Violet asks Jade to stay behind her as the both of them reach outside. Violet looks from her left to right, seeing no one out, even the guards she turns back to Jade.
"Jade. It's about 12:30 am now. The guards are on a break from 12:30 am to 12:45 am. That gives you fifteen minutes to escape, shift into your wolf when you reach the pack border. Mask your scent and keep running south, five hours into the run, it will lead you to the main highways and it would lead you towards a human town. My aunt lives there, so you don't have to worry about the living arrangements. I've told her everything and got it covered." Violets words make Jade emotional.
Honestly, she didn't know what she did to deserve such a great and helpful friend like Violet. She will forever be thankful to Violet.
Her chest heaves up and down with fear and anxiety. It was a chilly night causing goosebumps to arise on her skin. She could feel her heart beating inside her chest. Her hands shake. There is only one way to escape this now. She can't escape them without doing this. She was standing alone against the Alpha and warriors of the most strongest pack in the world. She couldn't take them down. She takes a deep breath in. Inhaling the scent of nature. Closing her eyes and feeling the energy crackle around her form slowly at first but later on growing.Adryan's wolf Vince watches in confusion as Jade stands still, closing her eyes.
A pained groan leaves his lips as he sits up. He looks around finding himself in the middle of the forest, near the border of the pack. Confusion fills his mind when he couldn't remember how he ended up here of all places. He finds a few of his warriors a few distance away from him, the ones who were in charge of night patrol unconscious or just waking up and looking around them cluelessly. Clearly confused how they ended up almost at the edge of the forest. He could feel his wolf, trying to communicate with him."What is it?" Adryan questions."Mate" Vince whimpers in his mind.
1 week later It had been a week since she left and to say that he had been a wreck would be an understatement. He had been searching for her the past week like a thirsty man in search of water in the desert. His pack members have been relentlessly searching for her, day and night. But it was the same thing everytime they came back from the search. With their head hung low they would utter the words that made him and his wolf go crazy. "I'm sorry Alpha, we couldn't find her." Those words were enough for his control to snap like how a thin thread snaps into two.
The leaves scrunch under her bare feet as she walks forward. She had no idea about where she was. She could tell that it was night time, by how the owl hooted in the distance and the cool air whipped around and nipped occasionally at her skin causing shivers to run down her form. The scent of death lingered around in the air along with the hint of something that had been recently burned. She could see the aftermaths of it too. The ground beneath her was burned, the grass was dark as coal and charred. She felt weird, something wasn't right. It took her a few minutes to realise what, which caused her eyes to widen like saucers. She
3 years later Walking up in the morning and seeing the world was something Jade was thankful for. It had been three years since she gained her eye sight and she didn't miss any moment to cherish the blessing or take it for granted. Getting out of the bed, she walks into the bathroom attached to the room. Doing her normal morning business she comes out of the bathroom. An instant smile travels her face as she her eyes catch the sight of the small figure siting up on the small bed or crib. Walking towards the crib, with the smile still on her face she watches as the tiny figure sat inside the crib, with their back facing towards Jade, as they played with the soft toys that they went to sleep with in the night.
Finally after a fifteen minute walk Jade stands outside the 'La Douceur'. This was the bakery Scarlett owned in the heart of Winston. People here loved the baked goods the bakery had to offer hence the hustle and bustle infront of Jade, she watched as people sat in the booths, chit chatting, and smiling. This was the one of the few bakeries in town, so it was obviously famous among the locals. Winston was a small town slash village kind of community. A tight-knit community of people. Tall trees and thick rain forest areas were common here, this place oozed calmness and brings peace to ones soul. People here were friendly and hospitable. She can't count the amount of people who had offered her help during her pregnancy. She was almost at the verge of crying, which might've made some people look at her
Grayson looked stunned at the woman standing in front of him. He couldn't believe his eyes, shock filling his features. This female was the same one his Alpha had been searching for, for the past three years he had been on a hunt, and here she was standing infront of Grayson in all her glory. His Alpha had been relentless in the search for her. As the days passed on, he got more angrier, and lashed out at smallest of mistakes. People in the pack were scared but they respected the man, for he had been keeping them same from an exterior threat for so long. Putting his pack's safety before his needs. They have been walking in eggshells around him, fear of setting him off anytime clouding their
Tightening the hold on the baseball bat, she swings the door open.Just as she swings open the door, her emerald green eyes meet a pair of ocean blue eyes. It felt like time stopped, as she stared at the stranger, she could feel her wolf stirring within her. She could also feel the mate bond, which had been dormant for three long years crackling again. Her heart beat sky rockets as she stares at the man who was her supposed mate. The wooden baseball bat dropping to the ground as shock enters her system. Her hands start trembling. The addictive scent of vanilla entering her nostrils like a breath of fresh air. Luring her in.
