Yelena gave Kate an unreadable look before shrugging uninterestedly. "So what brings you here?" Kate stared at her for about a minute in silence, as if waiting for something. She cocked an eyebrow. "Seriously? Do you have to be that rigid?" Kate maintained her silence until Yelena gave in. "Fine," she groaned. "Follow me." She led us across the white expansive space which was devoid of anything else except the reception desk. Walking across the emptiness of the hall made the desk itself seem ominous. Yelena was dressed in a white shirt which was see-through and a black tight skirt which barely covered her ass which bounced wildly as she walked. She completed her dressing with lace stockings and finally a pair of black heels. She was an extremely erotic sight. And I couldn't help but ogle at the bouncing behind in front of me. "Be careful what you wish for," Kate warned as we walked side by side. "Huh? I didn't wish for anything," I replied with a confused expression. She gestured towards the jiggling ass in front of us. "That ass is as poisonous as you can imagine. One taste of it and you might have to pay with your life." I cocked an eyebrow at that. "And who's gonna kill me? You or her?" She shrugged in response. "I don't care what you do with your free time as long as it doesn't affect your duties to me. But that ass would cost you if you were ever to get involved with it." We soon got to the office whose door was hardly noticeable because it blended quite well with the white bleak walls. Yelena placed her hand in the door and it slowly slid to the side, ushering us in. She walked in and stopped, looked around her office for a little while and sighed. "This place is boring." "The receptionist desk isn't any fun either," Kate retorted. "You are the only one there." "Exactly," she replied as she glared at Kate with a pout. "I have the time to enjoy something I love by myself without any distractions. Until your annoying appearance, that is." 'What the hell is wrong with that woman? A receptionist isn't one unless they have people to actually guide.' Her glare then turned to me. "You definitely thought that I was crazy, right?" I froze at the accuracy of her words. "You thought so, didn't you?" she probed. "Stop hassling my bodyguard," Kate sighed. "You know that you are crazy." She turned to Kate, and her pout immediately dissipated into an eeriely beautiful smile. "My dear, Kate." The next second, she wrapped her hands around Kate's next and locked her lips with hers. Kate seemed dazed at the suddenness of her actions but soon regained her senses and pushed her away. "Oh, come on, Yelena. I've told you to stop doing this. I don't swing that way." "You don't have to," she winked. "I can handle you without you having to do anything. I just need your permission." "And I won't give it you," Kate retorted. I just stood there with a somewhat puzzled expression, wondering if I should be witnessing this. Yelena's hands soon fixated on me. She did a once-over of me and smiled seductively. "My type of man." She unbuttoned the top buttons of her shirt which revealed her cleavage and the fact that she wasn't wearing any bra. She then winked at me. "Wanna see more?" "We have a job to do, Yelena," Kate interrupted. "And I came here for a reason." "Of course, you did," she rolled her eyes. "You are no fun." She blew me a kiss and unbuttoned the third button before turning around and walking to her seat behind the desk Kate gestured for me to seat on one of the seats on the opposite side as she took one. "So," Yelena asked with a bored expression. "What brings you here, White Lie?" "I want to use one of my three favours," Kate replied calmly. Yelena cocked an eyebrow. "Are you sure?" Kate shrugged. "You don't need to be asking me that when you know the enemy we are about to face." She sighed. "What do you need?" Kate stared at her calmly as she stated her wish. "I want you to get me Filer." She cocked an eyebrow. "That man is the most elusive individual in the whole of Grimmsville. There's literally no way to get a hold of him. You're not the first person who has asked for him." "I know that," Kate replied. "This isn't the first time I've asked for him either." "And why haven't you found him?" Kate glared at her. "Are you gonna help me or not?" She sighed. "Even if I were to be capable of getting him to you and I'm not saying I am, you know he wouldn't help you. He hates your guts and probably hates your existence even more." I gave them both a curious look. I've heard of the name Filer during my time in the force and if I'm not mistaken, he is presently one of the most wanted criminals in the city. He's a sniper and a masterfully skilled one at that. He is responsible for at least two or three thousand assasinations over the span of ten years. In addition to that, his range is unknown and he has never been found within ten to thirty meters around his intended targets. Even worse, the man is deviously cunning, making him extremely slippery and basically impossible to catch. I personally have been one of his many playthings in the police force. He gave us clues and then disappears from the face of the Earth, leaving a bloodied nail filer in whatever location he allowed himself to be last seen. Everytime, a female is discovered to have been sexually assaulted and murdered in brutal fashion, earning him the name, Filer. 'What does he have to do with Kate though? Enough to hate her." "Can you get him or not?" Kate asked, a little agitated. A foreign look of her as I've never seen her openly express any emotion except confidence and glee. She must be really comfortable around Yelena. Yelena stared at her for a few minutes and then laid back on her seat. "One favour isn't enough. You'll need to do more than that. Bear in mind that if you exhaust your favours then you have to complete a task specified by us to gain your original three favours. Remember, I'm your friend but I don't control the board. They won't be lenient." Kate stared at the desk with a bit of worry in her eyes. Again, a foreign emotion. "Will two favours do?" Yelena stared at her with pity in her eyes. "I can get you a different sniper, one as good as Filer. It doesn't have to be him." "Will two favours be enough?" Kate insisted. Yelena let out a defeated sigh. "I've never been a fan of your hardheaded stubbornness. I'd rather be talking with Peggy right now but I guess the poor girl is a lot more stressed that you are right now." Kate finally looked up from the desk. "So? What do you say?" Yelena shrugged. "It isn't enough. Filer is a rabid dog and you need to hire his tamer along with him which costs two credits already. Filer's gun, Snipey; I know the name is stupid but the owner isn't exactly same either so bear with me. His gun is treated as an entity of its own by Filer. That means you would need a favour to get him to answer your call." "I see....." Kate trailed. But Yelena smiled. "Don't worry your pretty face, Kate. I'll take of it. Two will be enough." She then winked at her. "I accept payment in kind. I can drug you while I do it too. You won't feel a thing."Allison's POV"Happy birthday to you!" The crowd chorused, waving their flashlights up in the air. It was the most beautiful thing I had seen. It also left a bitter taste in my mouth. My sister stood right in the middle of the ballroom, the center of attraction. She had a naive little smile on her face as everyone sent hugs, kisses, and gifts her way. "It's your day, Arya!" Mom squealed behind her. "My little girl is now grown up." "I could never have asked for a more perfect daughter." Dad added, pulling Arya for a hug. Another twinge of pain hit my chest and I pulled at my dress trying to stop the tears that welled up my eyes. I was not weak. I was not going to dissolve into tears in a room filled with werewolves who would love nothing else. They all wanted to see me crack. "Happy birthday, Arya," I murmured, holding up my gift. The ballroom went dead quiet. My parents whipped around, their eyes widening as if they just remembered that I existed too. "Oh, you're stil
Allison's POV "You don't have a say in this, Allison." Dad said stiffly. "If I have to drag you down there myself, I will." I stared at my parents in disbelief. I was worthless in their eyes, wasn't I? Only the desperate women took part in the Wolf King's bride selection. Sure he was said to be good-looking and all but he was known for his cruelty and capricious nature. He throws a bride selection ceremony every year, and ends up, not choosing brides but with a whole lot of women claiming he had slept with them. He was a promiscuous bastard and asking me to participate in that selection was more like sentencing me to death. My father knew this. He would never admit it, but I was every bit as arrogant and proud as he was. He wanted to break me. He couldn't be more wrong. "Fine!" I fumed and walked out the door. The crowd that had been eavesdropping dispersed the minute I threw the door open. I ignored them, running to my room. I had to get out of here. The next morning, I
Daniel's POVRoses. The smell of roses lingered faintly in the air. I sniffed trying to hold on to the scent that my wolf purring in delight. No, he snarled. She's gone. My eyes snapped open at those words. They met with the ceiling and when I glanced to the side, my mate was gone. I sat up, glancing at the bathroom door. She wasn't in there. I couldn't hear the sound of water running. And her scent would be much stronger than this if she were here. She wasn't. I searched around, for anything, anything at all that would assure me that she was still around. "No!" I bellowed, lunging to my feet. I must have been knocked out hard since I hadn't noticed her leaving. She was insatiable. Fuck, she was my mate. Perfect in every way. Hair that felt thick and soft against my fingers. Those beautiful eyes. Dark. Black as night. When she looked up at me in the bar, I could not look away even if I tried. And I didn't bother trying. She was gorgeous, I didn't want to take my eye
ALLISON'S POVMy car screeched to a halt as I almost hit a man riding across the road on a bike."Hey! Watch where you're going, bitch!" the man yelled as he rode away quickly."It was a green light!" I yelled back as I drove away as fast as I could, not having the time to retort to his stupidity. It was my first day at work and I was already 5 minutes late, and I still had a five-minute drive before I gets there."Today is the worst!" I hissed and banged on my steering wheel as I slowly stepped on my brakes. There was traffic ahead of me and it doesn't seem to be moving quickly. My phone rang as I cursed and honked, startling me and causing my heart to race a thousand miles per second as I felt my worst fear coming true.I reluctantly checked the caller ID and breathed a sigh of relief as it read 'Jules', my best friend."Hey, girl! Where are you?!" Jules yelled into the phone, her voice almost deafening me. "You're almost ten minutes late!""I know," I replied apprehensively. "I'm s
ALLISON'S POVI let out a groan as I allowed myself to melt into my couch. My first day at work had been nothing short of nerve-wracking. It wasn't exactly tedious but my boss turned out to be quite a demanding bastard. Jules walked in from the kitchen behind me and patted my shoulders. "It's difficult to work for your new boss, isn't it?" She chuckled. "You don't even know the beginning of it," I sighed. "He didn't even treat me like it was my first day. I had to work like I had been his secretary for at least a year. The bastard even had the guts to get mad at me when I missed a meeting that wasn't in the schedule given to me.""Well, welcome to the Phantom Corporation," she laughed as she walked over to sit beside me on the couch. "He expects us to be perfect at our jobs and barely spares us a small margin for error. I have been really close to getting fired twice already.""It's even more annoying to know that I can't rest even now," I sighed as I sat up on the couch. "I still
MERLIN'One hundred million,' I thought as I strolled to my assigned room once the auction was concluded. 'Not a bad cost for such a priceless commodity."Perplexed stares trailed me as I traversed the busy hallway. Everyone else are retreating to their rooms as well. Our purchases are to be delivered to our rooms for inspection and establishing a contract so all I had to do now was wait.I took off my knee-length jacket and placed it along my hat on the stand as I stretched and flexed my muscles. I took off my clothes and freshened up quickly before it was time for the delivery, desiring to be ready by the time it was made.***Delivery came soon after and it was everything that I expected. She had been cleaned up and dressed up to make her as presentable as a toy could be.The most interesting feature about her though, was her eyes. They held intense defiance and a strong spirit.Exactly what I wanted. We were left alone once she was chained to the bed and now it was time for me to
MERLIN"Can we talk, Arya?!" I yelled as I followed after her. "Stop being like this!""Stop following me!" She retorted as she hurried away.I couldn't help but sigh at her behaviour. Arya has been like this since Alpha Daniel's visit and his so-called warning has been the most annoying part of our lives. She wouldn't tell me, but she keeps acting like she's preparing for something big. Something that might hurt us all. Now, she's asking to leave the pack in search of Allison herself. A request I would never approve.I caught up to her as she rounded a corner and grabbed her hand."What on earth is wrong with you, Arya?" I sighed. "Why do you keep doing this?""I'm doing nothing," she retorted. "You won't let me do anything.""I won't let you put yourself in danger just because you're searching for Allison.""Then let me go!" She yelled as she yanked her hand away from mine. "Why do you keep acting like I can't take care of myself?""I didn't say so," I replied. "I'm asking you to
GEORGEDeep in the woods, somewhere on the outskirts of New York City, a large expanse of land was fenced off with a huge Chinese-themed palace on it. It was bordered by thick jungle vegetation, with tall trees covering it completely from human view. The compound covered over fifty thousand square feet of land. The Chinese palace stood in the middle of the compound, easily occupying about twenty thousand square feet. It had pillars and a door made of pure gold and was about three stories tall. It was such a beautiful building that anyone would think royalty actually lived there. There were six other smaller Chinese structures like houses built in closer proximity to the fence than the palace, and in one of these houses was Reynolds Riggs. I was seated cross-legged on an armchair with a cigar in hand, a half-filled bottle of vodka and an empty glass at his side, and a grave in front of him.The inscription on top of it read; Eleanor Grail."This is perfect, isn't it?" I asked with an
