CHAPTER TWO

Braxton POV

I woke up this morning feeling a bit anxious but couldn't figure out why.  Jackson, what's with all the pacing?  You are not helping my nerves at the moment.

Jackson just grumbled and blocked the link.  I was confused by his behavior but pushed it aside as I hopped in the shower.  My beta and gamma were meeting me in my office in about an hour to go over the new trainees we have to place.  Then we need to discuss my little side project that I hope will help increase the profit for the pack.  For the past couple of years my pack, The Shimmering Falls Pack, has been thriving under my rule as Alpha.  They make me a very proud Alpha and I'm hoping that with my side project it will help all of the soon to be warriors get in shape.

I shower and head down to breakfast, Doris has been the pack cook for many years, she is almost like a nana to me.  I walk aroudn the corner to see her just putting some kind of pancakes, I think, and something that resembles sausages.  I look around the table and notice all the faces and see the concern at what was brought to the table.  I'm a bit confused as well, this is not normally what she brings us.  "Good morning Doris, what is for breakfast if I might ask?"

I see her tense slightly and my anxiousness grows.  "Good m-morning A-Alpha!"  Doris stutters out

Okay, now I know that something is up because Doris NEVER stutters!  Before I can ask what she is hiding she rushes out an explaination.  "Your parents are on their way over for breakfast and I was told that they are brining a couple of visitors from a neighboring pack."  With that said she rushes into the kitchen to hid from me.

I quickly follow her.  "Doris please calm down adn explain to me what is going on, why are my parents coming over?"  I really need to not be blindsided by my parents today!

She looked very nervous. "I-Iam so-sorry Alpha. I w-was to-told to pr-prepare br-brreakfast for the guests. I was or-ordered not to tell you."

I tensed up immediately, I knew that my parents couldn't leave well enough alone!"

TODAY IS GOING TO BE A ROUGH DAY!  I mindlinked my beta.

FOR FUCK SAKE ALPHA, WHY?  Rollings became a bit anxious at my tone.

WELL APPARANTELY MY PARENTS ARE BRINGING SOME PEOPLE OVER THIS MORNING TO SET ME UP WITH!  I became angrier at the thought of being mated to anyone other than my fated mate.

Jackson howled in agreement, he already told me tha he would block me indefinately if I marked and mated to any individual who wasn't our mate.  He can be so stubborn sometimes and I know that he meant business!

You don't mess with the Moon Goddess!  He abruptly stated.

I WILL NEED A RUN AFTER THIS, THEN I WILL BE IN A BETTER MOOD TO LOOK AT BUSINESS PROSPECTS.  I let Rollings and Christian know.

OF COURSE ALPHA!  They both say in unison.

I soo block the link and head back out to the dining hall.  I was about to head back to my room to change for a run when the front door burst open and my parents entered, spotting me.

"Oh good you are already down here.  I was afraid that I was gonna have to have Tollings or Christian make you come down!"  My mother gushed.

I bristled.  "I love the fact that you assume that YOU could actually order MY beta or gamma to MAKE me do anything!"  I plastered a fake smile on my face.  I hate that my mother would do things to bring this side out in me.

"You watch how you talk to your mother!"  My father stepped in front of her, seperating her and I.

I could feel Jackson just below the surface, pushing to come out feeling challenged.  "Father, you are no longer the Alpha, neither of you have the right to order me or the rest of the pack around, especially ot keep secrets from their ALPHA!"  My now Jackson was peeking through, I noticed that my pack members were bowing in submission, baring their necks at my Alpha tone.

Jackson, dude, we need to calm down.  There is no need ot punish our pack for our parents being stupid and stubborn!

I can feel Jackson slightly back down and give me back more control.

I will NOT be forced to mate with anybody but OUR MATE! 

I agree with you dude!  I take a deep breath, reigning in my aura.  I finally open my eyes and look at both my parents.  "What are you doing here?"

My mother heads into the dining hall and notice that some of the warriors were still waiting to eat.  "We invited Alpha Roger Kentwood and his daughter Tammy Kentwood for breakfast then talk to you and him about an alliance between both packs through marriage."

My barely controlled anger flared up yet again.  I growled deep in my chest, well Jackson did.  I could smell my beta and gamma coming to back me up.  They both were aware of how my relationship changed with my parents so they knew that I was on edge.

"Everything okay Alpha?"  Rollings said as I felt his hand on my right shoulder in an attempt to calm me down.

I calmed down but only a little bit.  "I am okay Rollings, thank you."  I walked into the dining hall and addressed my warriors.  "You all may go into the kitchen, Doris is preparing you ACTUAL food to eat."  I couldn't help but look pointedly at my mother with that comment.

She tensed up adn narrowed her eyes at me.  "Tammy is on a strict diet so what is the harm in making something she can eat?!"

I scoffed at her.  "The harm is when you are forcing EVERYONE to eat what only one person can eat!  I will not allow my warriors to starve and nor will I eat that crap!"  I am very quickly loosing my patience but before I can say anything more there is a knock at the front door.

My father walks to it and opens it.  "Good morning Alpha Kentwood and Miss Kentwood, gald that you both could make it.  Please come in and join us in the dining hall."

"Glad that you invited us Alpha Thane."  Alpha Kentwood said while shaking my father's hand.

The nerve of this man!  Jackson was flooding my head with all the ways we could deal with this arrogant, insufforable man!  JACKSON!  He is still our father, we can't just kill him even though he is overstepping his role!

It's just a suggestion, I wouldn't DREAM of kill our father!  Jackson replied, voice dripping with sarcasm.

Calm down man, I will deal with him but first we need to deal with the problem that they brought to our doorstep okay? 

I hear him grumble.  Fine, but I want lots of bacon as payment to suffer through this shit! 

I chuckle in my head.  Okay buddy.  DORIS CAN YOU BRING ME AND JACKSON SOME FOOD WITH EXTRA BACON PLEASE?  I quickly link my cook.

OF COURSE ALPHA, I WILL ALSO BRING BETA ROLLINGS AND GAMMA CHRISTIAN FOOD AS WELL!  I can hear some relief in her voice.

THANK YOU!  I shut the link off and look to my friends.  "Go ahead and sit, food will be brought out to us."

They both smiled, but didn't sit yet.  they always waited for me to sit first.  I approach my seat at the head of the table and Rollings takes my left and Christian takes the seat after him.  My mother sits next to Christian and my father sits next to her, opposite me.

"Alpha Roger, Miss Tammy I would like to introduce you to my some and the current Alpha, Alpha Braxton."  He smiles at them and then gives my a pointed look.

I look at Alpha Roger and notice that he gives me an icy glare before looking at my father.  OH NO HE DIDN'T JUST DISRESPECT US!  Jackson snarls in my head and I bristle against the urge to rip his throat out!  "Welcome to Shimmering Falls Pack Alpha Roger."  I grit through my teeth.  I sit without allowing them to sit first as is trationally the custom when having guests over but I don't give a fuck about that right now!  I ignore my parents icy glares at my tone.  I don't really care about them, they are lucky that I am still entertaining this disrespectful asshole and his daughter!

Rollings, Christian and I all look at Doris as she places our plates in front of us as Alpha Roger sits next to my father and Tammy sits next to me, unfortunately.  Jackson tenses at her proximity.  Rollings and Christian notice my posture and not at me, giving me support in case I need it.

This is a first, both Duece and Skull can't stand these two at all.  They can't settle down at all!  Jackson tells me, I look at my beta and gamma to see that theyare both watching Alpha Roger and his daughter like hawks.  Duece is Christian's wolf and Skull is Rollings wolf, my father's is Blake and my mother's is Vanessa.  Our wolves are the other half of us, we can not live without each other.  Blake and Jackson have always butted heads in the past, it's a pretty common instince with Alphas and future Alphas.  It seems that ever since my father gave me the Alpha title some years ago we have gotten worse at butting heads, it seems that my father and Blake have forgotten that they WILLINGLY gave up the title!

I am pulled out of my thoughts whenn Ttammy touches my arm.  I snap my head to where she is touching me and Jackson growls.  I feel repulsed by her touch and disgusted my the lustful look in her eyes when I look at her.  "It is a real...pleasure to finally meet you Braxton.  Your mother tells me that you mate is most likely dead since you haven't found her."  She says in what I am assuming is her seductive voice but it just makes me cringe.

I pull my arm away from her touch and clear my throat before looking at my mother.  "Well I am sorry to tell you that you were missinformed.  My mate is not dead adn yes I have not found her...yet!"  I coldly reply my eyes never leaving my mothers in furiated gaze.  I then look at Alpha Roger and Tammy before continuing.  "You will address me as Alpha or Alpha Braxton, is that understood?"

I saw Alpha Roger's eyes change from Icy blue to black adn back to Icy blue again, indicating that his wolf was fighting for control.  "I was promised that there would be an alliance between the pack via marriage to my daughter!  What is the meaning of this disrespect!"  He began raising his voice.

Tammy quickly stood by her father and looked from me to her father and to my parents.  "You both promised that he was onboard with this alliance and said that he would be happy to be mated to me!"

My father slowly began to stand away from the table and make his way towards me as his eyes flashed from green to black.  "Boy, how dare you disobey me and disrespect my friend!"
