“We have to leave now.”

I told Harlyn, reaching for her hand. She stared at me in confusion, obviously wanting to know what was going on but she didn’t ask, just took my hand and followed me out of the place.

When we got to my bike, I removed my jacket and helped her put it on, then placed the helmet on her head.

“You have to hold tight. I am going a little faster.”

I told her. She nodded without asking. I hated that I was taking her back to help again but she was the only option that I had that would work faster than the doctors.

“Leah’s oldest child broke his spine. They are at the hospital right now and it is bad.”

I explained. Even with the helmet on, I could see the shock and concern on her face.

“Let’s go.”

She let out. I nodded and got on the bike. She got in behind me and wrapped her arms around me. I started the Bike immediately and zoomed off at a speed that I hadn’t ridden before. I tried not to think about what Leah’s husband had said on the phone.
