PLEASE READ 🙃

Mmkay . .
I'm sorry if this is too long, but it's necessary. This is my only author's note in this book . . . you've got to give me credit for refraining from writing one since all this months na 😐
🍒
Hola!
I see you made it to the end of this book 😊 Aww, thanks soo much for reading 💓
I'm really happy to finish this book sef, when I started on the twelfth of November last year, I had no idea it was going to take me one seven five days to finish writing the book (minus the hiatus, that is).
But I was not surprised that much sha, after all I'm a lazy slow poke 😒
Now, I prolly should tell you a little about Alacrimia, and how I came by the story plot, but . . . 🥴
I've actually written it out, but I just cut it . . It looks long and unnecessary.
So, I'mma just do a summary.
The story plot came to life when I was in JSS3 (last year of middle school) inspired by a short exercise I read. I jotted it down in a ring-binder jotter (which has many other story plots inside) and then abandoned it.
Then in SSS1 (first year of senior school) when I came across the name for the condition in the dictionary (Alacrimia), I started to write it out in a new exercise book . . .
Yeah, I wrote just seven lines 😂 I couldn't continue because, for some reason, I couldn't access the book again. Then I forgot all about it.
Then, years later, when I'd graduated from secondary school and was home, waiting for admission into the uni . . . doing nothing and bored, I was sorting out my secondary school things and found a lot of my stuff.
. . . Numerous story plots in different jotters, doodles, real drawings, poems and songs . . . all by me 🤦🏽♀️ . . .
The Alacrimia (I hadn't forgotten the word) plot caught my eye most and I just knew I had to start writing it.
So, I got a new jotter and plotted the book out ( I mostly just plotted out Part the First, but I jotted every other thing down)
I didn't start immediately though. I started loong after that, on the twelfth of November, last year 😇
Fun fact: I later found that new book I started Alacrimia in (turns out I had it all along) and the main character's name was 'Eniitan'
Close, right?
🤣🤣 No wonder I found it so hard to stick with names for her. It was when I thought of 'Eniiyi' that the author in me clicked it right. If not I'd not have written that book till today because I hadn't found a name that fits the character perfectly in my head.

Mmkay . . .
I hope you guys don't mind that the very last chapter of the book is titled '.' ?
It's my OCD 🤧 It wouldn't let me end a book with odd numbers that was not in 5s. Just even numbers and the 5s 😐
Originally, that part was titled 'epilogue' for a veeeery long time, but then it started to look redundant and unnecessary to me . . . it isn't really an epilogue . . So I just used the dot. Lolz.
🍒
This is the Q and A part . .
Since I wasn't able to ask any in the story . . 🙃
~ Honestly, what do you guys think of the book?
I dunno, I think the way the book ended was not very satisfying . . 😕
~ How much did you enjoy it? What do you think I need to work on more?
~ Do you think it's possible to have a Pengine in the nearest future in Nigeria?
~ What do you think of the superstitions?
Sadly, these things actually still happen in Africa. Smh 🤦🏽♀️
~ Who was your favourite character?
~ What scene did you like the most?
~ *no question here, because I can't think of one right now 🙃
Ask one? 💁🏽♀️
~ Lastly, would anybody like to give a madly honest review and send to my dm or W******p?
Or do you know somebody who can?
Like, a break-everything-down-and-pick-out-the-faults kind of review . . . Please? 🥺
♟️
By the way . . .
•Who else would like to try out Tangerine Tea one day? Huh? 🤓
It sounds exciting to me, I should prolly try it one of these days . . 🧡
•Okay, I should get a few things straight about the main character . . . So, yeah..
Eniiyi is a blunt and outspoken child . . she says exactly what's on her mind about things like that . . I dunno, some people might have seen it as being rude, but, she wasn't meant to be portrayed as rude and obnoxious.
The thing is just that, well, growing up with absent parental care, she doesn't know who she should be and who she should not be blunt to.
So, her being outspoken might seem rude, but, rest assured, she didn't really mean to be.
The same thing about being spoilt . . . she's just a normal child and makes fusses just as one. Yeah, her parents indulge her in everything, but that doesn't make her spoilt, trust me . . .
I'm sure you've all met a rude, obnoxious, spoilt brat before. They don't exactly think like Eniiyi or are as polite as she was most times or care about anybody that isn't themselves.
Besides, most of her actions are justified . .
• Feel free to ask any questions on what is not clear about Eniiyi, and any other character for that matter 🧘🏽♀️
🍒
Last entry . . .
Okay, you guys feel very free to ask me anything about me ☺️ Since I'm not going to be doing a 'About the Author' thingy . .
But I make no promises to answer every question o 😌😌
I still have to keep up the enigmatic aura 😉
Oh, yeah, a question I've been meaning to ask somebody all this while;
Please, who knows when Plankton in SpongeBob SquarePants is finally going to successfully steal Mr Krabs' Formula and use it? 🙄🤦🏽♀️
Because after several years of not watching that cartoon, I finally go back to it and discover that he's still trying to successfully steal it 😑
♟️
So, yeah, that's all.
Have I said thanks for sticking with me till the end?
No?
Okay 🙂
Thanks soo much for sticking with me till the very end of the story. I love y'all!!! 💞
If you really liked Alacrimia then, please, share with your family and friends! Thanks! 💜

07:02 am, August 29Osun State, Nigeria.Eniiyi woke up to something tickling her nose and she sneezed, opening her eyes. Her mom, Eartha, was sitting at the edge of her bed with one hand poised in the air. Eartha made a guilty smile, as though she hadn't expected to get caught. She glanced at the alarm clock then propped up a pillow behind her and sat up, eyebrows raised. What was the occasion?'Mommy, good morning,' she said, still confused. 'Am I missing something?''Good morning, Adekunbi. If you were to be missing anything, it'd be your smile.' She tweaked her nose.Eniiyi smiled. Mommy was being Mommy today. She was extremely funny most times. She watched as she bent over her, her thick mass of onyx-black hair falling forward to cover her face.'If you keep smiling at me like that, I think I'd have to pay a visit to the salon.'Eniiyi smiled again and threw over the covers, swinging h
04:58 am, August 30.'I can't believe you haven't packed anything, you this child, ìwo omo yì,' Eniiyi's mother chided, giving her subject of accusal a once over. The girl was still in her dressing gown over pajamas.'The grass will grow under our feet before we leave the house if you continue like this,' she further added, pulling open the door to the girl's walk-in closet.'Or the tiles, in this context. And I don't care,' Eniiyi said.Eartha turned to glare at the nine-year-old. 'Next thing, you'll go and carry cane to beat me.''No, o!' Eniiyi quickly corrected herself. 'I was just trying to . . .''To what?'Eniiyi shrugged. 'I was funnin' with you.''Who's funnin' with whom?' Daddy appeared in the doorway. A bath towel was draped round his waist and he had a red toothbrush in one hand and his phone glued to his ear with the other.Mom raised an eyebrow and went into the c
08:30 amKogi State. As Eniiyi slammed the door closed she looked around her in disgust.Okay, it wasn't anything she had expected. The street directly in front of where the car was parked stretched untarred into the distance. The surrounding houses were of different state and quality, ranging from old, mud, small to new, plastered, big. Some were painted in colours which looked horrible to her. She wondered if she'd have to face this eyesore everyday for one month. The closing of a door made her turn around. An ample woman who looked to be in her sixties came down the porch steps, a look of surprise on her face. Her short hair braided in shuku had streaks of gray here and there.Daddy was the first to go forward to meet her. He went down prostrate on the floor in front of her, his palms and the tips of his shoes touching the ground, and Eniiyi pitied his light-blue T-shirt.'Ẹ káàárọ̀ m&agr
10:17 amAbuja, F.C.T.'It's okay,' Eartha said, as her husband veered into the long-term parking. But it sounded more like she was trying to convince herself.Mide was humming softly as he went down the parking garage. She punched him lightly in the arm.'Yes, Raspberry Ripple?' he turned to her as he pulled into a parking spot.'Mide!' She sounded petulant. 'Aren't you even worried?'Mide's sigh could have easily launched a ship. 'She'll be fine, come on.''I'm just worried, she's never been to somewhere like that before. And she seemed pretty riled up about it. We should have at least gone back for the tablet, what if she needed us?''And miss our flight? Babes, she's just mad at us, which is natural. And she's in the safest hands there, nothing cou
I've got oil and beans. I've got oil and beans. I am not scared, no, not at all I'm not scared of having twins I've got oil and beans.Eniiyi scowled at the women's loud singing. She looked around for the mother of the twins, all she could see was the women and children. Some sat around the lounge room, singing. She could hear the noise some were making from the kitchen and from the aroma, they were cooking. She could see her grandmother among the women seated and just when she was going to look away, the woman caught her gaze.'Eniiyi, wáńbí,' she called over.Eniiyi
