They sat silently for a few minutes, sipping their tea. Sarah was enjoying her moment of blissful peace, but when she looked over at Harris, she saw he was frowning deeply, his brow furrowed.
"Are you okay?"
"Hmm?" he blinked, snapping out of whatever reverie he had been in. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just thinking."
Sarah waited patiently, wondering what about her question had upset him.
He ran a hand through his already disheveled black hair. "It's just... I've been wanting to tell you something, but I didn't know how."
"Tell me."
He sighed. "I've wanted to tell you for a while about how I truly felt about you. I've always been afraid that it would ruin our friendship. So I waited for the perfect time. But I'm glad I don't have to wait anymore, because you told me how you felt instead."
He leaned forward, placing his hand on top of hers. His green eyes met hers and Sarah found herself lost within them. "I love you, Sarah.," he said softly.
"I..." She closed her eyes, trying hard to hold back tears. She could feel herself getting emotional again. "I love you, too," she whispered.
"Can I kiss you?" His voice sounded so quiet, like a whisper.
Sarah nodded eagerly, leaning over slightly. He hesitated for a moment, before gently lifting her chin, cupping her cheek with one hand. Forcing herself to open her eyes again, Sarah saw he was gazing at her with an affectionate expression. He lifted her face, and slowly, hesitantly, kissed her. Sarah gave a sigh of contentment against his lips, closing her eyes and melting into him, as he held her tightly against him.
His arms tightened around her waist and pulled her close, deepening the kiss, as he ran a hand up her spine and rested it on her shoulder. She felt her body growing warm and tingly, her legs quivering. She wrapped her arms loosely around his neck, pulling him closer, reveling in the closeness they shared. She could feel the heat radiating from his body as she slid her hands along the sides of his chest and up under his T shirt, feeling the smooth skin beneath her fingers. He moaned into the kiss, his hands moving down to her hips and then, wrapping their arms around her legs, he lifted her effortlessly from the ground carrying her bridal style out of the kitchen, and straight over to the couch in the living room. Putting her gently down, he slowly broke apart from the kiss, and pressed his forehead against hers.
He felt her heavy breathing, it came out ragged and laboured. Her heart was beating so fast and wildly, it seemed to be going crazy.
When he raised his head, a soft smile spread across his handsome features. Looking up at him, Sarah felt dizzy, her knees weak. She felt lightheaded as his dark eyes locked on hers, glowing brightly. The intensity in his gaze made her shiver involuntarily.
Harris placed his hands gently on either side of her face, running his thumbs across her cheeks, caressing her lightly with his fingertips. With a gentle touch he brushed a stray hair behind her ear.
Sarah swallowed heavily, unable to believe that this was happening. She didn’t dare move, afraid she might wake up and find she was dreaming.
Then Harris leaned down and placed his lips once again upon hers, kissing her with such tenderness, so delicately, as if afraid that she might disappear. She could taste the sweet cherry tea that she had just taken. His lips moved expertly against hers, as if he had done this many times before. His tongue swirled seductively against hers, tasting her and exploring her mouth thoroughly, causing her to moan softly. Her fingers curled themselves against his broad shoulders, holding on for dear life. His hands traveled from her face to her hair, tangling his fingers in the thick mass and pulling gently. Sarah moaned again, arching her back in response, causing her breasts to press against his chest. He shifted his weight, allowing himself to lay her fully down on the cushions. He began trailing kisses from her jaw line, down her neck, towards her collarbone. Sarah gasped as his lips brushed the sensitive spot on her neck, causing her to tremble and squirm beneath him.
The sound of someone clearing their throat interrupted their moment, drawing their eyes away from each other. They both jumped slightly, startled by the interruption.
They turned their heads towards the doorway of the living room, where they saw Amanda standing there. Sarah let go of Harris' shoulders, embarrassed, her cheeks red. Harris stood up, still holding Sarah's hand as they faced Amanda.
"Sorry to interrupt but I need you two to come back to the kitchen and help me get things ready for dinner," Amanda smirked.
Sarah chuckled, giving Harris’ hand a quick squeeze. "Alright, we're coming."
Later that evening, Sarah was sitting beside Harris on his bed, just the two of them. After helping to prepare a delicious homemade chicken dish for themselves, the three sat together in the kitchen to eat their meal. Apparently Harris's parents were out on vacation. Once they ate their meal, Sarah quickly helped Amanda with the dishes. Once that was done, Harris led her to his bedroom. When he opened the door, she found herself face to face with his large bed. It was big enough to fit two people comfortably, although she was guessing Harris only used it for himself rather than for any guest. The soft glow of the lamp next to the bed casted the room in warm yellow light. There were several bookshelves lining the wall filled with his favourite books, ranging from romance novels to science fiction series. The floor was carpeted with a plush rug, while the walls were adorned with posters of famous movie stars, artists, musicians and even some of his childhood memories. In addition to th
Sarah snuggled against him, closing her eyes, enjoying the feeling of him hugging her tightly. "Do you want to know something else?" She peeked one eye open curiously, looking at him questioningly. "Hmm?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. "I haven't been this happy in a very long time." She whispered softly. A small smile formed on his lips. He stroked the strands of her hair from her forehead, placing a soft kiss on her forehead before gazing into her clear blue eyes. "Me neither." He whispered softly. "Sarah, I want you to know... uh?" He asked cautiously. "You want me to know what?" she breathed softly, biting down on her lip. "Before I met you..." he trailed off, lowering his gaze. "I had no idea what happiness was like." A sad smile grew on his lips. "There was no one to talk to who understood me. No one to look forward to seeing, no one to laugh with or be silly with..." he trailed off, his voice growing quieter and weaker. Sarah tightened her hold on his hand, squeezing it
As the sun slowly began to rise, Harris awoke, smiling contentedly, his arms wrapped tightly around Sarah. His eyes remained shut, enjoying their closeness, while his mind wandered, remembering the previous night. They had spent the entire night making love, not caring about the time until they were eventually too tired, and both fell asleep, completely satisfied with their decision. He suddenly broke the blissful silence by whispering into her ear," Hey, Sarah, wake up." He kissed her shoulder lovingly. She opened her eyes sleepily and rubbed them, trying to adjust to the bright morning sunlight streaming through her window. Sarah yawned lazily as she stirred from her sleep, turning towards him to smile happily as she watched him watching her sleepily. "Good morning," she whispered, giving him a peck on his lips.He heard a faint mumble. With a small chuckle, he turned her head towards him, kissing her lightly on the lips. Then he leaned forward slowly, placing feather light kisses
Sarah believed Harris was a good match. She had faith in him, in his heart. He’d been kind to her, patient with her, but he still wasn’t in a place to commit to her. So when the opportunity arose to be alone with him in the school locker room, Sarah seized it. He looked up as she entered, eyes bright in the fluorescent light. “Hey,” he said. “What are you doing here?” “I wanted to talk to you,” she answered, smiling shyly at him. Her hand found his arm lightly and squeezed. His skin was smooth beneath her fingers. His face lit up with understanding. “Oh, yeah? What about?” He moved so that he could sit on the bench and, then tapped his hand on the bench, inviting her to join him. Instead of sitting next to him, like she should have, Sarah decided to be bold, and slid into his lap. She pressed against him, wrapping her legs around him. The warmth of his body enveloped her, making her feel safe and protected from everything out there. “You,” she breathed into his ear. Then she leane
The drive to Harris' house was silent. Sarah had no idea what she had gotten herself into. She was still reeling from their kiss, unable to shake the sensation of Harris' lips on her. She kept glancing over at Harris, studying his face. He was completely unselfconscious. In fact, he was grinning, almost laughing, looking straight ahead. As they turned onto the street, Sarah couldn't help noticing that he lived in a nice neighborhood. The homes themselves were all large and well maintained, some with multiple garages, others with separate garage doors. The houses had huge yards full of perfectly trimmed bushes and flowers. There were also trees lining the road, most of them tall, with branches reaching up into the sky. Most of the cars that passed them were big ones, SUVs or pickups or even motorcycles. Harris parked the car in his driveway. Without asking Sarah, he reached over and opened the door for her, giving her another blinding smile. She felt her cheeks flush again. As she got
