HarlynI looked around the room I was in for the hundredth time since Princess Leah left me. She told me she would be back so I couldn’t leave. One minute we were talking about my future duties as Luna of the Crimson Moon and the next minute she was out of the door because she remembered something that she had to tell BernardoI offered to go with her but she said it wouldn’t take long, it had been over an hour and she still wasn’t back. I couldn’t just leave. I still feel bad for not having dinner with them the night before. Even though she told me that it wasn't a problem, I still felt bad. I couldn’t even find out if she had spoken to Bernardo because he wasn’t in my head and I couldn’t get in his head.“Maybe she decided to call it a day.”I let out. I stared at my phone, bored out of my mind. Bernardo was meeting his uncle and he told me he might not come back early. I could have called Julia but I spoke to her earlier and she told me Damien was taking her to meet his parents.
Harlyn “You have nothing to worry about when it comes to Uncle Sean. I am one hundred percent sure he doesn’t have a hand in what Theo has been up to. Theo isn’t the kind of child that listens to his parents.” He sounded so sure. I should really drop the topic. Until the issues about Theo, I used to see him as a very upright man. In fact, back then, I used to wonder why such a man gave birth to a rebel like Theo. “You are right, I shouldn’t make things up in my head and accuse someone falsely. I do hope he won’t stand in your way when you try to put an end to Theo and his shenanigans.” I said and put the matter at rest in my mind. “I am sorry he won’t. That aside, I have something important to discuss with you.” Bernardo said and hugged me again. “Should we talk about it here or go to your room?” I asked. “My room? don’t you mean our room? we should go there. It’s more private there.” I nodded. I still make the mistake of calling it his room but I will get used to it
Harlyn “You keep your promise about the reward. I need a lot of pampering after. Tell your wolf to be kind to me or I will starve him of attention.” I warned him. Even as I said it, my wolf already disagreed. It would hurt her more if I pushed our mate’s wolf away. She has become so drawn to him that just being near Bernardo like this makes her all giggly and excited. Damn, only the moon goddess knows what she would do with him when she finally makes an appearance. “I promise and I will keep my promise.” “That’s good enough. So when will it happen?” I asked. “How about the day after tomorrow?” He asked. “Harry is leaving that day.” I told him. I spoke with my brother earlier and he explained to me that he has business to take care of. He promised that he would be gone for only a week and would come back with my sister in time for my first full moon as Luna. I didn’t tell him but I was worried about them. The full moon was when all shifters and non-human breeds showed
Harlyn “Definitely, I am sure of it. you will be a great Luna.” “You flatter me but I hope I can make you proud.” I said to him, meaning every word. He and Leah put so much faith in me. I don’t want to let them down. “I know you will.” He responded. “You are going to be very busy in the coming weeks. Will you still have time for poor old me?” Bernardo asked when we pulled apart, holding his chest in pretend pain. “Of course, why won't I have time for my favorite person?” I responded. “Oh, I am your favorite person. Lovie, take that.” He said and threw a fist in the air. I laughed because he was funny. Did he really think Hilan was my favorite person? I care about Hilan but not as much as I do for my mate. “You are my favorite person too.” He said and dropped a lingering kiss on my lips. He hugged me close again after our kiss. I liked being in his arms like this. “Do you want to do something with me?” I smiled and then frowned when he pulled out of the hug. “Wha
Bernardo“We have to leave now.” I told Harlyn, reaching for her hand. She stared at me in confusion, obviously wanting to know what was going on but she didn’t ask, just took my hand and followed me out of the place. When we got to my bike, I removed my jacket and helped her put it on, then placed the helmet on her head.“You have to hold tight. I am going a little faster.” I told her. She nodded without asking. I hated that I was taking her back to help again but she was the only option that I had that would work faster than the doctors.“Leah’s oldest child broke his spine. They are at the hospital right now and it is bad.” I explained. Even with the helmet on, I could see the shock and concern on her face.“Let’s go.” She let out. I nodded and got on the bike. She got in behind me and wrapped her arms around me. I started the Bike immediately and zoomed off at a speed that I hadn’t ridden before. I tried not to think about what Leah’s husband had said on the phone. It was bad
HarlynI walked behind Beta Ryan, Leah’s husband. My heart was beating fast against my chest. I believed I could do it but at the same time, I feared that I might not be able to save him. The fear of letting down both my mate and Leah, who was depending on me to stop her son’s pain fast, nearly crumbled me but I held my ground. When I saw the child surrounded by doctors, I almost lost control. The doctors around him turned when they heard us walk into the room.“She’s a healer.” Beta Ryan informed them. They looked at me like they couldn’t believe it, I mean, I couldn’t blame them. they trained for the job, have been doing it for years and here I am with no training trying to do their job.“She is our Luna.”Ryan added and that got them to finally move. I walked towards the bed and let out a gasp when I saw the state of the young child who should be around thirteen or fourteen. Even though they had wrapped up his wounds, I could still tell that they were severe.I wondered how and
Harlyn“I saw her face and know what she looks like.”I said, I didn’t get a clear picture but I know I will remember her when I see her.“Do you think you can identify her?” Bernardo asked. “Yes, I can. From what I saw, she had short bob hair and was around five foot three tall.” I said, trying to remember other features.“And she had a very visible mole on her face. This side.” I said pointing at my right cheek. I was sure of it because it was what I saw when I first looked at her.“Thank goddess. You will help identify her, right?” “Of course, that’s why I told you what I saw. She shouldn’t be anywhere near the princess and her family. We should find her and make her pay. That child nearly died.” I told him. He nodded and pulled me into a hug.“Thank you, Lyn. I don’t know what I would have done without you. I love you.” I froze at his words. I didn’t expect him to say that. Love? Did he really mean it or was he just saying it because he was grateful to me for helping with h
HarlynLeah finally looked our way again. I let out a sigh. She had cried so much in the past few hours that her eyes were now puffy and red. I hated that freak for what she did to Leah. Thank goddess her plans failed and the boy is still alive.“You saw her, didn’t you?” I nodded. “The lady with a short bob and a visible mole. She was the one that pushed him.” I told them. She let out a gasp after my revelation. “Why Leah?” Bernardo asked her. Leah started crying again and her husband pulled her to himself.“I let her into my house and she nearly killed my son. I am such a fool for letting her anywhere near my house.” She cried.“What do you mean? Who is she?”Bernardo asked. He seemed to be the only one who could ask all the questions because Beta Ryan was too focused on consoling his wife and I didn’t even know what to say.“She’s Edna Moore, Theo’s ex-girlfriend.” Leah said. At the mention of Theo, even the beta let go of her for a moment.“What?” Beta Ryan yelled. I was e
