Xander's POV

I took a deep breath, plastering a smile on my face, just like my father had instructed, as we made our way into one of my restaurants.

My father insisted that we host Ruby and her father at one of my restaurants, just so he could show off.

Heaven knows that I didn't want to be here, but it looked like my father had me by the ball and I had no choice, but to obey him.

We walked into the restaurant and it was empty, except for Ruby and her father, who were already seated waiting for us.

'' Why is my restaurant empty,'' I asked, whispering to my father as I stopped him in his tracks,
