Sleeping on the couch did a real number on my back, walking up to the guest room I grab some of my new clothes and hop in the shower. She’s still sleeping so hopefully, I can get in and out before she wakes up. Scrubbing shampoo in my hair I can’t help but think about how adorable she looks when she’s sleeping. She is going to wake up covered in my scent and that somehow makes me happy. Letting the water wash over my head rising out the shampoo I close my eyes picturing her body and face. Max isn’t helping when he shows me pictures of what he thinks she looks like naked. He is such a perv. Taking a loofah I squirt some of the body wash on it, scrubbing it in till it gets bubbly then washing my body with it, at that moment I heard footsteps heading towards the door. Knowing the steam from the shower has clouded the door if it’s her she won’t be able to see anything. The door opens and I can’t quite tell if it’s her. The person lifts the toilet lid up, placing the seat down before sitting down on it.
Yup it’s her.
“ Did you carry me to bed?” She asked sleepy, her voice is raspy and low.
“ well?” She asks rubbing her eyes
“ uh yeah I did, I slept on the couch to give you some space.” I answer
“ You could have just slept in the bed with me.” She mumbled under her breath
“ what?”
“ nothing try not to use all the hot water please.” She says walking back out of the bathroom.
I finish up my shower, step out I throw on the towel around my waist and walk out to the room.
“ Sorry I forgot my clothes on the dresser.” I announce
“ It's fine I’m getting in the shower anyways.” She mumbled walking past closing the bathroom door behind her. I put on boxers, thermal jeans and black sweatshirt. Sitting on the bed I put on my socks and snow boots. Getting back up I walk over to the mirror connected to the dresser and use the towel to shake my hair as dry as I can get it. I try to wait for her to get out of the shower but after 20 minutes goes by I put my watch on to head out of the room. Just as I open the door the bathroom door swings open and she walks out in just a towel. Her face is flaring red as if she’s embarrassed about something.
“ I forgot I don’t have clothes here.” She whispers clenching the towel in her hands
“ I can walk over to your house to get some if you'd like?” I asked
“ My house key is the blue one, on my car keys. All my clothes are in the closet in my bathroom” she explains
“ Please don’t touch anything or snoop.” She sighed stepping back into the bathroom
“ I promise. I’ll be right back, lock this door behind me and don’t open it for anyone. I’ll knock three times when I get back with your clothes.” I tell her
“ Okay hurry I’m cold.” She says with her teeth chattering together.
“ here” I hand her a sweatshirt that still has a tag on it
“ Wear this and get back in bed till I get back.” I tell her walking out the door
The house is quiet so I’m guessing everyone else is still sleeping, looking at the clock on the stove it says 6:30am yeah definitely still sleeping. Grabbing her keys from the counter I walk out the front door, closing it slowly behind me. The crunching of the deep snow under my feet makes it hard to be quick. Once I get to her house I unlock it pushing the door open. Her house is warm and comforting like my grandparents house, it’s a warm brown color on the outside and warm fall colors on the inside. Her kitchen looks small but that could be because of the tall squared table in the corner taking up most of the room. There's plants and signs everywhere. Walking toward the stairs the living room looks just as comfy with a grey couch, glass coffee table and a huge flat screen tv, with plants and knickknacks hanging on the walls and shelves. Heading up the brown wooden stairs there is only one room. Walking in you get hit with her scent immediately. It’s the same fall colors as the kitchen besides the grey fuzzy blankets on the bed and millions of pillows. Her scent is all over the place but mostly in here. Walking over to get to the bathroom, I open the closet door. I don’t snoop just because she asked nicely, grabbing a pair of laced underwear and the bra that matched, I pair it with a grey and white striped sweater that seems to twist on one side with a pair of black leggings that feel soft on the inside. She had the tiniest socks I've ever seen picking the long grey ones. I grab her brown fuzzy boots to complete the outfit. Locking her house back up I walk back over to the house. The snow makes it really hard to do anything other than walk. So glad I live where it never gets cold enough for this shit. Quietly heading in, I rush up the stairs to the room.
*knock*knock*knock*
She unlocks the door and pulls it open. She looks at me surprised by what I brought. Honestly, I think she could have stayed with just the sweatshirt on. It went all the way past her knees. She goes to the bathroom to get dressed.
“ You did a decent job,” she says, walking back out. She pulled on the hair tie around her wrist tying her hair into a low ponytail. She looks herself over once in the mirror before smiling and walking out of the room with last night's clothes in hand.
Letting out a sigh I rub the bridge of my nose and head out of the room as well
“ It's gonna be a while before anyone else is up, where are you going?” I asked
“ to the market. I like to get fresh foods for your grams and gramp before they wake up.” She whispers
“ I can come with you so you don’t have to go alone.” I suggest trying to keep a distance between us but close enough she can hear me still when I whispered
“ Are you sure? You don’t have to.” She smiles
“ I don’t mind.”
“ okay but I’m driving” she winks heading out of the door grabbing her coat off the hook
“ Why did you not like my driving?” I gasped following her
“ Your driving was fine. I just like getting some driving in at least once a day” she states
“ Oh okay.”
Hopping into the car I cut on her seat warmer and the heat.
“ uh thanks” she mumbles buckling her seat belt.
“ So how far is the market?” I asked
“ It's only about 30 minutes away.” She answers starting the engine
most of the trip was quite beside her answering my questions
“ Here we are!” She cheers parking the car
“ Are you coming in?” She looks at me so hopeful
"Oh did you expect that I was going to just sit here in the car?” I mock
“ yeah I did” she smiles stepping out
The shopping part took longer than I thought. I didn't let her pay for a single thing which I could tell frustrated her. The trip back seemed faster than the trip there. I unload the car without letting her carry a single bag. She learned that the hard way when we got done shopping. She insisted she put it away because I don’t know where anything is which is fair. I learned a lot about her over these short few hours. But it doesn’t matter, we leave in a few days and there’s no way she’d leave this life behind, and I won’t force her to.
“ boss.” Creed yelled barging into the guest room I’m staying in “What?” I mumbled with a pillow over my head “ The stuff for the cameras should arrive tomorrow morning” he announced “ okay? You woke me up to tell me that?” I growled tucking the pillow around my head “ yeah so you can get a move on with Charlotte because we will be leaving in three day?” He huffed tugging on the blanket “ get the fuck out Creed” I yell “ Okay but that’s your funeral when you miss out on it.”He states I don’t say anything till I hear the door close “ fucking prick” I mumble to myself
“ Boss, I finished fixing those cameras. Would you like me to hook them up?” Creed asked holding them in his hands “Yes.” “ you okay sir?” Creed asks “ Yes, I'm fine.” “ Are you sure? You look heartbroken” he mocked drawing tears with his finger down his cheek “ how can I be heartbroken when me and her aren’t even together?” I hissed “ say that to your face” he chuckled walking away “ fucking prick” I mumble to myself " I heared that" he yelled Okay I’ll admit I'm a little sad that I will
We left early this morning before she came over. I know it makes me a cowardly of me for how I did it but she made herself clear that this isn’t what she wanted. Max whimpers and whines as we get further and further away from her. But I shove him to the back of my mind. The last thing I need is him making me feel worse than I already do. There was another rogue attack while I was gone but my men told me it was the same ones that killed that young girl, they have one in custody and hopefully they will spill whatever they know about these attacks. I know what you are thinking. I should have fought for her. well this isn't one of those kinds of stories. Leaning back in my seat, I really need to make these more comfortable. I put on my headphones and listened to the pack report Neal sent me yesterday. Not being able to sleep, I watch movies on my laptop while I drink some hot chocolate. It h
Charlotte POV He left, just walking out as if these feelings meant nothing. I mean I can’t say I helped when I said I wouldn’t mind if he left me behind. But I wasn’t expecting him to actually listen. I’ve gone my whole life angry about what happened to my family. The rogue that killed them seeked power, to be worshipped. No one should be forced to rule under some jackass. I learned this world is cold and heartless before I even hit puberty. I traveled a lot moving from state to state, town to town. I’d hide in trees and live in abandoned buildings people left to build up dust. Doesn’t sound like the best way to live but it was better than what he wanted me for. I’m a half breed, my dad was a human and my mother was a wolf. She didn’t care that my father was human; he tried really hard to fit in with everyone in the pack! They met when she was at a cafe in Italy, he explained it as a disaster because he forgot how to talk an
Have you ever felt like your soul has been cut into two halves? Or that you have a part of yourself you don’t quite understand yet? How’d you deal with it? Because I have been chilling on the couch trying to figure out what to do with myself. Looking around all I see is things, materials that are used to fill up the empty space in this house. None of it is truly important or needed, but it makes the place feel more homey and warm. Without it the house would feel like an empty box with painted walls and windows. That's why it's important to have people in your life, because otherwise life would be plain and leave you hollow inside. But trying to live life in general does that to you already right? Because life doesn’t come with a manual on who you are supposed to be or how you are supposed to act during difficult situations. You just do your best and hope you make the right ones. Some are born blessed with everything handed to them or their lives alread
Alex POV Covering over all the details of how that little girl died. I’ve still got nothing, however the new rogue member has found herself helpful by giving us coordinates to where their pack is. We’ve been setting up plans on ways to get on the inside before they figure out we know where they are. Creed has set up cameras in the woods pointing towards their territory. They have 9 people on morning patrol and 12 at night. Weird they have more at night than during the day. The ‘king’ hasn’t come close to the line and makes me wonder if he ever leaves. Sighing I hand Ryan the photos he brought to me that he took this morning. Getting the photos helps me send them to red who researches people for me. He’s great at his job. He found out about everything about everyone in the pack in a week.“ Creed, what do you know about the attack I heard about in my grandparents' town yesterday?” I asked&n
Charlotte POV Waking up groggy I walked to the kitchen for some water, yawning. I open the fridge and grab a bottle, opening it and taking a few sips. The sun isn’t up yet and I still have a lot of work to do on my car, I still haven’t been able to figure out what’s wrong with it. When I first got it I took it apart and put it back together so I’d know everything about it, so when days like this came along I wouldn’t have this issue. However I’m stumped. I put in a new battery, changed the spark plugs, breaks, tires, everything I could with what I had around the house. Gramps offered for me to use his car to go to the store, which I plan on doing when the sun comes up. He said they went out to the town yesterday afternoon and the smoke had cleared up some and should be fully cleared in the morning, which is good because food has gone from could be used to needed. It's been a week since my car shut d
Alex POV Pushing up some meetings for when I get back home from Europe. “Creed! Does Alpha Elijah have the plan to set up security around his border line to make sure his children in his pack are safe?” I asked “ Yes sir.” He signed plopping down in the chair in front of my desk. Sitting at my desk I go over lunch schedules for meetings I can’t pushback. As I typed out an email my phone starts vibrating on my desk. “ you going to get that?” Creed asked “ yeah in just a second, stamp this, mail this and file this” I tell him handing him papers beforepicking it up, the first thing I can tell is it’s Charlotte

*5 years later* Alex POV Have you ever wanted to be someone else? That was the question that I’ve been asking myself all these years. With the stress of life getting me down I couldn't help but wonder what it would of been like. But now I wouldn’t ever want to change a thing. Charlotte is strong, she’s a warrior in disguise. Never in my lifetime would I have thought that someone so small, so beautiful, would turn my life upside down for the better. She's over come all her fears and became everything the pack needs in a Luna plus more. We’ve made three beautiful children. That are more then a handful and keep me on my toes that's for sure. My daughter Lilly, she’s the strongest out of all three of them. Determined. She wants to be alpha one day, but I've told her she can't since her brother is first born. She's ranked
“ So what made you think I wouldn’t come for you?” I started swinging around the knife in my hand “ Char. This isn’t you” Creed huffed from outside the cell. He was kicked out when he decided he didn’t want to hand me the knife. “ What are you going to do Charlotte? Hmm? Listen to him, this isn’t you. You aren’t a killer. I bet you didn’t even kill that alpha either. It would have changed you. But not like this” he grunted, spitting out blood. Not that it mattered. “ I’m not going to kill you. I’m going to make you want me to kill you. Then I’ll let you go. You’ll stink of blood and the rogues hanging around our borders won’t hesitate to take advantage of attacking you. See you lied to me. Betrayed me. Gave me up to die while you hid for your own life. And when I go back to that hole in the ground. I’
After my long talk with Alex he didn’t seem very pleased about me telling Creed first. But I couldn’t help it. It just came out like word vomit. But he wasn’t mad at me like I thought he would be. Instead he held me close and kissed me. I didn’t tell him about Creed kissing me on the forehead though. Because it felt right, and comforting. Henry had been retrieved and brought to the pack house cells. After spilling what I’ve been holding to myself he felt it wouldn’t be smart for me to go back there until I can overcome what happened. And maybe he’s right. I asked him if he was found where I told him and he said yes but once I’m better he suggested I should go and look at the place myself. I haven’t been there since we were kids so I’m sure it doesn’t look much different from then. Well unless Henry did something to it. Sitting in the kitchen I wait for breakfast to be made while I sip a
“ You are so delicious dear.” He hummed in my ear with his hand pinning me down. Looking around the room I search for a way out. Something to hit him upside his head. At this moment I prayed to the goddess that I could shift. I’d shift right now no matter how much it hurt or if it killed me. He moved his right hand off my hip and gripped my jaw making me look at him. All I see is pure evil in his eyes. With my free hand I reach for the book he picked up off the ground. “ shhhh calm down dear. I promise you’ll enjoy this.” He smiled, reaching his hand down between us. Tears rub down my face as I reach for the book the best I could. Trying not to alarm him, I press my fingertips against the cover trying to flip it over. “ Why don’t we lose these pants huh?” He whispered, pressing his lips against my cheek. Pressing harder on the book it flips over l
Charlotte POV I didn’t mean to cut my leg as badly as I did, but I also tell myself I didn’t mean to kill him. Hearing Alex’s voice it was sure Creed would rat me out to him, tell him everything. But he didn’t. He finished cleaning me up, explaining to me that Alex will be joining us for lunch and it would be wise to wear pants otherwise he’ll notice and will have questions. It seemed smart but I don’t want to hide anything from him. The last thing I need is him growing suspicion between me and Creed. Putting on a pair of Jean shorts and a kind of nice shirt that buttoned up. I decided to leave my hair down. Only adding some leave- in conditioner to help keep it from tangling too bad. Walking out of the bathroom I slip on my sneakers and head downstairs with Creed. Alex was waiting by the front door in a pair of jeans and a black t- shirt.
Okay I’ll admit I didn’t like the idea of her coming along as we hung down the guy I handed her over to. But she was right, she’s the only person who knows where this place is. After spending that night with her in the living room we’ve still been sleeping in different rooms. As much as I want to, I don't want to push anything on her. She’s finally talking again even though it’s always only about the pack and Henry she’s still talking. I love hearing her voice. But the way Creed was staring at her yesterday was weird, I need to make a note to discuss that with him. I understand that they’ve gotten pretty close since he saved her but he looks at her differently. Writing an email out to everyone about the Luna ceremony needing to be Postponed until she’s ready. Hopefully my grandparents will understand, my grandma has only been planning it since my sister's ceremony. Granted that was rushed due to her having my first nephew. I still don’t understand why
“ Wake up!” Creed yelled through my head making me jerk “ This better be important” I growled back looking down at Charlotte sleeping next to me. She rolled over late in the night away from me, as much as I wanted to stop her and hold her tight I didn’t. She's curled up in a ball hugging one of the pillows with the blanket over her head “ I think we know where Henry took off to” he said making me sit up “ Where are you?” I asked standing up from my spot stretching my arms and legs “ in your office” he said, cutting off the link. Sighing I look over to her knowing I should wake her up. Pulling the blanket off her she groans hugging her legs “ you’ve got to get up” I tell her in a calm voice&n
Alex POV She stormed out after hearing me say I wanted her to become my Luna sooner than later. She almost died.. not because we were attacked but because I sent her out to the person that wanted to kill her. No sign of Henry when we showed up either. I made Ryan search the territory for his body. He had to have skipped out before we showed up. I need to find him, I want him dead. He’s the whole reason she got mixed up in this mess. I can see the pain in her eyes every time I look at her. Since we got her back she hasn’t looked at me nor wanted to touch me. I’ve been sleeping in my office because the cold shoulder in bed kind of sucks. Creed and her have gotten closer than I like. I still don’t understand why she’s so attached to him all of a sudden. Grandma tried talking to her again this morning but she said she still won’t even look at her. After dinner I followed her scent and it led he
