Xavier went upstairs to check on Jessica and she was already awake sitting upright on the bed looking around. He rushed go her side and touched her hair gently. "How do you feel?" he asked and she looked up at him and blinked multiple times. "I think I do feel better," she said. He took his hand off her head and walked to where her leg rested. He touched it as if he was afraid it would wake up a giant monster if he was not careful. "How does this feel?" he asked pressing on her ankle gently. She tried to hide the pain she felt by digusining it with a yawn. "That hurt didn't it?" he asked and she nodded. "I told you that we should not leave the hospital until you felt better but you assured me you were doing better already. What are we going to do about this sprain?" he ranted in questions. She sighed and shifted uncomfortably in the bed. "It is just a little sprain and I am sure I will be fine with the painkillers prescribed for me and with a little exercise too" she explained.
"What?" "You will never get used to me saying things like that would you?" "So you were teasing me?" she asked throwing her head backward a bit. "It's always fun to tease you, you always respond" She felt her mouth go in a pout as she crossed her hand over her chest. "But on a more serious note, I think I need to have my bath," she said struggling to free her leg from his grip. "Take me with you," he said like a child who was being denied something he so desperately wanted. "Stop it, Xavier," she said quietly as if they were not the only ones in the room and she was ashamed to let anyone hear them. "Take me with you" he echoed his first statement again. She stood up and felt a surge of pain rush down and settle at her ankle. She tried her best to control the pain she felt at that moment. "See you are not fine, you need me to help you," he said when he saw the reaction on her face for her stepping on the leg. "I am..." she began to talk but was cut off by the ringing of his p
When Jessica came out of the bathroom she felt somewhat empty not seeing Xavier there. She picked up her phone from the nightstand and made her way downstairs. Her attention was drawn to the small chatter in the living room and she went there. "How did you walk by yourself all the way here?" Xavier asked when he saw her limping and walking toward him. "I can not stay coupled up in the room all day, and I need to exercise it so it can heal faster too" she explained. He met her halfway and helped her gently to the couch where she proceeded to have her seat. Her eyes landed on the two men who were standing there. She found it suspicious because she knew all the house staff and they were not a part of them. She tried to control her gaze from falling so continuously on them but it was quite difficult for her. "Who?" she whispered leaning to ask Xavier who was sitting right next to her. "Why don't we let them introduce themselves?" he asked before turning to face the men standing there
"Come on, Xavier I am fine, it was a one-time thing with my aunt and I am sure there would be no way she could do something like that again" "Jessica, can you just do this for me?" "For you?" "I was so worried today and I am sure with these men with you we can avoid any incident like this again" She looked up and tried to think it through. Won't others think she was stuck up and proud if she went around with a security detail? Chichester was a relatively peaceful place so people rarely had security details follow them around. "Just so I know you are safe at all times" he added when she was quiet for too long. "Are you going to have to?" she asked. Xavier opened his mouth to answer but stopped when he thought about it deeply once again. She was the one who was kidnapped but here she was still worried about his safety. "Why don't you worry about yourself first" he asked rubbing her knee with his hand. "Are you?" she asked tilting her head a little. "Yes, I will," he said takin
"Jessica was kidnapped today" "What?" Leslie said the spoon in her hand dropping to the plate. Her husband had come home and was so quiet. She just assumed he must have had a rough day at work. She prepared a light meal and the opening line for their dinner discussion was this? "What do you mean?" she pressed further when he said nothing to follow up the statement he had just dropped on her. He kept putting the food in his mouth and chewing ever so slowly. "Brian? What are you talking about?" she asked again when her husband was not seeming to tell her everything. "I just thought to let you know, I know you will get to hear from Jessica too" he answered before taking a sip of the water in the cup in front of him. "So has she been found?" she asked worried. She could feel the way her forehead creased as she spoke. "Yes, as when last I spoke with Brian he said that they were on their way to the house from the hospital" he explained. Leslie wondered how he was so calm while tellin
Xavier strictly forbade Jessica from entering the kitchen to prepare dinner. "I am fine, I am sure I can whip something up real quick" she protested when he tried to hold her in place to stop her from moving away. "I know you are fine but you can not be standing on that leg," he said pointing to her ankle. "I would stand only when necessary there are a lot of seats in the kitchen too" she continued. "If you do more trust any of the staff with your meal how about we order in then?" he said changing the course of the conversation. He could not believe how stubborn she was about cooking a meal. They had sat there in the living room chair going back and forth about the cooking situation. He had managed to convince her to accept the bodyguards but there was something else she was not comfortable with. She was a different brand entirely and he could not deny it. "It's not that I do not trust them" she started when her eyes caught the eyes of Abgel as she passed by the hallway. "See n
"No" "No?" she asked shocked "I just recently developed feelings for you" "Wait so why are you angry that a man was lusting after me? How did you even notice this?" "Jessica how would a man feel if another was going after his wife, definitely he would notice it," Xavier said defending himself. "I am so sure that like me you also already had feelings for me but you were hiding it," she said before resting deep into the sofa. "You also had feelings?" he asked enjoying the moment they were having now. "So did you" she retorted with a smirk. "Why don't we get dinner?" he asked. "Why are you changing the topic?" she asked as she tried to pry in his face. "Changing the topic?" he scoffed. "I am just bothered that it might be too late to have dinner, so I want to make sure that you have one so you can use the medicine you were given" "You are definitely changing the topic but I will let it slide because you seem embarrassed to admit that you already liked me then""Wait, embarrass
The next morning Jessica insisted on following Xavier to the police station. He wanted to refuse but he knew that she needed to give her testimony and she might want to see her aunt. Before he finally fell asleep the Inspector General of Police told him that they had found Olivia and she was currently in the police cell. "Just give your statement and I will take you back home," he told her and she nodded. They dove into the police station and were ushered to the inspector's office. A whole later they were taken to the interrogation room where the man who was the boss yesterday was being asked questions. The officer they saw there told them that he had confessed to everything. Jessica thought about how her life might have turned out if her aunt had done this to her when she had nobody like Xavier to help her out. She would have maybe been sold out by those men while her aunt might have lived a free life outside while she tried to continue gambling. Xavier asked for the maximum pun
