"I'm sorry that I can't drive you to the location of the trip. I have to meet with Cyrus first before I go to the location," Cupid said, tucking my hair behind my ears.

I smiled and patted his hand. "It's no big deal, Cupid. I have Claire, Liam, and my other friends to accompany me. I'll just see you there," I smiled. “You won’t take that long, right?”

He pouted while nodding his head, causing me to laugh.

"Are you sulking, you big baby?"

"I'm just sad that I wouldn't be able to drive you there. Imagine the quality time that we can spend!”

"Silly," I pinched his cheeks. "It would only be a two-hour drive. And besides, we just can't show up together. What would you do if people would find out about our set-up?" I asked softly.

A strange emotion passed his eyes. "Right," he muttered under my breath, letting go of my head. "Then, I guess I'll see you there."

I smiled. "Yeah, I'll see you there."

"Stay safe, okay?"

"You too."

We parted ways—he went to his car while I

Gillian We finally arrived at the beach house that we were going to be staying in for the next three days. I thought that the bus ride would be more awkward, considering that I was seated next to Dallas, but it was surprisingly pleasant. He was very easy to talk to, and he knew how to drive a conversation. There were little to no dead airs during the entire trip. Now, I was in my assigned room with Claire, Olivia, and Rain. Each room is designated for four people, so the four of us decided to take one room while Dallas and Liam took the room next to us with two other people. Rain looked around the huge room with wide eyes. "Damn. Sir Cupid outdid himself this time. How do our annual field trips keep on improving?" Claire placed her luggage down on the floor. "Well, that's sir Cupid for you. He never settles for the bare minimum. He’ll always aim for the best!” "Speaking of sir Cupid," Olivia intercepted. "I don't think I've seen him yet. Did he not come with us?" Before I cou

Gillian We were all seated at one table, and by all, I mean Claire, Liam, Olivia, Rain, Dallas...and Cupid. Not a single person dared to speak with Cupid at our table. Nobody can't deny the awkwardness lingering in the air, but Cupid doesn't seem to notice. He kept on eating on the plate that he took from Dallas, nonchalant about the entire situation. As I wandered my eyes around, Cupid and I's eyes met, and he gave me a teasing smirk, causing me to furrow my eyebrows. I was silently communicating with him to leave our table since he was making it uncomfortable for my friends, but he just continued eating. "Are you okay?" I heard Dallas say next to me. I turned to him, surprised and wondering if he caught us in the act. "Hmm?" I hummed. Dallas gestured to my plate. "You're not eating. Are you feeling okay? Or is the food not to your liking?" he softly said. "Oh," I chuckled. "Yeah, I'm okay, and the food's great," I said, taking a forkful of the food to prove my statement tr

Gillian I was seated down on the bed with the three other girls staring down at me. I momentarily looked up to see the look on their faces but quickly brought my head back down when I saw their inquiring eyes. "So...what was that?" Claire asked, breaking the silence. I knew that they saw what happened back in the beach, but if I paint it as if I don't know what they were talking about, can I get out of this? "What do you mean?" I asked, feigning innocence. They all let out a sigh of frustration. Olivia placed her hand on my shoulder, making me look up at her fiery eyes. "We all saw and heard that, Gillian. There's really no use in hiding it anymore," she said. Rain nodded her head. "Now, it's your choice whether you're going to explain the situation to us or if you're just going to let our imaginations run wild." My eyes widened in surprise. "No, please don't," I shook my head. They smirked at each other. "Then spill the tea. I'm dying to know about your relationship! D

Gillian I yawned into my hand and wiped the tears away from my eyes. "Did you not sleep well?" Claire asked. "Yeah," I nodded my head. Cupid was relentless yesterday, not giving me any time to rest. He sent me back to my room at 5 o'clock in the morning, so I barely had any time to sleep before he sent me back. Dallas looked at me with concerned eyes. "Are you okay?" he asked, tucking my hair behind my ears. "Or do you want to sleep more?" I looked at him weirdly since he was still acting pretty sweet when the plan was already off. I took a step away from him before responding. "Yeah, I'm alright. Thanks for asking, though." He looked like he still wanted to say something, but I quickly walked toward Claire and pulled her to the side. "What?" she asked. "Has Liam told Dallas that the plan is off?" I whispered into her ear just in case other people might hear. Claire looked at me with furrowed eyebrows. "Yeah, I was even there when Liam told Dallas. Why?" "Hmm?" I tilted

Gillian Dallas' kiss lingered on my cheek for a few seconds before he moved away and gave me a warm smile. Some people exclaimed in surprise, while the others teased Dallas for what he did. He scratched the back of his neck and shook his head at some of his friends. I, on the other hand, sat frozen in my seat, still processing what had happened. Did he just—did he just kiss my cheek? Does that mean that he's interested in me? How? I'm so confused. I mean, how could he be interested in me when we had literally just met yesterday? It makes no sense! Just when I thought that this night wasn't going to get worse, it just did! I turned towards Claire to ask for help but saw that she wasn't looking my way. Olivia and Rain were too far for me to reach out to, so I just sat there in silence. Dallas sat back down next to me, and I scooted farther away from him, feeling awkward about the situation. I felt his gaze lingering on the side of my face, but I tried my hardest to ignore it.

Gillian I took the initiative to sit at the farthest seat where I could be alone since I genuinely didn't want to interact with anyone on this very boat. I wish I would have brought my earphones too in order to tune out Maeve's shrill and annoying voice, but it was too late now. We were currently in the middle of the waters, cruising through the ocean breeze. "Did I surprise you? You didn't expect me to be here, right?" she asked as she circled her arms around Cupid's biceps. My eyes lingered on their arms for a couple of seconds, and I had the urge to smile in satisfaction when I saw Cupid removing her arms away from his. He cleared his throat and shook his head. "Cyrus already told me that you're going to be joining on the last day." She pouted. "What? I told my dad to keep this a secret so I could surprise you. Now, everything's ruined," she whined. "It's alright. I wouldn't be surprised anyway," Cupid said, making her frown deeper. This time, I couldn't help but react. A c

Gillian“Do you remember when I told you that I didn’t pick this line of work?”I nodded my head. “Vaguely. You told me that you were hired for this.”“Well, that’s true. But aside from that, I wasn’t left with a choice. This is something that I had to do.”I frowned. “What do you mean?”He leaned his elbows against his lap and let out a deep breath. “My father—,” he started off, his voice breaking with the utterance of his close relative. I placed my hand on his lap. “We don’t have to take it that far.”He shook his head. “No, I promise you that I’ll be completely honest. I’ll tell you everything...everything from the start. There might just be some moments where I would find it difficult to talk.”I patted his lap. “Then feel free to stop whenever you want to. Take your time, Cupid. I’ll just be right here.”He nodded his head and sat straighter. “My father was a great man—he really was,” he smiled. His sincere smile struck a cord in my heart, and I could tell that he was truly sin

GillianI looked into his teary eyes and felt my emotions welling up too. However, I held them back because I wanted to appear strong—I wanted to be strong for the two of us. “Cupid,” I said holding onto his cheeks and caressing under his eyes. “I love you too,” I said as sincerely as possible.I let out a chuckle when the tears freely fell from his eyes. “Why are you crying?” I laughed, although I was also on the verge of tears. “It’s your fault,” he said, his voice breaking. “I love you so much,” he held onto my hand that was on his cheeks. “I really can’t bear losing you.”“Hey,” I gently tapped his cheek. “I’m still here, aren’t I? We’ve already confessed our love to each other, but nothing happened. I’m still here.”“We don’t know that, Gillian. The people we’re against with are very powerful people, and they’ve been controlling my life for plenty of years now. I really don’t want to take the risk.”“Am I not worth the risk?” I asked softly. He looked into my eyes as he harshl

Axel sighed as he packed his bags once again.“Are you ready, love?” Rosalind called out from the bathroom.Axel smiled and tried to sound cheery. “Yes, love. I’ll just load the bags in the car.”“Alright, I’ll come down after peeing,” she called out.“Stay here while I load our things, love. I’ll go back here to come and fetch you.”Rosalind flushed the toilet and moved out of the bathroom. “Wait, let’s just go together,” she walked toward her husband. She held onto her back as she walked since her stomach had gotten so big that her back failed to support her by itself anymore.Axel clicked his tongue and shook his head when he saw her struggling to walk. He placed their bags down on the ground and walked over to where she was. One hand held onto her back while the other held on

Axel excitedly dialed Cupid's number, ready to tell him about the unexpected news. As much as the two of them try to deny it, they both know, deep inside their hearts, that they treat each other as very good friends. "Yo," Axel said into the phone. "I have something to tell you." "Axel!" Cupid greeted in an equally jolly voice. "I was just about to call you too. I also have some great news." Axel became a little suspicious when he heard that Cupid, too, had some good news, but nothing could really take away from his happiness after the news that he had just heard. "You go first, then," Axel presented since he is in a good mood. "Nah, man. You go first. You're the one who called me first. Go ahead," Cupid responded. "No, you." "No, you go first." "No, YOU go first." "No, you're the one who should go first." They endlessly said to each other. In the end, Axel sighed in frustration. "Let's just say it at the same time, alright. Then we'll explain it individually afterward." "Fi

"Did you get it?" Rain excitedly said as she went out of her office. Liam looked up from his laptop and focused his attention on Rain. "Get what?" Rain sighed in frustration. "The invitation!" "What invitation?" he asked, confused. Rain walked closer to him and went behind his back. "I told you to check your personal email more often. Come on, open up your account." Liam quickly opened up his personal email account and clicked on the latest message. He read the contents of the email. "A high school reunion?" "Yeah," Rain nodded her head. "Let's go together." Liam smiled. In the course that they have been dating, he could feel that Rain had changed for the better. She had gained so much confidence over the past few months, and Liam feels proud knowing that she had grown to love and appreciate herself even more. "Yeah, let's go together. I also miss some of my high school friends." Rain smiled. "That's settled, then. Let's also buy our outfits together." *** Rain and Liam t

"This is it," Cupid removed his hands from Gillian's eyes, revealing a spacious yet cozy-looking infrastructure filled with antique designs. "Our new bakery." Gillian looked at the infrastructure in awe, and suddenly got teary-eyed when she realized that they were going to be having a new chapter in their life. Cupid chuckled as he observed his wife's teary eyes. "Why are you crying? This is supposed to be a happy event, love." Gillian wiped her tears with her sleeves and tried her hardest not to cry. "I know, love. I'm just so proud of the two of us." Ever since Gillian and Cupid had been married, they started thinking more about their future. They both knew that Cupid's investments would be more than enough to provide for their everyday needs, but they still would want to have a steady, stable income where the two of them can work together. And as someone who enjoys cooking and baking quite a lot, Cupid suggested that they open a cafe near Briana's restaurant. He thought that

Olivia and Dallas gazed back and forth between Liam who was on stage and Rain who was sitting right next to them. Olivia couldn't help but let out a small chuckle when she saw Rain's flushed face as other people also started teasing her. "How the fuck did he know what I was going to wear?" she asked. Dallas shook his head. "I went with him. He definitely didn't know. He just grabbed the first sweater he saw at Target. Must be destiny or something." Rain knew that Dallas was joking when he told her about destiny, but she couldn't help but blush at the thought that they might really be destined for each other. Liam, who saw Rain from a distance, was also shocked to see that they were wearing the same sweaters. He smiled to himself as he watched Rain getting teased by her other co-workers. 'I knew that going to Target would be a good idea,' he thought in his mind. "Good evening, everyone!" Liam finally said into the mic. The crowd cheered and clapped their hands, ready to star

When Liam told Rain that he would show her how he truly feels, she thought that he was just joking. There was no way that the guy she has been liking for the past seven years would suddenly show interest in her and make the effort to prove it.However, much to her surprise, he wasn’t lying. Ever since that day, she would always see her favorite coffee on top of her desk. On the weekends, flowers would suddenly show up on her doorstep. And during the end of her shift, Liam would always be waiting for her to take her home. She arrived in the office and saw yet another coffee, accompanied by two blueberry muffins, on top of her desk.“Damn, girl. I’m jealous of this admirer of yours. “I like you, alright?” Rain bursted out.“I’ve liked you for so damn long that it’s killing me inside! I know that you don’t see me that way, and I also know that you have something going on with Claire, that’s why I hate myself for even thinking about you—for thinking we could be together. So, stop doing this—whatever this is that you’re doing. To you, this might only be an act of friendship, but to me who has liked you from the beginning, I am starting to misinterpret your actions. It’s so fucking difficult for me to act platonically with you if you keep doing these things. So, please. Stop. I’ll also stop bothering you from now on.”Liam intently listened to every word that Rain said. He never expected this, to be honest. To him, Rain was like an honest friend that always had his back.
