Jessica was glad for once that the radio was on. There was a long awkward interaction between both of them from the house and Xavier had switched on the radio. He just had to have the radio switched on because he was not sure what to say and it was better to drown out the noise. A love song began playing over the radio and blasting fully into the car. Jessica cleared her throat and looked around her eyes darting around the car uncomfortably. She hated the situation. The lyrics of the song were very sensual and kind of demanding. She could not help herself as her hand went to the radio controls and Xavier's hand went there too. She felt the contact electrify her whole body as his hand recoiled and she looked out the window."You can change it to whatever suits you" Jessica looked at him as his eyes were fixated on the road. Did he also feel what she just felt? That jolt of electricity that made her feel alive? "It's fine, You can change it since you wanted to do so earlier" Xavie
"Oh my Jessica," Ethan said as he kissed the back of her hands when she came down to meet him. "Good evening Mr. Ramirez," Jessica said as she curtsied a little. "Oh please I'm just Ethan," he said patting her hand. "You are too beautiful, How did you end up with Xavier here?" he lowered his voice. "If I had met you first I would have asked you to be my wife for the second time" "Oh my, I'm so flattered," Jessica said with a flush screening up her face. 'She must really blush for everything and everyone' Xavier murmured within himself. He hated the interaction that went on in front of him. He knew that Ethan was capable of offering Jessica a better bargain than he had but he wanted to trust that a man the age of his father would not chase after his wife. "Let's go in," he said finally dropping Jessica's hand and turning to go in. "You are supposed to be my loving wife not his" Xavier murmured into her ears as he caught up with her and walked side by side with her. "What was I s
"Now I am deeply invested in your tale," Ethan said dropping his glass onto the table. "So we parted ways without knowing each other but I knew him. Who does not know the Xavier Delgado? Then we met again at the courthouse once again. This time I approached him because why not? We decided to get married at the courthouse we had met twice" Jessica did not want to skip out on the most important part of the story which was the courthouse. The reason they knew each other was because of the courthouse. It had to be a part of the story for sure. "I'm in love with your love," Ethan said his eyes twinkling. "Such a touching story isn't it? Jessica?" Xavier said. He was amazed at her incredible quickness in the formulation of such a tale. "It happened to me but I still find it very cute," Jessica said running her hand over his arm and smiling. "Yes, Maria?" Ethan said as he watched Maria enter the room and wait for him. "Dinner is being served now, chairman," Maria said with a bow befo
For the rest of the dinner, Ethan teased Jessica about her love for Xavier while Xavier remained silent all through. He was wondering if she was just a good actress to be able to portray her emotions as such or if it was that she just was telling the truth. They had now moved to the living room and Jessica was the one carrying the conversation with Ethan while Xavier remained absent-minded. "Why don't we sign the contract? I can see that both of you are living the life. If only my children could do the same" Ethan said looking towards Xavier. He made no movement at all and stood in stillness. Jessica saw this and put her hands over his. He bolted to life and looked her way. "Honey, Ethan has agreed to sign the contract," she said her expression asking him if he was okay. She hoped he would be able to see her emotions in her words. "Oh yeah," he said pulling out his hand from underneath hers. "So sorry my mind is wandering a lot because of the news I got from the office today" Xav
Ethan insisted that they had a couple of drinks to celebrate their honeymoon and the contract signing. Xavier tried to let him know that the reason he did not want to drink was because he drove. Ethan got a driver to take them home and only released them to go when they were all very drunk. "You are drunk," Jessica said pushing Xavier aside as he fiddled with the key. "This is something easy How can you not know how to do it" she said in between hiccups. "I can do it" Xavier slurred as he blinked. He slapped himself across the face to keep himself awake. "Stop that, it hurts," Jessica said grabbing his hand as she threw the key across the lawn. "Stop it?" Xavier hiccuped and moved back and forth. "The door" he pointed at the door as a giggle left his mount. "Oh," she said as she tried to slowly climb down the stairs to the lawn. "Xavier light," she said as if she was commanding someone. Xavier bowed his head and came to stand beside her. He bent down and began to search for the
"Oh my god, my head" Jessica groaned as she sat up on the bed. She looked around the room and her eyes fell on Xavier who was standing shirtless in the kitchen with his back to her. He was rummaging through the refrigerator. She cleared her throat and tried to stand up. She felt a wave of shock pulsate through her system as her leg touched the ground. "I do badly at drinking so why do I drink" she asked herself as she slipped her legs into the house slippers. She walked to the kitchen and stood beside him "Can I have a bottle of water too?" she asked closing her eyes. "Here" he pointed a bottle to her from the fridge. "Are you fine?" she asked as she went to sit on the kitchen island. "What?" He asked closing the fridge and turning to her. "You've been standing there" She pointed to the refrigerator and then gulped down half of the bottle of water. "I needed something to relieve hangover, apparently there is nothing worthy of doing the job there" he sighed coming to stand in f
Jessica screamed out and stood up. All she had done at night yesterday began to come back to her memory. She indirectly confessed to Xavier yesterday. "What have I done?" she muttered as she stood in awe. She could not believe what she had done. She always made mistakes when she drank so why did she drink every time? "What is it?" Xavier asked moving closer to her. "Don't come close" she screamed making him stop in his tracks. "What is it? Why are you acting this way?" he asked again forgetting that he had dialed the number of the delivery place. "Hello sir" the phone vibrated in his hand. "Hold on, I need to order the soup," he said putting his phone back to his ears. Jessica took that as an opportunity to flee. Her head was pounding but she knew that it was time for her to leave. How could she stand there and watch him? She began to walk hurriedly out of the house. "Wait" Xavier could barely get the word out when she had dashed out of the house so fast he could not catch u
Jessica had no choice but to take the soup. Not only did she need the soup to cure her handover. It was still warm so it would warm her up and stop her cold. "Why did you sprint so fast out of the house?" Xavier asked looking down at the ocean. Jessica coughed as she choked on the soup in her mouth. "Be careful, here" Xavier did handing her an opened bottle of water. "Thanks," Jessica said downing down the bottle. "So why did you sprint?" "Nothing in particular," she said playing with her soup with the spoon in her hand. Was she to say Oh, I remembered all I did yesterday and the embarrassment was overwhelming that I could not face you properly. "If it's about what happened yesterday then you have nothing to worry about. I know it was a drunken mistake" Jessica's whipped to face him. He remembered and was making excuses for her. How sweet of him. 'Except that it was not a drunken mistake. I have really taken a liking to you. I like you Xavier Delgado' she said to herself. H
