Book Two Branch Two Hundred and Nineteen

By the time Jessica Nas Xavier's car drove into the compound of Leslie and Brian, there was a kind of atmosphere that Jessica could not place her hand on but she did not like it.

They got into the house with the help of a little girl who ushered them into the living room. "The lady of the house will be with you soon," the girl said slowly before trying to walk away.

"Tell Brian to join us as well," Xavier said.

The girl shivered like a cold wave of wind passed by her, her eyes turned bright as if she was a deer caught in light. "The lord has gone to work" the girl responded with fear.

"To work? That's impo..."

"Thank you so much then," Jessica said dismissing the girl. She could sense that there was something she was ordered to hide and to know what that thing should be they did not need to face the little girl but heat from the horse's mouth.

"He went to work? I did not ask him to go in though" Xavier said with confusion.

"We don't know what's going on so let's wait for Leslie" Jes
