Chapter 7

Once everyone arrived at Jensen's house they all went downstairs into the finished basement to play pool and watch movies.

Allison was starting to feel sick after being in the cold so long so Jensen offered to take her home or let her lay down and rest in their guest bedroom.

Allison opted to lay down for a little while with plans to join the others later. She wasn't ready to go home and face her mother.

Jensen was periodically checking in on her quietly so he didn't disturb her. He plugged her phone into the charger so she could use it when she woke up.

Since her type of phone automatically turns on when it's connected to the charger it tuned on and messages from her mom started flooding in.

Jensen wasn't typically nosey but he couldn't help but read a few of the messages that popped up on the screen.

some of them read

"Allison I know you've turned your phone off you little b!tch."

"I swear when you get home you're in so much trouble. How dare you ignore me all day."

"If you're not home in 1h don't bother coming home tonight. you'll need to find a place to stay because I'm done putting up with your disrespect."

"I'm sorry Allison I love you and want you to come home We're going to be a foster family and help little kids that don't have a home. I need your help setting up the house."

message after message continued to come in but Jensen had seen enough already and didn't want to keep reading Allison's messages.

Jensen couldn't believe how evil her mom was one second and how she could just flip a switch and be a totally different person the next.

He decided not to wake Allison up and just let her sleep.

Later around 2am Allison woke up and realized she was still at Jensen's house. She went out of the guest room to find everyone else had gone home.

Brittany had texted her saying she was sorry for leaving her there but her little brother had gotten sick and she didn't want anyone else to catch whatever it was.

Allison jumped a little when she saw someone sitting in a chair not too far from where she was standing. she didn't notice him there when she had walked into the room.

It was Jensen and he was asleep. She decided to try and wake him so that he could get in bed. He jumped a little when she first touched him. He was already starting to care for Allison a lot.

He sat up and rubbed his eyes. Allison offered him the bed she had been sleeping in. He declined and they started talking instead.

They talked until around 5am and fell asleep laying on the floor next to each other.

Around 6:30am Jensen's mom came down to check on the two. She couldn't help but smile when she saw them together. She was hopeful that Allison would be the one for Jensen. There was just something so different about her that his mom really liked.

Later that day around 11am Jensen and Allison woke up and went upstairs.

Jensen's dad was just getting back in town from his work trip. Jackson was a little older probably in his Mid 40s. He introduced himself to Allison with a warm smile and friendly handshake.

Nora and Jackson went upstairs to the 2nd floor where their bedroom was located and shut the door so they could talk.

Jensen offered to have his parents take Allison home after lunch.

Allison checked her phone and let out a small sigh. Jensen pulled Allison to him and wrapped her in his arms just as she started softly crying.

She gently pushed away from Jensen but he only held her tighter.

"We don't have to take you home right now Allie, you're welcome to stay as long as you'd like. I know my parents won't mind." Jensen softly whispered as he spoke to Allison.

It made her feel better that he seemed to care so much.

Nora and Jackson came downstairs after Nora told Jackson what had been happening while he was away.

They offered to let Allison stay in the guest bedroom as long as she'd like. She thanked them several times but ultimately decided to go home and face the wrath of her mother.

Nora Dropped Allison off a few feet from her driveway so that Allison wouldn't be in more trouble with her mother.

Jensen got out of the car with Allison and hugged her again. He lightly kissed the top of her head and told her if she needed anything at all to call or text him and he gave her his number.
