Allison P.O.V.I had a feeling, and sadly that feeling was right. Fortunately I discovered that asshat had miscounted and I could mindlink Ruby to keep her face out of sight and not show feelings of any kind. Especially not fear. First thing I tried was to mindlink Blake, which didn’t work of course, not that I actually thought it would, but one could hope. So this was a nice little gift. Thank you Bane. “BANE! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?” Caitlyn screams, running into the place where we’re being detained. She looks at me with wide eyes, her anger and surprise clear as day. So, Bane did not disclose his intention with her either. Mhhm that’s interesting. Something to save for later. “What do you mean ‘what have I done’?” He asks back with a scowl, crossing his arms. Caitlyn points at me with a white finger, her lips pursed. “That?!” She sneers, obviously disagreeing with his actions in kidnapping me. I don’t know whether to feel offended or relieved that not all our enemies want me to them
Bane P.O.V.The night air is crisp and silent. People are sleeping in the house, barracks and tents all around me. I can’t sleep. I know what tomorrow holds, and I feel my nerves get the best of me. I fucking hope those cunts can do their jobs and get Annabel into the trap. I would rather be there myself to lay it, but I know I can’t be caught near the packs unless I want to be dead faster than Caitlyn loses her temper.I hear boots on the ground behind me. It’s not unusual. People who can’t sleep will often come here to overlook the landscape in the moonlight. Caitlyn and her posse are not one of them. They hate the moon. Something about it makes them hiss like vampires, but I know that is not what is wrong with them. I’ll have to figure out this secret. The boots stop behind me. I roll my eyes. They are probably going to either sit down, or stand there in silence until they think I’ll cave. “Sir, we got news from the packs.” The voice behind me says, and I sigh. Ah. He is one of t
Talia P.O.V. “We just can’t catch a fucking break.” I tell Neptune as he helps me go through Ruby’s things to find something I can use as focus to go get Alpha Nicholas. If he has indeed been cursed, it will explain the weird behaviour, and hopefully he’ll get back to his normal, rational, self when we get rid of it, but it also means that Celine is working with Caitlyn and Bane. “Tell me about it, babe.” He says, holding up a piece of clothes. I shake my head and he puts it down, looking through more stuff. Not that she brought much, but it has to be very specific and closely attached to the Alpha. “I can’t believe Allie got kidnapped again, and Ruby with her.” Neptune continues, and I nod, eyeing a necklace I found in a pocket of the duffle bag. “I know. Blake must be freaking out, but he is keeping it well together.” I answer, picking up the necklace just as we hear a roar and a crash of porcelain on a wall. “Nevermind.” I utter, looking to the hallway through the open door. Nep
Nicholas P.O.V. The world spins. My vision blurs. Something isn’t right. Something hasn’t been right for some time, but I can’t exactly put my finger on it. Deep into the night, where I can’t sleep because my beloved Ruby isn’t here anymore, I’m clear in my head. I know what to do the next day. Kick out Celine and make things right. But then comes the sunrise, the daylight, and something snaps within me. I forget why I want to throw her out. I only remember the betrayal of my mate. The fact that she ran away instead of facing the hard truth. The betrayal of Damien who has chosen Gold Moon and his disgusting witch mate over his old pack and his cousin; me. No! She is not disgusting just because she is a witch! Goddess I hate these intrusive and unwelcomed hateful thoughts. Damien chose right, and I commend him for that! I don’t blame him. Not even a little bit, although I do miss him. But something in me is fighting this. These angry rage thoughts. The feeling of wanting to rip them a
Blake P.O.V.Finding the camp, I must admit I thought I had seen everything life, battle and death had to offer, but I was sorely mistaken. The sheer carnage of the camp and the bodies displayed between scattered possessions and tents, was enough to make the best of us want to hurl. Some of my warriors did, in the trees, outside the line of the site. I didn’t blame them one bit. Bile rose several times, but I reminded myself to keep my composure and be someone my men could look up to. I mindlinked Allie after we searched the camp thoroughly to make sure no one was lying in wait to make a nasty surprise, and no magic was about. We found nothing, so I deemed it safe for her to come out here. She brought Ruby, mindlinking me the details from the hospital briefly before they went ahead on the ATV. I mindlink a couple of warriors to escort them out here and return back to the pack later. They were more than willing to do so, and asked if there was anything else they could do? I told them
Allison P.O.V.The ATV speeds through the pack, and I weave through packmembers walking to and fro, doing their everyday thing. Most of them recognize me and wave with a smile, while others just jump out of my way with a curse. I’ll apologize later, but right now we need to get to that campsite - fast. “What aren’t you telling me, Allie?” Ruby yells over the noise from the ATV and wind blowing past us. I keep my eyes on the road as we go over the pack border and onto a beaten forest road. Two warrior wolves join us, running besides the ATV, keeping up with no trouble. “Allie?!” I sigh into the wind, slowing down a bit, so I don’t have to yell myself hoarse, until I remember we can mindlink one another. I speed up again, feeling her tighten her grip on me and the confusion from my warriors at my momentous slow down. ‘You’ll see when we get there, but these were not ordinary bad rogues. They were cursed or something. And the campsite was filled with wolves as well, people who were liv
