CHAPTER FIFTY FIVE
“Shouldn't we call your mum to bring the kids?” I asked when I stayed in each other arms.
“She has them for a week” He replied, the vibration of his thick, deep voice tickling my ears.
“I didn't pack their bag for a week Jake” I groaned not liking the idea of my children not being with me for this long. This would be the first time this ever happened.
“I’ll do that” He offered. I laughed and got away from him.
“Thanks for the offer but you and I both know that you wouldn't be able to do that,” I said standing up to walk to the bathroom. I winced in pain. I quickly sat back down.
“Fuck” I mutter realizing how sour I am.
Jake moved closer to me and placed his hands on my shoulders.
“A massage?”
CHAPTER FIFTY SIXThe drive home was really quiet because I didn't know what to say. This is not me. I hate this new person that I am becoming. I've never been the insecure type. Why did the thought of wearing a dress so beautiful terrify me? Maybe because I did not want to embarrass Jake for his meeting tonight. Very close to the house Jake placed his right hand on my thigh and gave me a gentle squeeze. I turned to find him looking at me.“You're beautiful love and I love every inch of you” God no. Does he know what I was thinking?“Thank you” I forced out not wanting to act like this anymore.“I had plans for dinner as a surprise but we will just eat in today” He confessed. So there wa no meeting. I smiled.“I appreciate it, Jake,” I told him.“You’re the best thing that ever happened to me” My cheeks grew redder each second he complimented me. &nbs
CHAPTER FIFTY-SEVENI was still excited about the whole engagement when I woke up in the morning. I woke up with a huge smile on my face."Baby." He called when I kept smiling at my hand where my ring was placed."Hmm" I answered not looking up."We need to talk" This, caught my attention."Is something wrong?" He shook his head No, "Everything is great we just need to make some decisions before the dinner tonight." He explained."Ok. What is it?" I asked."When do you want us to get married?" He asked me."I honestly don't care. Anytime you're ready" I answered honestly."Tomorrow then?" He said. I laughed."Really? Jake" I was still laughing."Just kidding. I just want to make you my wife so fast. I can do it now if possible." He said. "Pick any da
"She is going to make you both late on your first day of school." My mom gave me a pitiful smile as she handed me a plate of sandwhich and coffee.I gave her a grateful smile and then shrugged, "it's not the first time she will make me late on the first day of school," I adjusted the huge frame of glasses, "or any other day for that matter." I took a bite from the sandwhich."Arielle! You're going to make your brother late!" My mom shouted as she placed another plate of sandwhich and coffee on the island."I'm coming! Almost done!" She shouted back. That's what she said ten minutes ago.My mom sighed as she rolled her eyes and then proceeded to wash the dishes. "That's what she said ten minutes ago." My mom muttered as she continued scrubbing the plate under the running tap.I laughed to myself, we just said the same thing.
Come on Maria," I heard Joe's annoying voice, my best friend and also my roommate, "let's go out today."I sighed as I rubbed my temples with my hands. "Joe," I called as I turned to face her, only to see her sitting in a weird position on her couch, "we have been arguing about this for about two hours now. When are you going to give up?""Never!" She answered and then groaned.I rolled my eyes at her and then proceeded to stare at my laptop screen. I have been trying to continue the young adult story I have been writing since last year, all to no avail. When I type about two sentences and I re-read that particular sentences they look weird in my head and then that leads me to deleting them and ending up with a blank screen all over again."You have been staring at that screen for the past three hours and I am very sure you have not written anything." Well, that is partially true.I groaned as I shut down my laptop and
I woke up with my head pounding dangerously. I groaned as I rubbed my forehead with my eyes still closed. I sat uprightly on the bed and then relaxed but I was naked, I never ever sleep naked. With that thought in my mind my eyes flew open and I took in the strange expensive room I was in.I tried getting up from the bed with panic in me but ended up falling from the bed due to the duvet tangling with my leg and let out an "oomph." Ouch. That hurts.I stood up from the bed with the duvet wrapped around my body and quickly scanned around the room then noticed my clothes were scattered around the room alongside with some male clothing. This is all Joe's fault. I thought groaning.I heard the water running from the bathroom, so the person is probably in having his bath. That should give me time to get out of here. I started putting on my clothes and then started looking for my panties only to find them ripped apart, then the me
"You ran away. I expected you to still be in bed by the time I came out of the bathroom, but you were gone.""Yeah. It was a one night stand." I reminded him. "Besides I was drunk and I never do that type of stuff, just wanted to take my mind off things.""Can we get out of here, to talk about some stuffs?" He asked."No." I eyed him before I made my way around him and thankfully he did not stop me this time.I came back outside only to find Joe already waiting for me. She gave me the 'what the hell is happening look?'I sighed as I took my seat opposite her, "spill it." She always knew whenever I was hiding something."Apparently that other guy with Philip turns out to be the guy I had a one night stand with." I groaned as I massaged my temples."Wait, what?!""You heard me." I placed my head on her table. I was perfectly fine, not Knowing who the guy was."So you ar
Holy shit! That was what was running through my head as soon as we left the hospital with my test result.Holy shit! That was what was running through my head as I thought of what my parents and grandparents were going to think of me. I can not have a child! I am barely an adult myself. My mind was not on what Joe was rambling about when we were in the car, I was very far away, my mind had already wandered away, well, that was before she tapped me."Maria, are you listening to me?""Sorry, what were you saying?" I had a confused look on my face."I said are you going to tell Jake about the child. He is obviously the owner of the child.""I don't know." I shook my head as I felt tears at the rim if my eyes. "What are my parents going to say?!""I don't know," she shrugged, "they will have to accept you and your child anyways. And don't even think of aborting that baby." She gave me a firm look.Even if she didn't tell me that, I was no
"Hey mom." I finally had the guts to pick up the phone to call home. I was presently sitting on my bed, my legs tucked under me with a pillow pulled closely towards me."Hey baby." She greeted back, I could already imagine the large smile on her face because I rarely called home. "How are you? How is New York treating you?" She asked and I could hear voices at the other end of the line. Probably my cousins."I am good. Fairly." I answered her questions already fidgetting, not knowing how to bring the topic up. How do you fucking tell your mom, you're pregnant! I am officially dead."So, what's the matter? Why are you calling?" She chuckled, "you rarely call, well, unless you need something."I sighed, "I-uh- I need to talk to you about something." I wiped my already sweaty hands on the pillow."Okay, I am listening." I already knew I have her full attention, "did something bad happen?" Her voice got louder and I'm sure the others-

‘’Really?’’ I asked trying so hard to hide my excitement from him.‘’Yes love’’ He answered with a smile. He drops his hands to my waist letting them linger on my butt. I did not say anything about this because I really did miss his touch and having so much of his time like this. It should not be like this but I guess that’s what having children can do to you. I smiled as I looked up at him.‘’I love you so much Maria’’ He whispered with a look of pride in his eyes. I blushed so had under his gaze.‘’I love you too’’ I said back to Jake.‘’No, tell me you love me’’ He begged. I chuckled at his request but obliged.‘’I love you’’ I said to him truly. I really miss this, having him in my arms and just being with each other.
Yes, it went badly. I was supposed to spend thirty minutes max, but no, the woman decided to keep me for an extra hour and theiry minutes. I spent two fucking hours! Two fucking whole hours sitting in a coffee shop, with an old woman who I haven't seen since I was probably five or six. Now imagine eeveything that has happened in here life since then. She decided it was just the right time to tell me everything that has happened in her life, her make son's life- who is about my age range and her grandchildren life.I exhaled loudly as I opened my car door and then got out of the car as I made my way back inside the house with the huge brown envelope. I brought out my phone from my back pocket and then dialed my mom's number as I entered into the elevator."Hey mom.""Maria! How are you?""I'm fine. I'm good. I already got your envelope." I rested against the wall of the elevator as I pressed the button to the top floor."Oh t
"Is your mom still coming to pick up the kids?" I grumbled as I threw the blanket over my body and then stood up from the bed. I walked slowly towards our bathroom, ruhebbing the sleep from my eyes."Yeah, she is." He replied as he put on his black pants.I stared at my reflection in the mirror and then exhaled loudly. I picked up my toothbrush from where it is usually kept and then put the toothpaste on it. "You would be gone by then?" I asked as I poked my head into our bedroom and then started brushing my teeth as I stared at myself in the mirror."Yes. I think so.""Do you really have to go this early?" I asked as soon as I was done brushing my teeth and then walked back into our room."I do baby." He placed a kiss on my forehead, "I have an early meeting this morning."I groaned, "but we haven't been spending so much time together." I pouted."I know baby. I know and I will make it
It has been two months since Joe and Philip's wedding, August. My bundle of Joys are almost eight months old. Grayson and Arielle were busy playing with their toys, that was scattered around the living room and blabbering about whatever it is they blabber about. I have a red apple in hand as I go over the manuscript I am editing. In the last two months, I already started using glasses because I do stare at the screen of my laptop a lot and I have been having bad headaches."You actually do look sexier with your large glasses. I like it." Jake commented on it the first time he saw me wearing them.I tipped my glasses higher up on my nose to prevent it from falling off. I glanced at the large black wall clock and the time said past eight pm. I should probably take these kids to bed now.I shut down my laptop, "okay kids, it's time to go to bed." I cooed as I picked up Arielle while Grayson continued to play with his toy as he blabbered abo
Wedding bells.I love weddings. There is something about them that just makes me excited about them. It's Joe's wedding day. My best friend is getting married. and I am so happy for her. She deserves so much more after everything she has been through. And by that I mean her mother."Your make up is all done. Just a final touch." The male make up artist said as he applied his final touches to a grinning Joe. We locked gazes through the mirror and I gave her a sincere smile.I was indeed happy for my best friend and sister."That's it." The make up artist, John, smacked his lips and then Joe stood up as she walked over to me. I engulfed her in a long lasting hug."Is it bad that I am Nervous?" She chuckled slightly."No, it's not. It is perfectly normal, from everything I've read." I grinned. I could still tell she was nervous, "you are going to do fine. And no Philip is not going to walk away from the weddi
