As we drove away from the apartment, these questions swirled in my mind, making it hard to focus on the present moment. Ethan's concerned gaze and gentle touch only added to the turmoil inside me.

Ethan noticed my inner turmoil and reached out to put a comforting hand on my knee. "Hey, what's wrong?" he asked, his voice soft with concern.
