After Xavier, Brian, and Jason finished their meeting it was already almost sunrise. Xavier drove Jason back to his hotel. They needed to rest up so they can be in time for the business launch that evening. "Young master, you are welcome" one of the staff greeted when she saw Xavier walk in tiredly with his hair scattered. Jessica heard the conversation in the kitchen. She was tempted to go out to have a look at him. She wanted to see him and tell him thank you in person. "Where is Jessica?" Jessica heard Xavier tell the staff. "She is in the kitchen preparing breakfast" she responded. "Thank you," Xavier said walking towards the kitchen. He had wanted to see her since he left home. Maybe he just wanted to know how she was doing. That is what it had to be. Jessica heard him walk toward the kitchen and she quickly tried to fix her hair and act as if she was busy even though she was waiting for the muffins she had put in the oven. "Why are you up so early?" she heard his voice.
Jessica did all she had to do and then went to rest up in the room. When she entered she saw Xavier sleeping soundly on the bed. She sat on the bed and watched him silently. "What are you doing?" she murmured to herself lowly. She stood up from the bed and went to the closet. She had a quick shower and changed her clothes. She came and climbed into the bed. She turned her back to Xavier because she could not understand why and how she was staring at him so fondly. She knew she had a soft spot for him. He seemed lonely and she wanted to make his life comfortable. What was this she was feeling all of a sudden? Was he not in love with Burke? He was the one she loved how can suddenly think that Xavier was sexy? She did not want to stare at him any longer. Maybe it was because he did something that was out of the ordinary. Maybe if he did something like he usually did he would fade away from her mind. Her thoughts consumed her until she drifted into sleep. Xavier stood up to see Jessi
"Why would you come back to work? You are sick" Xavier said. "And you are eyeing my position because I am doing very well now," Dawson said. Xavier was not angry at his grandfather's statement. It was just that he had to leave work because of his health and now he was saying he would resume back. "Papa I would never eye your position," Xavier said. "But how do you expect me to allow you to get back to work when you can barely walk around on your own" "I don't need to work to get the work done," Dawson said countering his standpoint. "Gilbert, book a flight to Aurora Haven," Dawson said addressing the man pushing him. "Mr. Gilbert did not take a step from that spot," Xavier said his voice firm. "Gilbert you work for me and not for Xavier here," Dawson told him. "Hurry along" "Papa tell Gilbert to wait and not go please," Xavier said in a sad voice. His grandfather wanted to go on a trip to Aurora Haven when he was not even in the right state to move from room to room. Dawson
"Jessica?" Xavier spat her name like it was some poison. Why did she need to come up when they were discussing work matters? "Yes, Jessica. If I go there then Ethan would have no problem giving me the contract because he knows that I am married and my wife died early but then in your case, he does not know you or if you are married" Dawson said wheeling himself closer to Xavier. "Why do I need to take her? I am just telling him that I am married with evidence" Xavier said. "He would not sign until he sees you are a happy young couple" "Do I really need to take her?" Xavier continued in questioning. He hated mixing pleasure and business. He looked up from his grandfather and his eyes locked with Jessica standing there with her hair nearly packed. She cleared her throat when their eyes jammed. "I did not mean to eavesdrop," she said making Dawson turn and Gilbert turn his head. He had heard of the woman who married the spoilt little grandson of the Delgado family but he had not s
"I don't want you to get the wrong idea. I have no interest in going with you to Aurora Haven. I even have to stay back to set up my restaurant so...." Jessica trailed off when she saw his expression. She did not want him assuming as he had done before that she was plotting with Dawson for any reason he thought. She hated traveling probably because she did not have the chance to travel but she would not want to go especially since she had seen his reaction earlier. "Let's go convince him that we would go," Xavier said ignoring her first statement. He did not want her to go but if that was what it took for Dawson to rest back then he would have to do it. "Aren't you listening to me?" Jessica said stopping him in his tracks. "Does what we want matter now? Are we going to allow him to travel six hours across because of us?" Xavier asked his voice almost in a shout. Jessica then remembered the reason why she should not like this man in front of her. Why did she even think that they
Having him help out with her zipper was strange to both of them. Jessica stood stiff like a monument that was put in place. "All done," Xavier said as he took some steps backward. "Thank you," she said awkwardly and moved a step forward before turning to him. "I would quickly take a shower and change up and then we can go," Xavier told her. "Okay," she nodded in agreement. She did not have anything against it. If not she had promised Alicia maybe she would have escaped the whole scene and stayed home all day laying down. "I would go downstairs and ensure that a meal is prepared for Dawson's dinner" she called after him. She went downstairs and entered the kitchen. Angel's eyes fell on her and she whistled unconsciously. "How rude of you" Roselle chastised her. "What did she do that was so rude, that you had to scold her so much?" Jessica asked. She liked that at least someone in the house had appreciated her beauty even though Xavier was the first to see her in that dress all
The makeup was done with a lot of complaints from Jessica. She found the style of the artist a bit too much than she could handle. "I don't intend to steal the show," Jessica said when Leslie tried to convince her to have heavy makeup. "You are married to a Delgado, you would always stake the show even if you did not mean to," Leslie told her. "Oh I see you are preparing for an event," Genevieve said as she entered inside. "Oh, my God. Lady Genevieve" Leslie said when she saw her walk in. Since she knew Xavier quite well she also knew of his family issues too. She knew what Genevieve did and why she did them. She has not seen her in a long while. She liked the woman for some very weird reason which seemed only appropriate to her. "Oh my Leslie," Genevieve said going in for a hug. "I have missed you and all the fun things you do," Leslie said tightening the hug. "I never thought I would see you again when Xavier refused you and you got married," Genevieve said touching her face
Genevieve had left the room because of the tension. She could not take the deep stares going on between both parties. She decided Tobago Roselle out in the kitchen to prepare the meal for dinner. Jessica stood looking at Xavier hoping he would say something to ease the tension she currently felt. She felt her stomach knot together and found it hard to control her rapid breathing. Xavier stares at her deeply and intently. He wanted to compliment her but it was hard for him seeing that he had never had a reason to do so to a woman before. "Let's go," he said shortly after he saw her shuffle on her feet. "Okay," she said trying her best to steady her voice. She knew she looked beautiful. Leslie and Genevieve had told her how beautiful she looked. She has seen that the makeup artist did a fantastic job in making her shine. But how was it that he could not say a single word about how she looked? It was not like she was seeking his validation or any sort of thing like that. A simple c
