INSTEAD OF going straight to my home, I made my way to the beach. It was far away from where I came from but I could not feel the distance I walked because I was talking to Vivi. He says anything and everything now, seems to be getting more comfortable in this town as well.
"The blue ocean! The blue ocean!" his lively tone echoed in my ear. Free as he flew in the wide sky, there were also different kinds of birds passing so I smiled watching Vivi who seemed to be chasing them.
The strong wind blew my long hair and as I inhaled it, I could smell its salty breeze. I came even closer to the eternal looking ocean. It seemed to be a reflection of the sky, deep blue. I also took off my footwear so I could feel the fine and white sand on it more.
I felt even more relieved at the sight. "I hope it is always like this," I whispered into the air. "No bitterness and sorrow."
I sat in front of the clean ocean and surveyed the whole place. The waves were not very stro
I WAS stunned when I saw Casias again on the far side of the market, walking proudly with his two followers. It looks like the vendors here in the market will be paying the charged of the rent again.I am currently arranging the fruits in front of me. I am the one selling it now because Rowan is not here yet. Going for a walk with his lover. Yes, he now has a lover who is also a merchant here in the market. She had liked him for a long time but she was not noticed by him then because he suddenly turned his attention to me when he first met me.I still remember the first time we met, he was stunned by my beauty that almost had his saliva dripping. But now, he was dead set, in love with Mila. This young lady openly shows her liking for the man but he ignores her.And when Rowan realized that he really could not get my heart, he started to turn his attention to the young lady until he finally fell in love with her.Now that he always lets me keep an eye on h
IT WAS already dark when Rowan returned to the store. His wide smile was intacted in his face ever since he came back and it made me irritated for reasons I cannot name. When he paid me, I left immediately and let him close the store because I really could not stand his enthusiasm with things."Finally, we can go home too, Vivi," I said wearily. These past few days, I have always been tired because I have to keep an eye on the store. I am wondering. I used to work even harder in the past but I never got tired. I sighed. Maybe I was just not exercising enough. My body is no longer used to many activities, unlike before. But it seems even better for me that I feel tired because I can now sleep easily. Bad dreams hardly come to my sleep anymore so I feel more secure in the past few days. I do not know the reason for all of this but I am just thankful.Maybe it was really not because of exhaustion the reason why I am so assured. I do not know. I just do not want to
I STOPPED walking while waiting for his answer. It took him a long time before he spoke. “I also always go there when I want to breathe and be able to think,” he said, staring at nothing in particular. "The first time I saw you there was also the day I met you. Since then, I have never forgotten the sight of your sad eyes." He sighed. "I always wondered why there was so much sadness in your eyes that night. The same night many questions went through my mind. What was the cause of her sadness? What happened? But why every time I see her in the market, there was not a streak of sadness there, no emotion or whatsoever." He slowly turned to face me after saying those things. I, on the other hand, avoided him, unable to find a word to counter his words. Or do I really have to answer him?
"Who is the stupid creature you are referring to?" said someone on my side which startled me. I immediately turned to face him, backing away as he approached."What are you doing here?" I asked quickly, my forehead furrowed, not believing his presence. He grinned and shrugged. "I told you before, did I not?" He came even closer so I backed away again. "Do you want me to take care of the stupid creature you are referring to?" he added, looking like he is planning something bad now.I forgot that he was a cruel one. He can hurt any creature he wants. I was the only young lady he could never beat, the one who knocked him down with just one punch.I grunted and sat down in front of the lake again. "Do not interfere, I will take care of hi
I WALKED past Casias when we met at the market, I even stared at him to show I was irritated by his presence."Good morning, Aliara!" he said, smiling as he greeted me but I ignored him. There is always nothing good in the morning when I see him.I set aside the cart when I arrived at Rowan's store. He was busy with a lot of customers this morning so cannot even greet me."I will help you!" Casias said again, who was already in front of me. I did not notice him following me. His two companions were also behind him."No. Just keep doing what you are doing." I did not pay attention to him as I picked up a sack on the cart.I know he is collecting fees from the vendors here in the marke
My heart beat faster. Maybe it is because I am nervous? Doubt? Anxiety? Excitement? I do not know! I could hear almost nothing but the beating of my stupid heart. Many questions entered my mind. What is he doing here? Why is he here? Am I the reason why he is here? How did he find me? And what were those things he carried? Does he work here in the market?"Aliara," Casias called as he tapped me on the shoulder so I seemed to wake up in a dream. I turned to him feeling at a loss, unable to speak. "Are you alright? Rowan has been talking to you before but you seem so out of it."I shook my head and turned back to what I had been looking at before. Sevasti was still there but was already in a store, talking to the salesman there. When he turned to me I immediately averted my eyes, surpris
I QUICKLY approached him and slapped his chest, not weakly but not strong either. I repeatedly did that but he did not make any move, he remained standing and just let me vent my anger. His reaction did not change, I guess it even got softer the longer he stared at me.When my hand weakened, that is the time he finally held me, gently holding my arms. I completely lost my strength because of that, it seemed like the anger that was building up inside me had disappeared.Tears welled up in my eyes for many reasons and emotions I felt all at once. I do not want to be happy at this very moment but my heart feels like it on its own. I am happy that he is here, his presence, his appearance and his whole being. He seemed to calm me down completely. All the clutter in my mind was gone."Why do you show yourself just now?" I questioned him weakly. I stared at his chest, and when I looked up I saw the shock pass through his eyes. "How long have I waited for you to
I SLOWLY opened my eyes. If I had not seen Sevasti sleeping soundly next to me and hugging me, I would have thought that I had just dreamt of what had happened. A strange dream.I do not know how it will feel now that I am slowly coming to my senses with what I did. I close my eyes again as I remember how many times I called Sevasti's name in a loud and pleading voice. How is it now? What am I going to do?I want to laugh at myself. You are really a fool! You were carried away again in a rush of emotion.Yet, I have no regrets. I also wanted to give myself to this man because I loved him so much.I looked up and blew softly. I looked at the lamp on the little table here in my home, it was already lit. It was the only one that gave light to the dark surroundings. That is when I realized it was night.I heaved a sigh again and gently removed Sevasti's hand that was resting on my waist, not making any noise so I would not wake him up. I left hi
