Chapter 7

I was at a loss for words.

"Let’s get a divorce," Xander said.

"Alright." I kept telling myself over and over, crying would be bad for the baby, and that was the only way I managed to hold back my tears in front of him.

But after he slammed the door and stormed out, I could not hold back anymore. I collapsed into sobs.

When I was finally exhausted from crying, Russel drove me back to my dad’s house.

After the divorce, I never saw Xander again.

Yes, he never came looking for me either.

So, he never knew about Emma.

As Russel recounted everything, I got lost in my own memories.

Even though it had been five years, thinking about it still hurt.

Xander must have been in pain too after hearing the truth. Why else would his face show such anguish?
