She isn't the one

Earlier in the morning, A phone call from our family doctor woke me up. At the weekend, dealing with some business phone calls is like provoking my Wolf to start the war. And both of us hated it.

But the phone call wasn't unexpected.

It was scheduled for our, especially my family doctor to call me once he found the surrogate mother of my child who was out of nowhere after she left the hospital.

Today, my doctor called me, informing me that the woman, an Omega who is pregnant with my child is in my pack.

That's right. I hired a surrogate from our friendly neighbor pack to keep it confidential from my pack. And I am pretty sure the surrogate mother is on the run.

Right now, Patrick, my Beta opens the door for the woman who has my baby. I didn't meet her before but, my Beta, Patrick, a total asshole, well not with me, a good person, talked about her appearance and how she looks on the way here like he was playing a voice recorder repeatedly.

So, I am kinda intrigued to learn about the girl's appearance.

The swiftly opened door releases the air of the room. And with that wind, a tingling scent of freshly bloomed jasmine after a rain shower spreads the room. I have never smelled such a unique and refreshing odor, but my Wolf is entranced. He growls and I know what the meaning is.

" Our Mate! We found Mate. She is carrying our pup."

Gabriel, my Wolf howls in my head. His excitement is palpable. But my eyes fixated on her.

The figure walks towards me, her snow-white legs are dangling from the hem of her silk dress. Her curly black hair cascades down her waist, her sapphire-blue eyes are vibrant and somehow shaky because of nervousness. Her hand time to time reaches her ear. The anxiety is palpable in her eyes and cold sweat is breaking through the smooth skin of her forehead. Her height is remarkable, perfect for me.

" Hello!" She stands in front of me, Her voice echoes in my eardrums, like a gentle whisper of an angel. She is beautiful and... Hot.

But, What I was expecting was, that she would recognize me as her mate, but oddly enough, she actually released a sigh of relief more than being shocked and stood away from me at a safe distance. She didn't recognize us as her mate.

" Isn't she hot? She is perfect. Can I kiss her? She deserves a kiss. Can you tell her to let my Wolfie out? I want to take her to my favourite lake and -"

" Shut up! Gabriel! She didn't recognize us." I shun my Wolf while keeping myself cold and indifferent.

" Hello, Ms. Ariana! This is Alpha Jacob Thompson! You are contracted to be the surrogate mother and give birth to Alpha Thompson's child!"

Patrick tries to explain the situation briefly. However, her expression makes everyone stun here.

" Excuse me! I am not Ariana! And I am pretty sure, the receptionist knows my real name!" She speaks calmly, trying to get the situation but her knees are shaking.

Is she lying about something? Why does she look like she will collapse at any time?

" There must be some misunderstanding! You are Ariana Dolan, the surrogate mother who -"

" I am Aurora Bliss! And I am not a surrogate mother. You must've mistaken me with someone else. So I am leaving!"

She speaks fast, her lips are dry and her eyes are unsettled. Something isn't right with her. She is in a hurry. Did she have her meal? The period of the surgery is almost over 18 weeks. She needs more protein and a balanced diet since she is carrying my child. Not everyone can bear my child. Since she is my mate, no wonder she is fine without me.

" When did you have your last meal?" I asked in the middle of this confused conversation. I can't ignore her situation.

She stops, trying to make a reason. " Why do you ask? I am not Ariana Dolan. Here is my identity card. I am here to visit the pack. I got my passport and -" she pauses, her eyes are shutting down...

As I thought...

She almost collapsed. Thankfully I was alert enough to grab her on time. Or I might have lost our baby.

" What happened to her?" Patrick questions while hurrying to call for an ambulance.

" She must've been under stress. But why is her identity different from the information we got? Investigate the situation. I will take her to the hospital!"

I said carrying her into my arms. She is so light. I can feel her bones. What was she doing? Is she unaware of her pregnancy?

I can't understand the reason, But my heart and my wolf are desperate. We must hurry...

At the hospital...

" You are right? She has been skipping her meal from time to time. She has been dieting! I guess!" Our family doctor states...

" She is probably unaware of her pregnancy. What made things worse is that she has been stressed. So make sure she doesn't stress herself anymore. I have given her an IV drop. She will be fine!" He adds more.

" But, Doc. Are you sure she is the girl who we hired as a surrogate mother? Because her information isn't the same as we collected!" I furrow my brows since he is trustworthy and he knows what I am doing. So he won't mess up with such an important matter.

But Doc hums with a soft nod, " Can't your Wolf smell your pup here?"

" We both can. But she isn't her, the girl you hired!" I demand. I hate when people mess up with my serious matters.

" That's what I have been thinking of. The girl we hired has blonde hair. Like a royal lineage. But she isn't - Is she some whore who tricked us and -"

Before he can complete the entire sentence, my claws appear, my Wolf is enraged... " Watch your tongue before speaking. She is our mate!"

I growl, silencing the doctor. How dare he talks bullshit about our mate!!!

" Sorry! Alpha! I didn't know she is our Luna!" Please forgive me!" he immediately apologizes.

" Explain what you did. How did everything happen?" I grit but now I need to stay calm.

" I am positive and I swear, I am not aware of how these happened. I couldn't leave the pack when all the procedures happened because of Alpha Nolan's Daughter. She had a fever. So I don't know anything much about it!"

Seems like the real problems occurred in the hospital. Then how did she end up there?

Still, I feel relieved. Now I don't have to worry about any other things.

" We should take our mate home. She will be delighted after seeing how beautiful our cave is!"

" Are you taking your pregnant Mate in your stupid cave?" I scoff at my Wolf. He is behaving like a silly Wolf as soon as he met her.

But why didn't she recognize us?
