CHAPTER 26: Ached

Lily entered her room to take a nap. What happened tonight displeased her.

She found it difficult to comprehend Drew's behaviors and reactions. She was waiting for an explanation because, in some ways, their agreement and relationship were fine—at least, they weren't until tonight, when she was left hurt.

I shouldn't have been hurt. I have to get used to it.

Was she becoming too brazen to confront Drew? She then decided that this was better. He had a taste of what he was teaching her, at least. But what if he loses his temper, and this ends up being the cause of their breakup?

She locked the door after slamming it. Consequently, she had trouble falling asleep because she could not feel Drew Walton's warm touches on her body as she lay in bed.

This is bad. Very, very bad.

Before she felt the door click and open, she had been lying there for three hours. She appeared to remember how Kenneth had mistreated and assaulted her in this manner, widening her eyes.
