A low bassline thumps as I step into the private room and look around. There’s a long velvet couch against a wall and a table in front of it. There’s a fresh drink waiting for me, and I turn to the guy watching the door.“Are there cameras in here?” I ask, and he nods. “Do you sit out here the whole time?” He nods again as I pass him my credit card. After he runs it for the two grand, he passes it back, and I place it with the roll of money Tino gave me when we walked in the club. “Any chance you can give us some privacy?”“It’s time for my break.” He takes the roll and tucks it into his pocket. “And I forgot to tell someone to watch my chair while I’m gone.”“And the cameras?”“Damnedest thing.” He reaches over and clicks his computer. “They’ve been acting up all night.” The screen goes black, and I nod.Without another word, I walk over to the couch and take a seat. I check my watch, wondering how long it’s going to take Cathy to come in here. Cathy, if that’s really her real name.
My fingers dig into Chase’s broad shoulders as he finds out what I’ve been hiding from him. It’s shameful. I shouldn’t be getting off the way I am, but there’s no controlling it. When he’d pulled out his wallet and offered me more money to kiss me, I had to bite the inside of my cheek to keep from moaning. The truth is I would have done it without being paid. Now all I can think about is his mouth on other parts of me.“Yes,” I admit. “I’m sorry. This is supposed to be about you, but I can’t stop it.” I try to get up from his lap, but he stops me.“Don’t move,” he grits out between his teeth, clearly angry. “You always get worked up this way?” I shake my head instantly. Some of the tightness in his shoulders releases under my fingers.“This has never happened before, I swear.” His eyes search my face.I’m not sure what he’s trying to find there. I’ve always been told all my emotions play across my face and that I can’t hide anything. I’ve never had a reason to before now, but I don’t
My head still throbs as I sit at my desk and look out the window. There’s lots of people walking around below, and noise in the hallway can be heard through the door. I rub a hand over my face and close my eyes. The image of Cathy comes back, and I have to push the heel of my palm against my dick to get it to go down. She’s branded in every part of me and there hasn’t been one second since Saturday night that I haven’t thought about her,.I was even desperate enough to drive to the club on Sunday, but of course it was closed. There was one security guard in the empty parking lot, but he must have recognized me or heard about it because he wouldn’t say shit, no matter how much money I offered.Fucking Tino. After he punched the bouncer, there was a flurry of people shouting as they filled the small room. Over the loud music I tried to call out to Cathy, but the last time I looked at her there was another dancer with her arms around her, trying to shield her from the mayhem. I could swe
This is not happening. The same blue eyes I’ve been thinking about since Saturday night are locked on mine. I was so sure I’d never see them again, not with how everything ended. They narrow in on me for a second before he mutters something under his breath. He’s pissed, and I guess I can’t really blame him. It wasn't his fault the guy he came to the club with showed up in our private room and went nuts. Chase was trying to break it up, and I can still remember him shouting my name, trying to see if I was okay. For a brief moment I thought maybe he cared. That was until I got a phone call a few hours ago from Sadie, and she filled me in on a few things. Such as the man who started the brawl is related to Chase and has some lawyer making a bunch of threats. She thinks he’s making up crap in hopes the club won't press charges, and they can settle outside of court for damages. This Tino guy is saying someone stole money from him. I have to go down to the club straight after class to tell
“What the fuck did you do?”“Hello to you too, cuz.”“I’m serious, Tino.”“First of all, I don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about. Second, why do you sound so pissed?”I rub the heel of my hand on the back of my eyes as I click through the computer database. “I’m talking about what happened Saturday night. Olson was supposed to take care of everything, and we were supposed to be hands off. Why is it I’m hearing that you’re involved?”“Oh.” There’s a long silence, and I hear him talking to someone else that must be near him. It’s a minute later when I hear a door shut, and he hisses into the phone. “Neva is on my ass to press charges.”“Press charges for what, Tino? You’re the one that started the fight, and there are about a dozen witnesses.” I let out a sharp breath. “You didn’t tell your fiancée the whole story, did you?” The pause after my question gives me my answer. “Shit ,Tino, what did you tell her?”“That the strippers stole all our money and the bouncers tried to kick
“Really?” I let out a long breath as relief fills me. Finally one thing goes my way today.“Yeah, we got a call a few minutes before you got here.” Sadie smiles at me. “You know you weren’t in trouble, right? I only wanted to go over everything with you before we had a meeting with our lawyers.”Sadie and all the girls here have been so much nicer to me than I expected. I think my mom has made me leery of beautiful sexy women because she warned me over and over they are only out for themselves.“I wasn't sure. I’m still in my probationary period.” Which I was told lasted for the first two weeks.“It’s all good. In fact, we let go of a bouncer that should have been outside your door to begin with.” She shakes her head. “The man who bought your dance paid him to leave his spot for extra privacy.” She rolls her eyes. “Then they try to say we did something wrong.”“He what?” I gasp.“I’m really sorry, Cathy. I take the security of the girls here very seriously. I’m just glad you weren't h
When we pull up to the house, the staff is already outside waiting. Two people go directly to the back of the SUV and begin to unload the stuff.“Chase, we should really talk about this.”“We will.” I turn to look at her as I take her by the elbow. “Inside.”“Good evening, Miss Evans,” Mae greets.“Cathy, this is my housekeeper, Mae. If you need anything, all you have to do is ask.”“It’s so nice to meet you.” She smiles at Cathy, but at her blank expression, she turns to me. “Dinner is ready in the kitchen. You requested a more casual setting tonight?”“Yes, thank you. We’ll serve ourselves.” The men come in with Cathy’s things, and I nod toward the stairs. “In the master suite on the second floor,” I instruct, and I feel Cathy tense at my side.“Chase,” Cathy begins to protest, but I shake my head.“This way.” I hold on to her arm firmly as I turn us away from the marble foyer and head to the back of the house.Normally when I have guests, we eat in the dining room, but since it’s j
I pull the stopper on the tub before I crawl out and wrap a robe around me. Chase’s home is breathtaking. His bathroom reminds me of a fancy hotel suite, and I can’t imagine him in this place all alone. It’s a lot for a single man, but I guess he must come from money. I don’t think a professor could afford this even with his doctorate. Especially at his age.Running my hand along the cool stone on the double sinks, I think about how this bathroom is made for a couple. It’s wrong for me to be in it, because I’m guessing this is a home he’s making for his future wife. Not that it matters, I suppose. Most men with this lifestyle have no plans of ever being faithful, so what would it matter to them if other women used the space before? I honestly don’t think men connect things that way.My stomach sours at my own stupid thoughts. I don’t know why I’m poking at myself and getting all worked up over nothing. I should be thankful. I can’t remember the last time I had a soak in a tub and a me
