"When would our food be here?" Aletta asked trying to stall. She knew she was going to tell him at the end of the day but she wanted to try her best to stall for as long as possible.Joshua took up his phone and tapped away before looking up at her. "They should be arriving in five minutes or less" he said and she nodded."Let's take a tour of the house and talk over the food" she said pushing herself out of the chair they had made themselves comfortable. "Okay," he said as he shrugged. There was nothing else to do after all. He could not give her a tour because he did not know the place as well as the owner should know.He had been here once, this time making it the second time he visited the place. All he knew was that his family had a house on the outskirts of Grace Street. "Aren't you going to give me a tour?" she asked and he shook his head."I don't know where anything goes," he said. Aletta thought it was a shame that the fully furnished house housed no one."Why did you brin
"Can we have something to drink while we speak?" Aletta asked and Joshua shrugged. "Like what do you fancy?" he asked walking to the refrigerator that was in the same space as they were. After the meal, they cleaned up and were currently standing in the kitchen. Joshua opened the door to the refrigerator and stood there with the scanty shelves that had only water bottles on them. "Well water?" he asked stretching the bottle he took from the shelf to her."This can do" She took the bottle he opened from him and put it in her mouth. The silence was deafening and Joshua was eager to know what was going on but did not want to seem forward. "You asked me yesterday about two things" Aletta began and Joshua inched closer to her waiting to hear her response. "Yeah," he muttered and she nodded. "Before I answer that I want to tell you something important" she said retrieving the envelope enclosing the letter from her bag. She stretched the envelope to him and he took it."What's in here?
She had wanted him to understand her choice and respect it but now that he understood the situation so well and was not showing any signs of having a hard time letting her go it somehow hurt her pride. "What do you mean?" He asked pulling away from her and holding her shoulders."I am leaving as your assistant but it does not seem to bug you," she said with a pout. She felt the need to drag out the situation and sulk but she knew she might be the one in the end to reach out to him and she did not have the energy for all that yet. "Why would it not bug me? I would be so helpless without you, who else can do such a great job like you?" he asked closing his eyes."But you seemed so relaxed about the news," she said as her voice trailed off till it was almost silent."I mean you are doing your own thing, something you have always wanted. I am so happy for you and I don't want to tell my feelings to get in the way of what you want" he said. She understood him immediately, he was trying
A stream of light hit Joshua's eyes as she tumbled in bed. His body hit something and the memories of yesterday came back rushing to him. He smiled as she pushed his hand underneath Aletta's head and pulled her close to him."Good morning" she murmured in his arms and he let out a small chuckle."Good morning" he whispered back to her and planted a kiss on her forehead. "We would be late for work" he whispered when she held onto him tightly."Just a minute more" she whispered back and he held her tightly."It feels good," he said in her ears and she nodded before replying. "It does feel good," By the time they struggled out of bed, they knew they were definitely late for work so they had to rush out of the house and go get clothes to change."Since we would be living here what do you say about designing it to your taste?" Joshua suggested as he drove her to her house."Me?" "Yes, you," he said and she shook her head."Oh no, I would not trust me with that task if I were you" she sai
Aletta looked up to see Leslie standing at her table. She had not seen the woman outside of situations where she had to meet the Delgado family so seeing here was a bit out of place for her."I am here to see Joshua, he is in right?" Leslie said and walked into the office without sparing her a glance. She pushed the door open without a knock and Aletta tried to get a glimpse of Joshua's face to see his reaction to the woman."Joshua," she said as the door closed shut."Aunty Leslie" Joshua said standing up and coming to her. "When was the last time I saw your face? It seems like you are avoiding me" she said taking her seat on the couch."I am so sorry I have been so busy with work" Joshua said trying to make an excuse for himself."I understand," she said dismissively."What brings you here?" Joshua asked. She had never been to his office before so she must have a reason to be there with him."Aren't you going to offer me something to drink?" She asked and he shook his head. "Of co
"What?" Joshua asked shifting in his chair."I mean I get that you two could have a little fun with other people" she said stressing the word other people and giving Aletta a very bad look."What?" Joshua said again. He could not understand what she was saying. He did not want to understand what she was saying because to him it all sounded like nonsense."I mean, I also had fun in my days before I settled with Brian so it makes sense if you two want to play around but I expected you two to get married in the end" she said taking up the cup and sipping it.She spat out the entire content from her mouth into the cup and turned to Aletta who stood there waiting for Joshua to tell her what next to do. "What is this?" she asked with a grimace on her face."Lemon tea" Aletta replied."I asked for Earl Grey tea" Leslie said dropping the cup to the table."And I made it clear to you that we don't have that" "And I told you to go out of your way to get it," Leslie said as if she was challengi
Leslie rubbed her hand on her dress as she waited for Jessica. Jessica came out with a tray that contained a drink and some cookies. "Try this, I made them by myself," Jessica said with glee. Leslie smirked. Of course, Jessica wanted to show off what she had made she always did her things that way. "You did?" Leslie said in a fake voice as she took a bite of one of the cookies. She smiled, she could not deny that Jessica's meals were always so good. "This is so nice" Leslie commented and Jessica felt a smile creep up her face. "So you are here to see me?" Jessica asked as she took a cup and put it to her mouth. "Yeah, I came to talk to you about something" Leslie said dropping the half-eaten cookie to the saucer in front of her and then dusting her hands together. "Okay, what's that" Jessica had missed the friendship between herself, Leslie and Alicia. After Alicia moved in with her husband the friendship took a decline and she had noticed that Leslie did not reach out except she
First of I don't know if I should start with an apology or a vote of thanks because I owe both to my audience but here goes nothing. Dear Readers I am grateful to you all, you have been such support to me, asking for updates and even checking in on me while still checking out my other works it means so much to me. Now to my apology because you don't deserve what I have done to you all. How well can I say this so you all can understand!? As stated earlier I had a program which I had to attend and I was not allowed with electronic devices which resulted in my poor updates. When I got back from the camp I tried to begin writing for you all but I felt burnt out. So burnt out that the words that usually flowed so easily for me became hard and I even had a hard time writing little notes for myself and even replying to the messages of my loved ones. I found it hard to spell little words (And I mean it when I said I sat for a good thirty minutes trying to remember how to spell the word H
