Chapter 6
Alphonso’s pov.
I stared at her as she gracefully strode in front of me as we made our way to the garden. After having our dinner a few minutes ago.
She looked good in the gown she wore that night, fucking good, too good. I wondered what I was going to tell her, just admiring her backside like this was beautiful.
I waved at my guards who were walking behind us, to reduce their pace, I needed some alone time with my prospect.
When they were far enough, I began.
“You can talk freely now; the guards have given us enough space to…”
Before I could finish my sentence, I saw her turn at a speed of almost lightning and point a small table knife to my neck.
I wasn’t quick to dodge it so I just stood there staring into her hazel eyes with a knife held to my throat.
My guards noticed that something was off but I asked them to stay back.
An involuntary smile crept on my face.
it was at this moment that I realized that Alcantara was bad news.
Only this woman can stop my heart and start it again.
I spoke up to her hearing
“Alphonso you are indeed a finished man”
She stared up at me in confusion. “You have a knife to your throat and you are smiling?”
“This is the closest anyone has been to killing me, my mother was right, you truly have a fire in you”
Her hands were shaking now and the more she tried to cover it up, the more it weirdly turned me on.
“You have never done this before?”
She gives me a lethal stare and asks.
“Done what!?”
“Done this” I reply with a grin, “Killed someone”
She huffs in denial and that’s when I grab my chance.
“You’ve led enough, it’s my turn now.” I grab her hand and give her a spin, snatching the knife off her in a split second.
I immediately turn her and grab her from behind, holding her tightly so she isn’t able to lose my grip. I can feel her ass on my crotch but I refuse to be distracted.
She smells nice, I like the scent, it smelled of strawberries.
She squirmed as she tried to wriggle from my grip.
“Fucking let me go!”
I smiled at her.
“I thought we were starting on a good foot, but it seems it has been a bad one all this while”
She replied. “I want to leave this Place; I do not want to get married to you! It’s that so hard to understand?”
I felt a little sting hearing that, but then again, I needed to explain to her that if she couldn’t let me have her, my mother was going to have her killed.
“Promise you will calm down and I will let you go”
She hesitated before replying. “Fine! just let me go”
When I do, she faces me with contempt written all over her face.
“You people are psychopaths” she curses under her breath; I heard it but chose to ignore it.
“Listen to me Tara, you are in a complicated situation as it already is.”
She looked at me with curiosity which prompted me to continue.
“Your father and my mother used to be Lovers when they were young” I cringed at the fact that this beautiful woman I was already attracted to would have been my sister for a second, well thank goodness it didn’t happen.
“How is that possible? How was my dad able to woo a woman as wealthy as your mum?”
I grin.
“I like that we are slowly having a conversation, I mean a few minutes ago, we were at each other’s throat”
She rolled her eyes. “Are you going to tell me what I want to hear or do you want me to jump over the balcony tonight?”
Hmm Bashful, I like it.
“I wasn’t born in the 90’s you know? I just know that he once took a bullet for my mum and that meant the entire world to her.”
Alcantara walks a bit further from me, to process the whole thing I believe, but I continue either way.
“My mum was forever indebted to him and My mother is someone that never likes to owe a person”
Alcantara scoffs.
“Oh, splendid you can run off and tell your mum that her debt has been paid, she is releasing my brother from jail and clearing his name, so what more could I ask for.?”
“Well, the story isn’t entirely complete as you can see, your father left my mum and she wasn’t able to find him for many years, he just disappeared and she felt enraged.”
I grab Alcantara by the hand and pull her towards me.
“Do you think that you are the only one who doesn’t want this marriage? I don’t want any of this. too” I lie.
“But I don’t want blood on my hands and I like you, I fucking do and I don’t know why, so I wouldn’t force you to do anything against your will”
She claps back on my statement. “You and your mother are already forcing me against my will! Plus, what do you mean by you like me? You don’t even know me?”
I don’t retreat from my conversation and instead continue.
“I don’t need to know you to like you Tara, I like what I like.”
She tries to release her grip on me, but I hold on to her tighter.
“Your father hurt my mother’s feelings and as much as she would love to treat you well, she would also love to put a bullet inside you when you decide to run from this.”
I could sense that I had scared her a little so I continued.
“So, here’s the plan, Give me 31 days, just 1 month. If by the end of the month, you don’t confess your feelings to me, I will aid in your escape and take you and your brother far from my mother and you will never hear of the Manuels ever again”
She looks at me like I am some crazy person, but I continue.
“If you however tell me that you are in love with me by the end of the month, you will marry me, Alcantara Walters, and there is no going back on that.”
Hello everyone. i hope you are enjoying the chapters? drop a comment it would mean alot.
Chapter 7Alcantara WaltersI am now convinced that the people in this mansion are either psychopaths or non-humans, I mean how the hell was this man able to keep a straight face and tell me that I was going to fall in love with him after a month? What kind of challenge was that?“Can you even listen to yourself right now? How the hell is this a plan?”I watched the sly smug on his face disappear when he realized that I wasn’t going to buy his shit.“You do not understand it?”I nod affirmatively.“You are giving me two options and both of them entail that I stay here in your crazy mansion for more than a day? Hell 31 days, what do you want me to understand?”He releases his grip on me and I step further away from him so he doesn’t touch or grab me anymore.“I can’t stay here, I feel uneasy, as much as I don’t have a life out there, I sure as hell know that I don’t belong here either!”He looks unfazed by my pleas and responds.“Since you can’t listen to me, I think I will have to show
Chapter 8Alphonso’s Pov. I had just finished telling my mother all about me and Tara’s plan because I knew that if my mother ever had her way, she would get us married in a week.“You are being a too lenient young man, what in fucks name has my little fiery choice done to you?”I smile at her as she gazes at me in surprise. Did she just call Tara her little fiery choice? It makes me laugh so I reply confidently.“I want to unravel the mystery of who she is, she interests me, in ways no one not even myself can understand.”Knowing my mother all too well, I knew that she still wasn’t that convinced so she asked.“But 31 days? that’s a lot of time.”I almost drop a loud sigh of exasperation before replying.“In the end, Ma, I will make the choices.”She nods after seeing my persistence.“Fine, I would be traveling for a month anyway, I just hope that when I get back, you will be giving me good news.”I grin.“I sure would.”It’s now midnight and I decide to visit Tara ‘s room one more
Chapter 9Alcantara Walters.I struggled to stand and listen to the words of the psychopath that had me glued to him this morning. He looked at me like I was the only interesting thing that had ever occurred to him in this wicked life of his and it got me scared. How could someone who had just met me in one day make me quiver to this extent? I remembered my brother’s advice when he would usually tell me that eyes don’t lie.Right now with the way this man looked at me coupled with the words he was speaking. It is confirmed. He is… Mentally unstable. It all makes sense now, why his mother would be kidnapping me and forcing me to marry her son.I was right in the first place no one would want to stay with such a man, no matter how dashing he looked up close with his evil hazel eyes that could snare anyone under the sheets with him. What the hell am I thinking? It’s almost as if my body is having a conflict with my mind. What the hell was this man trying to do to me?I look away from him
Chapter 10Alphonso’s pov.-Five years ago-I had just walked into one of my favorite clubs and moved my way to the VIP spot made for me as I didn’t want to be disturbed.I watched the strippers there to entertain me with intent but at that time I wasn’t feeling too fuckery at the moment.Just then a message notification pops up in my phone.BOSS HE IS NOW IN THE CARI smiled and decided to call him about the business I had come for.By Him. I meant Antonio Blanco, the thorn in my flesh and the thief who dared to steal my billion-dollar deal.I dial his number and wait for his response.“Who is this?” I hear his voice ask and I speak.“Antonio Blanco, I see you must be having a wonderful evening.?”He must have been so irritated by my voice that I heard his exasperated sigh.“What do you want Mr Manuel?”I grin, it’s time to show the other card.“I’ve got a question for you.?”I say trying to rile him up a little bit.“Ride or die, Antonio?”I ask and he replies in confusion.“If you a
Chapter 11AlcantaraWhy does the universe seem to be against me in this moment of my life?I can’t believe this man had just ruined my chances to escape and leave this place. I glare at him, as he just stands there, grinning at me like this is all some twisted joke.Even behind the sleek black nose mask that covered half his face, I could see that self-satisfied smirk of his. It’s funny how a person’s arrogance can seep through any barrier, no matter how hard they try to hide it.“There’s always a price for leaving the mansion Mami,”He says, his voice smooth and taunting, as though he’s relishing each word. His dark eyes glimmered with something I couldn’t quite name. It felt like a mix of amusement and cruelty that made my skin crawl.“You know I can’t help you run away from me, Alcantara. I mean, you are my princess, and as your prince, I have to stay by your side at all times.”The audacity of his words hit me like a slap. What the fuck does he think he is? I feel my pulse quick
Chapter 12Alphonso…I was now bored watching Antonio be treated with him still not telling us the business we came for.I had to ask, I didn’t want my princess to be Uncomfortable.“We don’t have all the time in the world, so tell me what business proposition you have,”I said, trying to keep things moving. Blanco sat across from us, looking too relaxed now his wounds had been treated. He leaned back, still wearing that self-satisfied grin. “Okay”He pushed some documents to me and continued.“I recently bought a two-billion-dollar tourist hotel in Thailand—top location, luxury suites, the works extremely beautiful and I want you to invest with a ten percent interest rate. We could make a lot of money together.”I raised an eyebrow, unimpressed.“ Ten percent interest you say? And how do I know this isn’t some kind of trap?”Blanco started to respond, but then Tara’s flinching distracted me a bit. I noticed her squirming in her seat. She was tugging at the handcuffs, clearly irritate
Chapter one. Alcantara Walters.I just marched angrily to the company’s building in annoyance and disgust. A security guard tried stopping me on sight but I was able to dodge his attempt to grab me relentlessly and used the elevator before he could get to me. Of course, due to my messy look and scattered hair, I looked like I didn’t belong in that environment, like a woman on drugs or something. Little do these people know that I am the secret wife of their owner and CEO, Pascal Danvers and Sadly, that was all going to change from today. While inside I could see the reddening of my face on the reflection of the mirror-like elevator walls. I gripped the Divorce papers in my hands. It was now or never. My heart kept beating fast but I consoled myself by remembering why I was doing this. When the doors opened up to the 25th floor which happened to be Pascal’s Office, I rushed past the receptionist and barged into his office, I could hear her yell at me to stop and that he was in
Chapter Two Alphonso ManuelThere were two kinds of people I hated. The first one were slow witted people and the second kind are the ones that lie to my face. And unfortunately, I was going to deal with the second kind of person right this instant. I am standing in the torturing chambers staring at one of the useless beings that used to work for the Manuel family, my family. A liar and a betrayer of the family, a snitch to the core. Ten of my guards joined me in this quest as his case was a very critical one. No one betrayed the family and let go easily. They were always made to face a slow and painful death. When we got to the room he was in.I took off my suit and passed it to the guard beside me. My little prisoner in question was tied kneeling and was shaking heavily as he saw me. I relished in this a lot. The fear in the eyes of this lousy betraying leeches. “Boss, please forgive me, it was the devils doing,” Now this is what got me so irritated, those that blamed th
