Gab stiffened.

His heart then stopped for a second as he stared at her with eyes almost pop out of its socket while his jaw dropped.

“W-what?” He stammered.

“Will you marry me?” Sabrina repeated.

He clenched his fists tightly and looked at her as if she grew another head.

“Will you?” She asked with hopeful droopy eyes.

He swallowed hard not knowing what to say. Not because it was the first time a woman proposed to him, but the fact that it was the woman he knew for a long time.

Looking away, he cleared his throat and unbuttoned the first two buttons of his long sleeves.

“You’re just drunk. I’ll take you home,” he replied instead.

“No! Go back to your seat and answer me,” she demanded while pulling his arm. “Pretty please?”

His jaw hardened.

He didn’t have any patience for anyone and could’ve just walked out of the bar and left her there. However, he wouldn’t do that as she was the very reason why he was there in the first place.

Shaking his head, he took a deep breath and silently went back to his chair without glancing at her.

Meanwhile, Sabrina straightened on her seat and clapped her hands like a penguin while giggling. “Now answer me,” she commanded.

Gab shut his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose. Never did he expect the woman to be so persistent.

Finally, he turned to her direction and was about to reject her. However, he got stunned by the sight of her making the words get stuck in his throat.

The way she looked at him was making his walls crumble. Her red face was full of expectations that he doubted he could refuse if she repeated the question again.

Swallowing hard. He averted his gaze once again and just glared at innocent glass in front of him.

“Don’t you like me?” Sabrina suddenly asked.

Her voice sounded so sad which immediately caught his attention. Slowly, he looked at her again but his lips parted and his eyes widened upon seeing her already crying.

“Why are you crying?” He asked in shock.

“Is something really wrong with me? Why don’t you like to marry me?” her tears were flowing nonstop.

Gab panicked.

He didn't know how to comfort someone, thus he had no idea what to do to a crying person.

Cursing inwardly, he stood up and cupped her face. His heart melted seeing her bloodshot and puffy eyes staring back at him. Her nose and cheeks were red as well which made her look more like an pitiful innocent doll.

“Sshh, stop crying,” he hushed in a soft voice while wiping her tears.

Sabrina’s lips protruded. “Why do you hate me?” Her voice cracked.

Gab pursed his lips tightly. His chest tightened hearing her voice as he was not accustomed to it.

“Who said I hate you?” his thick eyebrows deeply creased.

“You don’t want to marry me. You’re just like Anthon. He didn’t want to marry me and proposed to someone else. Is something really wrong with me? Am I that ugly?”

In an instant his blood boiled.

That guy was a fool for taking the perfect woman for granted.

Gently caressing her cheeks, he leveled his face and looked straight into her eyes. “Don’t compare me to that douchebag. I’m not stupid like him”

“Then why don’t you want to marry me too?” She retorted.

“Because you’re drunk,” he replied patiently.

“So what if I am? I still know what I’m doing”

“Really?” he asked in amusement, “Then do you know who I am?”

Sabrina lifted her chin and smiled, “You’re Gab,” she quickly answered proudly.

“What’s my surname?” Gab probed.

Tilting her head, Sabrina’s eyebrows knitted and slowly, her smile faded.

“What’s your surname?” she repeated.

Gab chuckled.

He pinched her nose lightly then stood straight. “See? You don’t know me yet,” he muttered. “Don’t ask a stranger to marry you, especially when you’re drunk. You'll just going to regret it once you’re sober”

“But you’re not a stranger!” Sabrina argued.

His body froze.

Strangely, his heartbeat increased.

He suddenly stepped back while he stared at her as if she grew another head. He was not sure if he was nervous as he had never felt nervous before.

Meanwhile, Sabrina flashed a wide smile. “I know your name and we've been sitting here for hours and talking so you aren’t a stranger anymore~” she said in a sing-song.

Gab was gobsmacked.

He did not know whether to laugh or feel disappointed at her statement. But he admitted deep inside he got a little excited when she said he was not a stranger because he knew Sabrina for a long time.

“So, do you agree to marry me now, Gabby?”

‘Gabby,’ her voice echoed in his head.

It was like music to his ears. It sounded so good that he felt something inside his chest ignited.

His blue eyes darkened as he stared at Sabrina.

“Please?” her eyes glimmered while looking up at him.

And just like that, his self-restraint collapsed in an instant.

“Let’s go,” he said. Sabrina's brows knitted together, “Where?”Pursing his lips, he stared at her for a long time before he pulled her up by the arm. “Courthouse,” he answered curtly. “Courthouse?” She repeated. Gab pursed his lips as he stared at her innocent face. There was a nagging feeling inside him that was telling him what he was about to do was wrong. However, seeing her droopy but sparkling eyes immediately pulled him deeper into his desire. Shutting his eyes, he shook his head and groaned. Then, upon opening his eyes, he immediately scooped her up and carried her out of the bar. “Heeyyy~” giggling, Sabrina clung her arms around his neck. “We’re not married yet. Shouldn’t you give me a ring first before you carry me to your room?” she chuckled. Shaking his head, Gab unlocked his car and put her in the passenger’s seat. “Stay still,” he muttered when the woman wiggled from her seat. “I need a ring!” “I know. Just wait for it, okay?” He smiled then patted her head. C

Holding her breath, she carefully lifted the blanket only to find out that she was not wearing any clothes. In an instant, her body froze seeing a muscled arm resting on her naked torso. “Good morning, wife,” a warm breath fanned her left ear. Her eyes almost popped out of its socket. Immobile, her eyes were fixated at the unfamiliar arm that was comfortably wrapped around her waist.“Still sleepy?” A deep and raspy voice entered her ears. Blinking several times, she finally snapped out of her trance and almost instantly, she hastily lifted the blanket to cover herself while trying to scoot aside. She was not able to move right away as her brain was still processing what he had just said. Sabrina’s eyes were bulging as she stared at the woman. As soon as she stepped out of the mansion, she was stunned to see a spacious and almost empty front yard. It was different from her expectations. She expected to see a huge garage with lots of cars but what welcomed her were rows of small, neatly trimmed bushes, trees, well-manicured lawns, shrubs and a long driveway. Curling her fingers, her lips parted as her eyes marveled around the area. “Where are you

Sabrina clutched her chest as tears started falling down her face. She couldn’t believe that Anthon could do that to her. They’ve been together for five years and during those times, she did nothing but gave everything he wanted. She treated him like a king and served him like she was a freaking servant. Her dress was soaked with her tears but she did not care. Her heart was very heavy and she felt like the world was on her shoulder. Everything she had just disappeared in a snap just like that. Her boyfriend, her best friend, her apartment and most especially her virginity all were taken away from her in just a short span of time. She bit the bottom of her lips hard as she suppressed her sobs. Immediately, she wiped her face and hastily gathered all her things that were scattered on the floor. Although she had a hard time putting it all inside the luggage, she still managed to take all the important things with her and quickly left the building. Deliberately, she left the money An

She planned to ignore her and just walked past her. But the woman immediately walked past her and blocked her way. “I thought you’re not going to show up anymore. Subconsciously, she scrubbed her arms as she shivered down her spine. “Are you here to talk about work or about our marriage?” his deep voice resonated inside the room, cutting off the defending silence. Nathalia quickly looked at Sabrina and laughed haughtily. “Your charm didn’t work to the CEO,” she chuckled. Her eyes sparkled in delight but instantly it wiped away when Gabriel’s men went to her and grabbed her by the arms. “W-what are you doing?!” She asked, panicking. “Miss Smith, you need to go with us,” the chief officer stated nonchalantly. “No! Why are you taking me? It's not me! That woman is the culprit! Let go!” She screeched. “Nathalia!” Anthon screamed in panic. He then walked to Gabriel and pointed at Sabrina. “Are you out of your mind?! That freak was the one they should capture, not my fiancèe!”Sabrina’s heart throbbed. Anton must’ve loved Nathalia so much that he did not care about his position and talked that way to his boss.“Mr Fuego,” Harold called him in a warning tone. “Arrest?” Sabrina stiffened. The chief office stepped closer along with the other. “We received a complaint and said that Miss Sabrina Bennette had stolen some confidential documents from the company. We’re here to interrogate the suspect and investigate what happened”Subconsciously, Sabrina looked at Gabriel. She nearly had a heart attack as it was the very first time she had a face-to-face with the officers. She was a good citizen and never broke any rules, never did she even receive a ticket for any road violation as she always made sure to drive safely and accordingly. “Who called you?” Gabriel queried.Sabrina turned to him and saw his thick eyebrows were deeply furrowed. His blue eyes were somehow a little darker than usual while his sharp jaw hardened. Her body then straightened as she felt his palm gently rested on the small of her back.“A woman named Nathalia Smith called us and said it’s an urgent case,” the chief officer responded. Just then, Nathalia came into the pi

Sabrina almost fainted at the scene. He didn’t do that! Her eyes went round as she glared at him. However, Gabriel just flashed her an amused smile before giving his attention back to her father. “Shouldn't we discuss this in my home?” Tomas said in a calm and polite tone. Sabrina's body straightened when she found her father's gaze. She was pretty sure he's going to ask a lot of questions and she was not ready to tell him what happened that night. Twisting her lips, she lowered her head and fiddled with her fingers. “I'm really planning to meet you outside to talk about this. I'm just waiting for your daughter's decision..” Gabriel trailed off. As soon as he said it, Sabrina could feel her father's stares. However, she didn't move, scared to see his reaction. He knew how badly she wanted to marry Anthon. And for him to learn she's suddenly married to another guy, moreover to their new boss must have shocked him to the core. “I will be pleased if you join us for dinner later

His gaze darted to the old man he respected a lot and did not say anything. Meanwhile, the two scums halted from leaving the room and quickly turned around to face him. “You can’t stay here!” the scumbag of a manager exclaimed as if he’s the one who makes the rule. Gabriel's blue orbs darkened as he glared at Sabrina’s ex boyfriend. He was wondering what she saw in him when everything about him was trash. “You don’t have a say here, Anthon. Don’t forget that I was the one who brought you here! It means I can also kick you out if I want to!!” Tomas warned him furiously. However, the scumbag laughed which made Gabriel’s blood boil. He clenched his fists and was ready to punch that disgusting face any second. “Dream on! I have a position now so you can’t threaten me with that anymore,” Anthon

Her breathing became heavy as she threw Nathalia a sharp look. “Just admit it so we can go back to work,” Anthon chimed in, “Stop wasting our time” Anger was creeping under her skin. She cannot believe that they could be that low just to drag her under the mud. Shutting her eyes tightly, she expanded her lungs and released a heavy breath. “We should call the cops now and take this scheming woman to jail, Sir Gabriel. Sabrina stared at the black flash drive with brows knitted together. Puzzled, she then looked back at Nathalia who raised her eyebrows on her as if challenging her. “Let's play the video inside, shall we?” Nathalia mused. One of the staff in the legal team took the zipped lock pouch and was about to pull out the usb inside. However, the door suddenly opened which made everyone stop and turn to whoever just entered the room. “Sir Gabriel..” all of them simultaneously greeted. Sabrina froze. Although she already expected him to come, her body still stiffened upon hearing his name. “Everyone please take a seat,” Harold requested. All of them joined her while she deliberately lowered her head. She was not really nervous with the accusation they were throwing at her but rather she was more afraid of Gabriel. She was not guilty of stealing, but if the CEO mentioned her contract, she was sure going to face charges. “Sab, are you okay?” Surprised, Sabrina flinched but immed

Sabrina stood at the last step of the stairs frozen. Her mind went blank upon seeing Anthon along with the legal team. “Miss Bennette, we invite you to the company for some questions,” Attorney Lucio, the M Corp’s legal team director. “W-what did I do?” she stammered. Although she knew the reason as to why they were there, she was in shock. Twenty four hours had not yet passed but they're already there to claim the payment. “Come with us. We’ll tell you once we're in the M Corp,” the attorney responded. Sabrina shook her head, “No. I already talked to Mr Mondragon” Anthon’s eyes darkened, “What? Did you seduce him because you know you don't have a way out?” Hearing his angry voice again, she couldn't help but feel a pang in her chest. She was not used to it as most of the time, Anthon stayed silent and just ignored her whenever there's a misunderstanding. Her eyes casted down as she clutched the hem of her shirt. “Get dressed and go with us,” Anthon ordered. Sa

But her prayer was too late. The door stopped closing and quickly opened wildly again as Anthon swiftly slid himself in between. “Where do you think you’re going?” He scowled. Sabrina frowned at him. “I’ve already resigned,” she muttered. She didn't care anymore and just wanted to leave that place. Staying in the same place with him was suffocating. “You what?” Anthon’s jaw dropped as he looked at her in disbelief. “You resigned?” Nathalia gasped, “Why?” Her voice was full of concern and if she didn’t know her true color yet, she would’ve fallen for her acting again. “Didn't you say you see yourself working here until you're old? What changes?” Her eyes narrowed at her but kept her mouth shut. “Stop this nonsense. You think you can fool me? Have you forgotten that I am the manager now and I’m the one who's going to receive your resignation letter?” Anthon hissed. His face was already red from anger, “You didn’t submit one yet so go back to your table now!” he demanded.

Gabriel’s voice was hypnotizing her. It was as if he was awakening the demon in her that she didn't know was there. “What will you gain from it?’” she queried. “A beautiful wife,” he quickly answered. Her eyes squinted, not believing him. For someone like him who both has money and a face like a greek god, he can effortlessly have those supermodels and the most beautiful celebrity if he wanted to. So, as someone who was average in all categories, that was the most absurd thing she had heard from him. “You don’t believe me, do you?” He queried. She chewed her lips while averting her gaze. “Because you’re obviously lying,” she muttered. But instead of getting mad, Gabriel suddenly chuckled at her response, “I knew you are very smart,” he stated, which made her look back in his direction. “I’m not wrong for choosing you..” he continued. Her lips parted as her chest pounded hard. There was a voice in her head that was telling her to run, however, she couldn’t move as her feet got
