Gillian

I didn't know whether it was a coincidence or not, but the moment I felt my heart shattering into a thousand pieces, a glass of whiskey also fell down on the floor, shattering to a thousand pieces.

Jared looked at me with wide eyes and quickly pushed away the woman that he was kissing just moments ago. His lips were still stained with the nude lipstick that she had on. His glass of whiskey fell down on the ground, but it seemed like I was the only one who cared.

The others didn't bother looking in the direction of the sound, which I was quite grateful for. I don't think I can handle other people's attention right now.

The woman held onto Jared's collar, trying to pull him in for another kiss. Jared remained frozen, so I stood there just watching them kiss for the second time.

I took a step back and felt myself faltering. If it weren't for Cupid, who supported my back, I would have fallen down on the ground.

"Let's go?" I heard him whisper into my ears.

I held onto his ar

Gillian He stepped on the car brakes, making me jolt forward. I looked behind us and sighed in relief when I saw that we didn't have a car following behind us. I then turned to him with wide eyes and gently slapped his shoulder. "What the hell, Cupid? Were you trying to kill us?" He just sat there, his hands frozen on the steering wheel, somewhat looking dazed. I snapped my fingers in front of his eyes to snap him out of his daze. That caused him to shake his head and look at me with questioning eyes. "Are you drunk or something? Did you drink something in the club without me knowing?" I tilted my head to the side in confusion. "Drunk? I'm not. And we ran out of the club as soon as I saw Jared. How would I have the time to drink any alcohol?" Although a can of beer sounds really tempting right now, I really didn’t have a chance to drink anything back in the club. "Then I must be hallucinating," he muttered under his breath. The more he spoke, the more he confused me. "Whe

Gillian "Faster, please," I moaned into his neck. He was carelessly pounding into me, and I honestly didn't know how long we'd been doing this. "Ah, fuck," he groaned into my ear, making me let out another moan. I held him tighter in my arms, craving his fiery heat. Fuck. I'm definitely going to regret this. How the hell did we even get here? We were just fighting, then drinking, and suddenly we were on the bed, doing what I'd never even imagined. Well, let's turn back time for a few hours. After sharing my story with Cupid, I felt an indescribable feeling of relief. It seems as if a heavy weight was just lifted off my body. But then, it suddenly hit me. How did he know that Jared had been cheating on me all this time? My eyebrows furrowed as I looked at him. He realized the sudden change of mood, so he turned to me with eyes of curiosity. "Do you have anything more to say?" I pursed my lips together and looked him in the eyes. "How long have you known that Jared has

Gillian I woke up with a throbbing forehead. The sunlight had seeped into the curtains, hitting my eyes and waking me up from my slumber. I groaned in pain and covered my eyes with my arms, and only then did I realize that I couldn’t just move freely. Still, with my eyes closed, I felt for my surroundings. The bed felt softer...warmer too, but my hand came across something warmer—a living being. I quickly snapped my eyes open when I finally realized where I was. Cupid had one of his arms wrapped around my waist while my head rested on his chest. In short, I was trapped in his arms and couldn’t escape even if I wanted to. I let out a quiet sigh and pinched my forearm. “Stupid, Gillian. You’re so fucking stupid,” I whispered to myself. What the hell am I going to do now? Well, the first thing that I need to do is find a way to get out of here. I don’t know how I’m going to do that when I don’t even have a car, nor do I have any idea where we specifically are, but I’ll cross the

Trigger warning! Sexual coercion Gillian He banged on the door once again, making me flinch. I took a step away from the door and covered my mouth, muffling my breath. Maybe if I stay silent enough, he’ll believe that I’m not here. “Gillian, I know you’re in there. I heard music playing, so I know you’re in there. Don’t make this harder for the two of us, and just let me in,” he said in a shaky voice, triggering an unwanted fear in my body. I quietly walked to my room and locked the door. I then paced back and forth, hoping that the security guards would soon come and help me. But, I guess this is the bad side of living in an old and beat-up apartment. The elevators haven’t been working ever since I came here, and the security guards rarely showed up. I think those are also the reasons why most of the tenants have moved out of this apartment complex. Aside from the deaf old lady in the room by the corner, I was the only one who lived on this floor. That means that I was practica

Gillian "Huh?" He chuckled. "How many times do I have to repeat myself, Gillian? Come and live with me for the meantime. Just until you sort this out.” "Well, you can't blame me! I thought you didn't like having other people in your home? Why are you asking me to come live with you?" "You're not just "other people," Gillian. You're my secretary. In a sense, you are under my care. And frankly, I don't want to go through the trouble of finding another secretary when you're the only one who can keep up with my work ethic." Oh. So, that's the reason. I looked down on my lap. "But, I don't want to burden you anymore. You've already helped me enough. I'll just live in my apartment for a couple of days, and I'll try to look for another place by the end of the week. I just wish that there's a place that's cheaper than this one." "And what's the guarantee that Jared wouldn't find you in your new apartment?" he asked. I pursed my lips together. "Whether you want to accept it or not,

Cupid I'm fond of Gillian. That much I can confirm. When she's in distress, I want to take away her sadness and carry it as my own. Whenever she’s talking, I can’t help but fawn over her genuine expressions and excited gestures. She looks so passionate and engaging that it makes me very interested in what she is saying. Even right now, she's speaking so passionately as if we aren't on the cold and hard floor. She was lying on top of my chest while my arms rested on her waist. She talked about her last job and how difficult it was to work with the employees there. I was so lost in our conversation that I didn't even notice that Cyrus had already walked inside the house. "WHAT THE FUCK?" he screamed as he saw our current position. From a stranger's point of view, we must have looked very promiscuous. I mean, she is literally on top of me while our faces are very near to each other. Gillian quickly stood up, and I followed. We smoothed down our clothes and then turned to

Gillian It was yet another Monday, and Cupid and I were currently in his car, driving towards the company building. I awkwardly glanced at him and saw his stoic expression. I don't know if it's only my imagination or not, but Cupid hasn’t been acting like himself since yesterday. It was as if he was the one who got broken up with between the two of us. He hasn’t been speaking much, and he avoided my eyes more often than not. Honestly, I thought I would feel much more depressed after finding out that Jared had cheated on me multiple times in our relationship, but surprisingly, I didn't feel that lonely. Maybe it's because I saw his true colors and realized that I would never want him back. A part of it may also be because Cupid was there to make me feel like I wasn't alone. However, yesterday, after his conversation with Cyrus, he seemed more silent and distant than usual. Even now that we're in his car, he's still not speaking, and only the faint sound of the music playing on

Gillian This was the first time that I've seen Cupid like this. He was usually calm, composed—like nothing can really phase him, but right now, he was a stammering, blushing mess. "I—I...What are you talking about?" he spluttered. I kept my face serious since I wanted to see him get flustered for a little longer. “I'm just kidding," I finally said when I saw that he couldn't find the right words. I let out a giggle when I saw him become even more embarrassed than before. "Why are you so embarrassed? It was just a joke," I chuckled. He cleared his throat and ran his fingers through his hair. "Y—yeah. I was joking too." I raised one of my eyebrows. "Now that you don't seem so uptight as before, do you want to talk about why you've been avoiding me since yesterday?" He coughed out and then patted his chest. "What do you mean? I'm not ignoring you,” he awkwardly said. "Are you sure?" He sighed. "Yes. I'm just...tired." "Did Cyrus say something to you or something? Or maybe

Axel excitedly dialed Cupid's number, ready to tell him about the unexpected news. As much as the two of them try to deny it, they both know, deep inside their hearts, that they treat each other as very good friends. "Yo," Axel said into the phone. "I have something to tell you." "Axel!" Cupid greeted in an equally jolly voice. "I was just about to call you too. I also have some great news." Axel became a little suspicious when he heard that Cupid, too, had some good news, but nothing could really take away from his happiness after the news that he had just heard. "You go first, then," Axel presented since he is in a good mood. "Nah, man. You go first. You're the one who called me first. Go ahead," Cupid responded. "No, you." "No, you go first." "No, YOU go first." "No, you're the one who should go first." They endlessly said to each other. In the end, Axel sighed in frustration. "Let's just say it at the same time, alright. Then we'll explain it individually afterward." "Fi

"Did you get it?" Rain excitedly said as she went out of her office. Liam looked up from his laptop and focused his attention on Rain. "Get what?" Rain sighed in frustration. "The invitation!" "What invitation?" he asked, confused. Rain walked closer to him and went behind his back. "I told you to check your personal email more often. Come on, open up your account." Liam quickly opened up his personal email account and clicked on the latest message. He read the contents of the email. "A high school reunion?" "Yeah," Rain nodded her head. "Let's go together." Liam smiled. In the course that they have been dating, he could feel that Rain had changed for the better. She had gained so much confidence over the past few months, and Liam feels proud knowing that she had grown to love and appreciate herself even more. "Yeah, let's go together. "This is it," Cupid removed his hands from Gillian's eyes, revealing a spacious yet cozy-looking infrastructure filled with antique designs. "Our new bakery." Gillian looked at the infrastructure in awe, and suddenly got teary-eyed when she realized that they were going to be having a new chapter in their life. Cupid chuckled as he observed his wife's teary eyes. "Why are you crying? This is supposed to be a happy event, love." Gillian wiped her tears with her sleeves and tried her hardest not to cry. "I know, love. I'm just so proud of the two of us." Ever since Gillian and Cupid had been married, they started thinking more about their future. They both knew that Cupid's investments would be more than enough to provide for their everyday needs, but they still would want to have a steady, stable income where the two of them can work together. And as someone who enjoys cooking and baking quite a lot, Cupid suggested that they open a cafe near Briana's restaurant. He thought that

Olivia and Dallas gazed back and forth between Liam who was on stage and Rain who was sitting right next to them. Olivia couldn't help but let out a small chuckle when she saw Rain's flushed face as other people also started teasing her. "How the fuck did he know what I was going to wear?" she asked. Dallas shook his head. "I went with him. He definitely didn't know. He just grabbed the first sweater he saw at Target. Must be destiny or something." Rain knew that Dallas was joking when he told her about destiny, but she couldn't help but blush at the thought that they might really be destined for each other. Liam, who saw Rain from a distance, was also shocked to see that they were wearing the same sweaters. He smiled to himself as he watched Rain getting teased by her other co-workers. 'I knew that going to Target would be a good idea,' he thought in his mind. "Good evening, everyone!" Liam finally said into the mic. The crowd cheered and clapped their hands, ready to star

When Liam told Rain that he would show her how he truly feels, she thought that he was just joking.
