Chapter 3

THE CRAZY EX

" What are you doing here?" I asked again in case he didn't hear me the first time.

How the hell did he even get into my house? Of course, we had dated for two years and he knew where the key to the house was. I have to talk to Bell, we have to change the locks, I didn't want him coming as he pleased, he wasn't my boyfriend and he didn't have the right to be here any longer.

" So you were with him last night?" He asked and that was when I remembered the shirt and slippers I had on.

" And how is that any of your business? In case you're forgetting, we broke up." I said as I tried to walk past him but he didn't let me, he held my hand.

I tried to pull away but he didn't let go.

" Let go of me,"

" Does he treat you better than I do? Does he do it better? Does he kiss you better?!" At his last question, he drew me to him and I became pressed to his chest as he tried to kiss me but I slapped him in the face and pushed him away.

" Have you lost your mind?! How dare you? Do you think it's fun to play with me? You told me you didn't want me anymore and then suddenly you're in my house asking me why I was out with another man, who the hell do you think you are?!" I screamed at his face in anger, why was he acting like a jealous boyfriend who saw his girlfriend cheating on him? We were over and he should know that.

" Anna." He whispered in a small voice like he expected me to fall for that, he should just imagine how I felt when he told me we should break up with the stupid excuse that I was too uptight.

What did he take me for?

" Anna, let's talk about us, we can work this out, we can fix it, I accept it's my fault but you can forgive me and I'll forgive the fact that you were with another man." I couldn't help but scoff.

" I don't want your forgiveness, I thought you were all there is, I should be thanking you for breaking up with me. Please leave my house."

" Come on babe."

" Don't fucking call me that, you lost that right and you're not getting it back."

" What the fuck is wrong with you?! Why are you acting like I killed someone, I said we should get back together, shouldn't you be happy, we can work it out, baby."

" What is going on here?" Oh, thank God.

We both turned to look at Bella, me in relief while Derick had a scorn on his face, they never really liked each other, they just got along for my sake. Now that my best friend didn't have to pretend to be nice around him for me, I was already feeling bad for him.

" What is this piece of garbage doing in our house?" I told you so.

" Watch your mouth slut." Okay hold up, nobody insults my best friend in my presence at our own house.

" Derick leave."

" Yeah leave, if possible leave the face of this earth." Bella seconded.

" Has she been the one telling you we're not good for each other? She's been doing that right?"

" Hey mister, are you crazy or something? You broke up with her and now that she's getting over you, you want her back. Is my friend a toy or something that you dispose of and go back to whenever you want? Please fucking leave her be." Bella looked like she was going to start fighting any time soon.

" Derick if you don't leave, I'll call the police."

" I'm about to call them now," Bella said searching her purse for her phone.

" Fuck!" Derick said before storming out of my house in anger like I cared.

" Are you okay baby?" Bella asked as she hugged me, rubbing her hand on my back.

" He didn't do anything crazy right?" I shook my head telling her I was okay.

" Now that that is settled, why the hell do you look like this? I have a feeling you just got back from wherever you went. So?"

" You wouldn't believe me "

" Well, try me," Bella said, already taking a seat on the couch as she tapped the side for me indicating that I joined her.

With a pout on my lip, I sat down and then narrated everything that happened last night, well the ones I remembered.

By the time I finished, Bella was just looking at me, she didn't blink, she was looking at me. I waved my hand a few times but she didn't say anything, she always does this whenever she is too shocked to speak.

Then suddenly she stood up and was all over the house jumping and shouting in glee like a crazed person.

" My best friend just had a one-night stand! Can you believe that? How was he? Was he handsome? He had a mansion which means he is rich, but tell me, why did you run away?"

At that, she quickly came to settle back on the couch wanting more story.

" I would die of embarrassment if he woke up and found me there, you know I haven't been with another man aside Derick," I said with a sigh, Cole, the man who just changed my life. I knew he wouldn't be leaving my mind anytime soon, but it was just a one-night stand, he would definitely forget about me. That was what this all was about right?

" Can we stop talking about last night? I'm hungry, we should get something to eat. By the way, how was work?" I asked as I stood up and headed to the kitchen, as I opened the fridge we didn't have many things which meant we needed to go grocery shopping.

" We're out of groceries," I shouted from the kitchen.

" We'll go later, I need sleep now and I know you do too, you know, after being busy all night." I knew she was teasing me.

" Whatever."

I took the cereal that we still had on the shelf and poured some into the bowl with milk, I made for myself and Bella.

When we were both done we took our shower as we went on a sleeping marathon.

I woke up earlier than Bella and surprisingly it was because I had a dream about Cole, just one night and he was becoming the man of my dreams.

I got up from the bed not wanting to wake Bella up. She must have been so tired from working all night. I, on the other hand, was busy with another type of work. I couldn't help but bite my lip at the thought.

Damn he was so good, but I know I won't see him again.

" I can't decide on which to pick, the chocolate or vanilla?" I asked Bella as we shopped.

" Then get the two, I know you were just looking for someone to tell you that."

" Oh, I'm innocent." My best friend knew me well.

When we were done with grocery shopping, we went to shop for new clothes. I was starting a new job as a secretary and I needed new clothes. I was working as an assistant in a restaurant but my boss was getting on my nerves so I had to quit.

It's a good thing I found this job, I was so happy when I got the job.

My best friend helped me pick out some of the outfits and they all looked nice.

I woke up Monday morning as early as I could, I couldn't be late on the first day of work. I had a shower and then got dressed in a black short skirt and a light pink shirt, then I paired it with black heels. I had my hair tied up in a neat bun.

I made breakfast for myself and Bella then I left her a note before leaving the house.

I greeted the security as I showed my ID card before going in because I was new.

" Anna Fredrick," I said to the receptionist, I didn't know where the boss's office was.

" Miss Fredrick." Someone called me and I turned to see one of the ladies that was on my interview panel, wow she recognized me.

" Follow me please, Mr Leonard is already in his office, let me introduce you to him."

" Okay, thank you," I said as I followed her, we went into the elevator and went up to the Twenty-fifth floor, it was a long ride up.

When we finally got to the floor, she went inside first, and then after some minutes she came out and told me to go in.

I smiled at her and still with the smile on my face I opened the door and got in.

My boss was standing, looking out the window with his back to me.

" Good morning sir." I greeted, but he didn't respond, and then when he finally turned…

My smile dropped.
