Miron’s storyWaiting lately hasn’t been my strong point. I used to like to wait; wait for Rita to get ready for an event so I could admire her in
Adam’s storyHere he was in front of the door of a man who was, hopefully, going to give him my answers. Depending on how twisted his mind was they could have an almost normal talk or not a talk at all. His hand was shaking on the door’s knob knowing that he had a few more steps until this whole story could be over. Once inside he saw a thin man, skinny, very skinny with long dark hair and an unshaved beard. He was lost as if he had no force shirt on something like that how this was used in such hospitals. It could always be a good sign as Adam was thinking John might be after all a reasonable person. And he was not wrong. Thank God for that as he had no time for adjusting with him.- Good afternoon John…The man didn’t answer at first but he traveled his eyes to Adam. His gaze was so intense and if you were not used to such looks it might scare you a little bit. Eventually, he turned with his whole body as he was staying in a small chair near the table. - Who are
Rita’s storyOnce Adam left it was hard for me to concentrate on myself. I wanted so badly to get out of here and what Adam has told us was a total shock. How could she do such a thing? Anyway, at this point, nothing that came from her amazed me anymore.- Have you ever expected that, Belle? I am still in shock and can’t get out of this denial state. - To tell you the truth Sarah is a much-unexpected person. What she did and still does it is not surprising for me. She goes from bad to worse. So…- I understand you, Belle. What I don’t understand is how she can sleep at night with all those sins. Although I don’t remember her quite well I never thought she could be capable of these horrible things. Sometimes I really needed to know how she was in adolescence. How she was with me. - Belle, do you have any new information about how Sarah treated me in childhood? I have a bad feeling that this could be worse than I expect.- I only know what
Adam’s storyBeing in this hospital was bringing Adam the chills. He just knew that he had to be here so John could tell him something about what has been bothering him in the last fifteen years. He has to find a way to reach his soul through his mind. He was way too troubled.- John…As he tried to call him by his name there was no answer at first. But at his second try…- John, can you hear me?John was making everything really hard. He turned his face from Adam not wanting to look him in the eyes and not wanting to speak anymore. Adam made a lot of progress and suddenly John’s mind blocked him. Now he has to find a way to regain his trust. If only he knew something that could trigger somehow some of his emotions.- John, also Bob sent me here. That was the trigger. When he heard Bob’s name he faced Adam with pleading eyes at first and then they became questioning. It was like Adam had no permission to say that name. Now depending on his reaction, if he w
Adam’s storyIf someone would tell Adam like two months ago that he was going to get involved in a criminal investigation without being a police officer he would have said that this was a crazy idea. But now, when he was actually doing it, it does not seem so crazy anymore. It was quite exciting. He had no reso
Adam’s storyAdam finally found a way to learn more about the infamous life and person of Sarah Johnson. He wondered if Sarah knows about John’s existence. And he has to keep him safe as Sarah would not hurt or God forbid murder him.The talk about Sarah was very interesting and still is as John revealed so many horrible things about her that maybe he should ask him if it was ok to record him. - John, I will have to stop you for a minute and ask you something.- Ok…- I don’t know what you might think about this but I would like, if you want of course, to record you. John’s face changed suddenly but not in a bad way. It was like he didn’t expect Adam to ask that. - You want to record me? What for?- I intend to bring her before the court and for that I need solid evidence against her. John seemed to understand the gravity of the problem so he accepted the offer.- Ok, if that means getting this monster out of the way then so be
Miron’s story- - Feelin
Adam’s storyThe tone of John’s voice was loud and scared and froze Adam on the spot. He didn’t know what to answer. Well, he had to, something, anything. This conversation must continue. And if John raised his voice higher Adam might get thrown out of the hospital.
Miron's story After one year… Hey, Noah, look what Daddy has here. Your favorite toy. Let's see where Mommy is. Rita was in the small garden she had set up in our backyard right next to the pool. She loved to grow and care for flowers. She had roses of all colors, peonies, and many tulips. She adored them and it seemed like little Noah too because since he saw her he started moving his little hands and feet. He was adorable. Let's see what Mommy is doing here. Rita was bent over the peonies and I intentionally pushed her a little and she fell on the wet ground. Noah began to laugh so hard with his tiny mouth that I was beg
Miron's storyToday Sarah was going to have a big surprise. The court had summoned her brother to testify. And besides, there's a second T-shirt sprinkled with Jenna's blood. Jack led us to it and from there to its analysis and the establishment that it belonged to Sarah was just one step.People were resuming their seats on the benches. The atmosphere, I didn't know why it was tenser. Maybe because the weather was darker outside. It wasn't long before Sarah was brought in and we then heard the echo of the bailiff's voice. All rise! The honorable judge Stone! We all rose as we always did. The feeling was still strange. Something was going to happen today, I was more and more sure of it. Even Michael mentioned to me that
Miron's storyJohn Maxwell came frightened through the benches right to the witness box, looking in all directions as if waiting for something to happen to him. I was really sorry to know him like that, to look at him and see that he has no defense. The fear was also that he had not seen the light of day in years, the taste of freedom probably since he entered that hospital. Of course, there were walks in the hospital yard but it was not the same.Like scared, he took the oath and took his seat. Again the defense had no questions. I can say that we were lucky that the lawyer didn't know the people and thus the time was shortened and it could only be in our favor.John, please tell us, who you are most afraid of?
Miron's storyAnd so the first bomb fell. We all watched Mandy dance with the baseball bat as if it were the most normal thing in the world. And that T-shirt that was presented and accepted as evidence in the file, was all my delight. From time to time I looked at Sarah, who could no longer find her seat in the chair next to her lawyer. I could say with all my heart that it was the final blow given to this criminal. The orthopedist managed to convince everyone that Sarah at the age of adolescence could easily have handled that bat and I would go even further and say that he also convinced the jurors. Their grimaces suggested many things and not exactly in favor of the defendant.Yesterday seemed to pass just as fast and today it was Father Maxwell’s turn to give statements. He had been summoned two days ago. The momen
Miron's storyThe whole room was already silent and everyone was waiting for Michael's answer. The answer was delayed but maybe he was preparing his ground. That was exactly what he did. He turned on one foot facing the jurors and then to the judge and with a sigh announced the expert's entry.Your Honor, I contradict the lawyer's words, and not only me but also the orthopedic doctor William Dale, also an occasional baseball player, in his free time but enough to tell us how things are. I know it was not quoted but I could not prove otherwise that the bat can be easily handled by a 15-year-old child.
Miron's storySarah's lawyer smashed Darla with the last question, but now it was Michael's turn and I knew he would calm her down. Then followed that indisputable evidence that even the jurors could not ignore. Sarah will definitely have a surprise.Michael had already been invited to question the witness. Darla was a little calmer.Miss Darla, please tell us, what did you see from the yard of your house, being next door to the defendant? That they always have quarrels and Bob almost all the time insulted his wife, including his children.Who is Bob? And how would you describe him?
Miron's storyThe days started to go by so fast that we don't even have time to breathe. Today, Rita's aunt, Darla, was called to the witness box. She came to us first. I offered to come and get her, but she refused. It was clear that she was nervous, but she would have to get over it and tell Sarah's relationship with both her parents and her sister, Lucy, in great detail. But she was very happy when she saw Rita again. They hadn't seen each other in years so they cried and hugged for minutes. They talked about Lucy, how much she loved life and how much she loved Rita. It's just that fate has been very hostile to them.Miron, Rita, I'm scared! It hurts so much to talk about Lucy that I'm afraid of making a mistake.
Miron's storyYesterday passed quickly. As we had agreed, we cooked together and fell asleep faster than we expected. Rita was really tired but they didn't need her today, so she just accompanied me. I still tried to get her to stay home to rest but she flatly and elegantly refused me.Love, my place is next to you for better or worse. I promise if I start to feel unwell I'll ask Peter to bring me home.Okay, I'll take your word for it. Shall we go?Let's go.It didn't take us ten minutes to get to court. Michael, as usual, was waiting for us in the hall. We were invited in and the same protocol
Rita's storyThe prosecutor's questions hurt me extremely, but I knew I had to answer them. That's the only way I could punish Sarah. It was cruel to remember everything I went through in that warehouse and then to all the places Sarah carried me over but if that was the only way to put her behind bars then I had little choice. Even the baby had become agitated. Instinctively I put my hand on my belly as if wanting to protect him. I kind of guessed what questions would follow.Do we understand, Miss Sinclair, that the defendant here kidnapped your mother and confessed to killing her?Objection! He is misleading the witness!
