Tasha and Evarius are dancing.
“So, tell me more about yourself,” says Tasha.
“What do you want to know?”
“Your age, hobbies, interests, and of course, the ulterior motives for which you are steering a common girl around the ballroom.”
“You are not a common girl, that’s the first thing I would like to tell you.”
“Because you need something.”
“Even if I didn’t.”
Evarius looks at her as they draw a little closer dancing to the tune of the song. Her grayish eyes, her red lips, her black hair. There is something very tantalizing about her. The
“Come on!” Lilia says, “Let’s say hello to Emily.”“Um, okay,” says Tyrus, and they walk over to Damion and Emily. She is now giggling about something.“Hi, Em,” Lilia says brightly.“Oh, Hi! I was looking for you, but couldn’t find you, and then this man came along. Since then, it’s been difficult to see anything else.”She bats her eyelids at Damion in a flirty sort of way that brings up an urge in Lilia to shove her, but she controls her instincts and says, “So, where’s your date?”“I don’t know. He must be around, but I don’t care now that I have him.”She lo
Tasha stares at Evarius because she has no idea what to say. She had been thinking about what Evarius would ask her to do and she had come up with a lot of different answers. However, nothing compares to what he has just said.“You want me to help you die?” Tasha repeats slowly to make sure she has heard correctly.“Yes.”She pauses for a second and says, “What do you want me to do? Shall I pick a stake and drive it through you?”“You could do that if you want but it won’t kill me.”“That’s how vampires are killed...”“Yeah, but I am not a normal vampire. I am the original one. The other va
Esther and Brent had been standing close to the garden, watching Tasha and Evarius. They could not hear anything but they kept a watch in case things got out of hand and intervention was needed. When nothing happened, and Tasha texted them that she was leaving, they followed her and made sure she had reached home safely. Now, they are driving home.Esther and Brent enter the mansion. It seems empty. Probably, no one else is back yet. They walk up the stairs, and when they reach Brent’s room Esther says, “I had a wonderful night.”“Me too. Thanks for coming with me.”“Again, thanks for inviting me.”“And again, you look gorgeous.”
Damion keeps standing in the same spot. Did Lilia have sex with Tyrus? She chose Brent and now Tyrus. Why not him? What is so wrong with him that she can’t choose him? Initially, he had thought that she had chosen to go with Tyrus because of the awkwardness between them, but now it didn’t seem like it.Damion doesn’t know what to do. Should he stay up all night to see if Tyrus comes out of Lilia’s room? Because he needs to know. He needs to know that what he is thinking is true or it’ll keep eating him up. Although the truth also might gnaw at his heart, still, at least he would know it’s the truth instead of cooking up stories in his head. Wait, he could go to Tyrus’s room and check if he’s there. If he is not, well...He crosses the hall to reach Tyrus’s room. He slowly turns th
“She’s right,” says Brent, “what if the magic asks you to do things you don’t want to, or what if it is too taxing for you and you just can’t do it? You are still learning, after all. You realized that you are a witch just a few days ago.”“He said that all the instructions about the process that originally created vampires and other things have been written down and I can read those,” says Tasha. “So, you think I should just ask him to hand over the instructions or the book whatever it is, and see what it is all about.”“Yeah,” says Lilia, “that sounds right, and anyway it’s not like you can do the spells tomorrow even if you get to know about them, it’ll probably be a long time before you learn something of that magnitude.”
“Your father? Carl texted you?” Lilia says in shock.“Yeah. A min ago.”“How does he even have your number?” Tasha asks.“No idea. He is resourceful.”“What does he want?” Asks Lilia.“He wants to meet me tomorrow.”“But why?”“The message doesn’t say, but I think we can say it's because of the ritual. Has to be. There’s no other reason he would reach out to a son he has not seen for a decade. He knows now that only I can give him the third ingredient.”“Don’t go!” S
The waiter comes back with the coffees while Damion just stares at Carl with a blank expression and then when the waiter leaves, he says, “I have no idea what you are talking about.”“Do not lie to me,” says Carl through gritted teeth.“I am not. I have no idea what The Valkyrie Opus is. I have never heard of it before.”Carl thinks that if Damion is lying, he has to be an excellent liar because it is hard to fool him and to him, it doesn’t look like he is lying.“Is that all you wanted to know?” Damion asks as he sips his coffee with a supremely unconcerned expression.“If you are telling the truth then, yes.”
Damion does not say yes immediately because something is bothering him. He does not want to commit to something before thinking it through. Also, there are certain things he wishes to clarify.“But how do you know I can get to it? What if my father has it?” Damion asks.“You mean Carl?” says Evarius.Damion is surprised that Evarius knows who his father is.Evarius notices the surprised look on Damion’s face. He smiles and says, “I have done my research well. I know Carl wants the book, but if he could get to it, he would have it by now. The fact that he doesn’t mean that you have it.”“I don’t have it.”“But
