I wonder what it is that the Crone saw that she felt the need to 'advise' Baylor to keep an open mind? It's nice to see Delania has mellowed some since their talk and the kiss. These fellas and their antics just crack me up. How about you, what do you think? Thanks for reading! -A :)
Unknown POV Oh how rich is this? Alpha Stephan Leary is traveling with his young Luna and newborn mutt. Given the direction of their travels, I suspect they are heading to Skatom Mochain. Too bad they will never reach their destination. Stephan provided asylum to members of Skatom Mochain and fought against Cillian and his band of misfits that I enlisted to help destroy them. Cilian learned quickly what happens when you fail the King. Well Stephan, you know what they say? No good deed goes unpunished and now is the time for your punishment. They are traveling with only minimum security, so that will make the attack that much easier. The fool feels safe after all these years, falsely believing that the threat no longer exists. No one ever knew that it wasn’t Cillian behind the attack. Stephan will find out too late how wrong he was. I almost wish I could draw out his death, but moving swiftly is the better option to ensure everything goes according to my plan. No matter if torture wo
Baylor POV “Thanks for that. My brain just froze back there,” I said to Alpha Colin as we ran to follow the warrior. “It will be second nature soon enough, Baylor. Where was this warrior stationed?” he asked. “Border Patrol to my knowledge. Mitchum sets these things up and I just glance at them,” I replied, wishing that I paid more attention to the schedules. When we got to the border I didn't even know what to think. There were two men and a baby. The first man was a wall of muscle. He was dark like a good cup of coffee, his hair was close cropped to his head and though he had facial hair you could clearly see the scowl on his face. There was blood on him but he appeared unharmed. It was the second man who was clearly injured and being supported by the first man and clearly in need of help. “What’s going on here? Alpha Colin questioned. “I’m here on vacation and was going to pay a visit to Drake and Dara when I came across this man being attacked by rogues. I could see he had been
Baylor POV When we arrived at the packhouse oddly enough the only person in the living room was Kenneth, my best friend and Beta. Baby Marlon had fallen asleep during the walk back and for that I was thankful, but it wouldn’t be long before he would wake again and be hungry or worse; need a diaper change. When Kenneth spotted me coming through the door he got a confused look on his face. When his mouth opened to say something, I mind-linked him. ‘Go up to my room. We’ll talk there.’ He simply nodded and walked up the stairs. When we got into the room, I laid the pup on my bed before going to sit on Mitchums bed to talk to Kenneth. “You know how Alpha Stephan was supposed to be coming to help build the temporary housing?” I asked Kenneth. “Yeah, he was just waiting for his Luna to have their pup, so they could travel,” he replied casually. “Well Stephan isn’t coming and that is his pup.” I said pointing to where Marlon was laying on my bed. “What are you gonna do Bay?” Kenneth asked.
Siobhan POV I am so happy to finally be able to hold my gift from Selene in my arms. She is absolutely perfect, my little Connie Avery Cashel. I hope that Fiadh is right though, and that Alpha isn’t upset with me. The Moon Goddess told me that Connie and I are an important part of a task she assigned to Alpha. I don’t know what the task is, but I know it will be important to work with him on this. I will ask him about it tomorrow. Tonight I am exhausted and I need to rest and take care of my pup. She is absolutely breathtaking. I have unwrapped her from her blanket several times just to admire her ten little fingers and ten little toes. It just tickles me to see them so tiny and perfect, just like she is. Feeding her the first time had been much easier than I had anticipated, but I listened to Luna Freya when she told me what to do and Connie latched right on. Then when she had her fill, I rubbed and patted her back like Luna had explained. As much as I would love to sit and hold
Baylor POV I am blown away by Siobhan’s selflessness and I wouldn’t say it out loud, but maybe just a little intimidated by her new found hutzpah. She took charge of everything and even stood up to me when she felt she was being dismissed. When she pulled her boob out to start feeding Alpha Marlon it was a little weird, but it was like it was natural and normal for her. Luna Freya and the other females came back about an hour after Siobhan had fed Marlon and showed Kenneth and I how to change a nappy. I am debating pulling the Alpha card when the little guy poops though, not sure I can deal with that. At any rate Luna Freya took me down to the kitchen and showed me how to make a bottle for when he wakes next. Kenneth and Phoebe are currently curled up on Mitchum’s bed so they can help and I am heading down to the room where the guard Machieste is. Delania is watching over him until the healers can get here. I knocked and then entered the room and Delania’s eyes popped open. “Any
Delania POV I don’t think Baylor meant what he said last night, at least not in that manner. Don’t get me wrong, I would be thrilled if he meant that he thought I was beautiful, but I am sure he meant the lullaby. Ever the gentleman, even tired, wanted to pay a compliment and think of someone before himself. I have noticed he does that, puts everyone else in front of himself. Whether it is physical needs like making sure everyone else eats first, or making the most insignificant feel as if they are the most worthy. Those are the marks of a great Alpha, he may not be the strongest and definitely doesn’t fully grasp all that being a werewolf is, but he is kind and selfless. Whenever his Luna comes, she will be a lucky gal to have him and I hope she is worthy of him. For now I will accept those occasional kisses that are incredible and when I get the opportunity to let Sarafina out to run with Shammus, his wolf. Machieste looks as if he is continuing to progress well, he seems to be l
Baylor POV It felt like I had to hit the floor running this morning, Alpha Marlon woke us all bright and early. I now understood what Alpha Colin had meant by pups not breathing right. More than once I woke up and stuck a finger under Marlon's nose to make sure he was breathing. Thank the goddess that Phoebe is an eternal ball of sunshine and volunteered to go make a bottle bringing coffee when she came back. Then she asked me to go down and see Delania, so much for the shower I was looking forward to. When I had gotten to the room where Delania was, she looked like a whole snack and sent Shammus into his usual dialogue about kissing her and going for a run with her wolf Sarafina. When she asked me to lick the wounded guard, I thought she was pulling some sort of hazing prank on me and figured if I threatened to make her pay she would back off. She remained adamant and so I did as she asked. It was gross and I swear if I find out she lied I’ll have her scrub toilets with her toothbru
Baylor POV The rest of the day went really well, once we got past the shit show of the morning. Agatha came and gave Machieste another dose of healing magic. And After listening to our plan, placed the suppression spell on Alpha Marlon’s aura. I hope that was the right decision, but it feels right and Alpha Colin agreed it was a sound idea. Just before lunch we introduced the Cashel ‘twins’ as the pack’s first of the next generation. After talking with Dane and Alpha Colin, it was decided that we are going to have to really step up pack security and training. However we decided that training would be canceled, just for the next two days so we could focus on getting the housing in place. We have been extremely fortunate that there hasn’t been any bad weather with many of the pack members sleeping in tents waiting for housing. One good rain could make a terrible mess of an already stressed situation. We actually managed to get three of the four structures walls up and two of those
Baylor POV six months later “Would you quit staring at her already? I am sure that even the Queen of the Weebles is gonna kick your ass, if you don’t quit staring at her Kenneth,” I teased trying to push Kenneth out the front door of the packhouse. “Kenneth is P.W.’ed bad,” Mitchum taunted. “P. W.” Marlon and Connie parroted from their play pen. “I'm sure I don’t want to know what that means. And I definitely don’t want the pups repeating it,” Siobhan growled as she came into the common room. “What? You didn’t yell at Baylor for saying A S S, but I say P.W.’ed and I’m in trouble,” Mitchum sulked. “They didn’t repeat after their Alpha. They repeated after their Uncle Mitchum,” Siobhan scolded as she gave the pups each a carrot stick. “I was just saying that Beta Kenneth is Phoebe Whipped. Geesh, accidentally teach the pups the F Bomb and I am in the dog house for life,” Mitchum whined. “Come on dude. We all know what the real meaning is and no, Siobhan doesn’t want to know
Baylor POV It shook me to my core when I learned that most wolves don’t survive when they lose their mate. I had given up on the battlefield and if it hadn’t been for Uncle Mike and Phoebe, Delania would most likely have died as well. That would have been another person who had died for me senselessly. So I have increased my training so that hopefully I am never in that position again. As for Alpha Colin himself, he has moved to the city to live above The Howling Shamrock Dublin and will continue to manage my finances until I am of age to do so myself. He said that even with the bond severed it was difficult to face pack life. His son came once he received the message we had sent to him through Agatha. He asked that we wake him and give him the choice of surviving or following after Luna Freya in death. He chose to live and it took half of the Crone’s coven to completely sever the bond and remove Luna Freya’s mark. These were some of the most powerful witches in Ireland and it prov
Baylor POV Once Delania and I had made it up to our room, I unceremoniously fell face first into bed. I may have been out for a day and a half, but I was completely exhausted and sleep claimed me quickly. When I woke up it was an entirely different story. I felt completely energized and ready to face my day. It might have had something to do with the woman riding my cock as I woke. “Well good morning to you too, beautiful,” I said, reaching up and pulling Delania down for her lips to press against mine. When our lips parted her eyes were full of mischief and she said, “I’m sorry. Did I wake you?” I squeezed her ass and replied, “Feel free to wake me like this anytime. Though that would remove the foreplay, I rather enjoy that part too.” She rose up and began riding at a quick pace and I grabbed her hips to meet her thrust for thrust. “Maybe next time then,” she said with a breathy moan. Watching her enjoy herself, lost in pleasure, stirred something inside me and I rolled to swi
Baylor POV The darkness didn’t last long and almost instantly there was a cacophony of sound. I heard Delania breathing next to me before the shouting began and the packhouse door slammed open. It took a few moments more before my eyes opened and I could see that I was in the medical room and I could hear every vile thing that Marissa, the fucking cunt, was screaming at my mate. By the time everything was completely focused, I heard Delania very calmly telling Marissa to leave and that she was unwelcome here. That bitch was less than unwelcome, she was already dead and didn’t know it yet. Pain screamed through my body as I sat up and tried to swing my legs off of the bed. I heard Marissa say, “I’m not going anywhere. Your mate killed mine and I am gonna kill him while you watch.” The anger that surged through me was greater than the pain and I instantly knew how I was going to kill Marissa. ‘Shammus?’ ‘Welcome back dummy.’ ‘Not the time, Shammus. I don’t think my human body is re
Delania POV Baylor had been out for well over twenty four hours and I was beginning to worry about how badly his internal injuries may have been. I have only left his side for that initial shower and then to empty my bladder after that. After a few hours I had licked all of the wounds that I could, knowing that the saliva of your mate could aid in the healing process. I could see improvements, so that gave me some hope. Sirona had come in a few hours ago and said that she was going to get Baylor more cleaned up now that he had begun to heal more. I asked if his vitals were stable and once she confirmed that they were, I asked her to please set up what was needed for his bath and I would do it. It wasn’t a jealous mate thing, it was me not wanting to leave and let someone provide care that I could provide myself. “This soap is an antibacterial, so it won’t hurt the wounds that are not completely healed. But make sure you rinse it well so that the Alpha doesn’t get a rash from the res
Baylor POV Wow, this place is positively beautiful! The skies are so blue and the grass and trees are so green they don’t hardly seem real. Looking out at the crystal waters it almost takes my breath away. It’s so peaceful, but a little lonely. “You’re not alone dummy, I’m right here with you,” I hear a familiar voice say. The odd part is this is a voice I normally hear only in my head. I turn my head to the side and see my wolf Shammus sitting next to me. “Shammus, how come I can see you? Why are you out of my head?” I questioned the odd occurrence. “We’re in the healing space. It is the only time other than death where we will ever be two instead of one,” Shammus explained as if this was an obvious answer. But it isn’t really that obvious to me, why would we need to be in the healing space. “I don’t understand, Shammus. Why are we here? You said we aren’t dead, can you please explain this to me?” I truly was confused by the situation and I wanted answers. “The battle finally ca
Delania POV Looking at Baylor laying in this bed it reminds me of how young he really is. If he were human he wouldn’t even be old enough to fight in a war for his country. But he isn’t human and he is the Alpha of Skatom Mochain who fought until he couldn’t for his pack. I brushed his hair off of his face and bent to place a soft kiss on his forehead. “Come back to me baby. Our pack needs you, I need you. Uncle Mike is here and he needs you too. Wake up baby, I love you,” I told him, holding his hand in mine. I couldn’t hold back anymore as the tears streamed down my face. This man with a defined sense of right and wrong, who stood for equality and justice was laying here broken. I remember Baylor telling me that it had been his dream to come to Ireland and find his family for as long as he could remember. He had made it and gotten a much larger family than he could have possibly dreamed of. He worked diligently to learn and be the best for his family. That’s what we all were, th
Delania POV I knew the moment Baylor went down, I felt it through the mate bond. I was stunned for a moment before I began running full force towards the area where the worst of the fighting had been. As I was running past the training grounds my heart almost stopped when I saw Ichor carrying Baylor in his arms. “Is he?” I cried out. I couldn’t say anything more, it felt like I couldn’t even breathe. “He’s alive but he’s badly injured. He kept fighting long after he should have been down. He has a strong will to survive,” Ichor answered. “We need to get him to the medical room,” I said. “That’s where I am taking him, Luna. Are your healers already there?” Ichor asked calmly. “I can’t remember. I can’t remember who our healers… Wait, Sirona, I’ll call Sirona,” I stuttered my mind going in a million directions. “Good, you call for Sirona. She’ll take care of your Alpha,” Ichor said slowly. ‘Sirona, please come to the packhouse right away! The Alpha is hurt badly and is unconsciou
Baylor POV Over the next several days everyone in the pack fell into a normal routine. All pack members from age fourteen to well past fifty did some level of training, pups as young as eight were learning but their training was very mild in comparison to those who may possibly face a fight. We had a dedicated team of pack members who were working on the housing project. There were currently ten homes under construction, which meant families would start being able to have privacy. I had pack members approach me requesting permission to start building a grocery store, a coffee shop, and two restaurants. We were slowly finally on the road to rebuilding. I fell into a routine as well. I would wake two hours before the training for the elite team of warriors began so that I could do a perimeter check and look for deficiencies in the border patrol. After elite training I would oversee the various projects going on around the pack and join in on other training sessions when I could. In th
