the table already eating. The food looks good mom, thank you, she says. I'm sitting there eating and asking Elsa if I should bring the subject up of possibly having a twin sister. I would allude to it, she says. They have been keeping this from you for the last eighteen years.

I'm sitting there daydreaming of all the things that I could have done with my twin. Have double dates, go shopping, and even do the most common thing that twins do, switch. She could've had bad grades and I could've had good grades.

Hello, Cailee, and a hand is waved in front of my face. I snap out of it, shaking my head. I'm sorry, I was just thinking about something. Are you alright, my mom asks? If I ask you both a question, will you be honest with me? Of course, dear, my dad says. Now what is your question? Is it true that you mom gave birth to twin girls? My mom looked at me and her eyes started to get teary. How do you know about that? She says.

Well, when I was asleep, the Moon Goddess came to visit me. She said that I had a twin that supposedly died while you were giving birth. Is what she said true? I asked my mom. Yes, sweetie, what you heard in your dream is true. So, you have kept this from me for the last eighteen years. Yes, we have, but you have to understand that we were devastated when we lost her and only you survived. Or so they thought that she had died.

So explain to me what happened. It was back in 2004 when I was pregnant with you and your sisters, and you weren't due for another month. It was every fall afternoon I would go for a walk in the forest to the small pond that is there with the lilies. Furthermore, it seemed as if you and your sister liked to feel the fresh air when you both were kicking in my womb. Since your dad was the Gamma to Alpha Israel, he would be working until 8:00 p.m. in the evenings.

It was September 24, 2004, a nice fall day. I didn't feel like going outside, but you both were just kicking. Alright, you two in there, we are going to the pond and both of you stop kicking. I grabbed my sweater and took a walk through the forest and headed to the small pond. I just loved the smell of Lillie's, and it seems both of you did two because you were both calm.

It was just me standing there enjoying nature since I couldn't shift while pregnant. Then all of a sudden, I felt this sharp pain. It was a good thing I was next to a tree, and so I sat down, thinking that the pain would go away. Nope, it didn't, and I knew it was too early because I wasn't due for another month around the time of the Harvest Moon. But, you two had other plans.

I mind-linked your dad, asking him where he was. He was just leaving the pack house. I'm going into labor, I told him. But you aren't due for another month, he said. We'll tell that to your two stubborn twin girl pups. We, ll, where are you? I am in the forest by the little pond where we first mated. Ewe, Mom, I didn't need to know that part. Well, how do you think you came about? Never mind then I said.

There I was sitting by the tree waiting for your dad, then I heard leaves crunching, and then I smelled her, the witch, she walked calmly towards me and I growled. It's alright, only hereto help she said. Ok, a y I said, breathing through another contraction. Let's take a look here, oh yeah, you are ready to go. Just as I was about to push your dad, mind-linked me, telling me that he was almost there. Good because you're just in time to see me push out your pups.

Then all of a sudden, you were the first one out and you wailed. Then three minutes later, your sister was born, but she didn't make a sound. I asked Sylvia what was wrong, she told me that the cord was around her neck. She didn't have much, but she did get the cord around from your sister's neck, but she still didn't make a sound. Why isn't she making any so sou'she said that she was sorry and she tried? Noooo!!! We both howled as well. Both of our hearts were breaking at the loss of your sister.

I sat there listening to the story, and I was crying. Couldn't believe that my parents had been through such an ordeal. This would explain the sad, faraway look in my mom's eye. I got up and gave my parents both a hug. For what they have been through, no wonder they are so protective of me. Now I see why you both were so adamant about keeping my wolf a secret, I say. Yes, we knew that you would be special when you were born, they both say.
