Reason to rejoice

In no time, Mrs Meiying was rushed to their car, and her husband Mr Chin-Cheng quickly drove straight to the hospital. As soon as they arrived there, she was taken to the intensive care unit for proper examination... While the doctor came asking Mr Chin-Cheng to know what really happened to her to put her in such a critical medical state. He told him that they too can not even explain what actually happened to her, and he narrated the little he witnessed.

After a while, some test were conducted on Mrs Meiying, and the results were brought to the doctor's office by the nurse, from the scientists' laboratory. She said as she was invited into the doctor's office..

"Please excuse me doctor, here are the results of the tests you asked us to coduct on Mrs Meiying."

"Alright nurse.. thank you so much!"

The doctor collected the test results, and opened them one after the other right before Mr Chin-Cheng. While he was reading the results, he began to shake his head in pity, turning it to the left side, and then to the right side, with his facial expressions looking so scary. Mr Chin-Cheng got worried, but was patient enough to wait for what the doctor was going to tell him concerning the results. 

The doctor paused for a moment, and looked at Mr Chin-Cheng, then bowed his head again, looking at the results, and he shook his head. At that time, Mr Chin-Cheng became so worried that he said in his thoughts..

"Could the issue be that serious that the doctor is finding it so difficult to tell me what it is..?"

He could no longer ignore the silence from the doctor as he thought something bad had happened to his wife! He asked him in fear..

"Doctor is my wife okay..? Please tell me!"

"Please calm down Mr Chin-Cheng... I will tell you everything you need to know about your wife, okay!"

At once.. he got up from his chair and shouted..

"Doctor! Please tell me right now.... what happened to my wife....? I demand to know this very minute!"

The doctor realized that Mr Chin-Cheng was running out of patience, and if he did not do anything at that moment, he would tumble the entire place upside down, and call for the attention of people around, thereby creating a scene and interrupting the peace of the hospital environment.

So he didn't waste any more time, he got up from his own chair, and said to Mr Chin-Cheng..

"Sir please calm down okay.. well.. I was just so surprised at how a woman who has been in a very strong family planning procedure as the one we gave to your wife, after you two had your daughter, and decided not to give birth to another child again, would become pregnant again after so many years... It's so shocking!"

At first, Mr Chin-Cheng was so surprised, and thought the doctor was joking.. because of how the doctor was acting when he collected the test results from the nurse and began to read. And in so much seriousness... He said in anger to the doctor!

"Doctor please.... If this is a joke, kindly stop it because I am not here to crack jokes with you, nor with anyone else!"

"Me too... I am just so surprised this could happen... Of which I know very well, and as a professional doctor for so many years now... nothing like this has ever happened. That is the reason for my being so surprised right now!"

Mr Chin-Cheng saw the seriousness in the face of the doctor as he was talking to him, of which no one in the medical field, and especially as a professional doctor like him, would be that playful so as to joke with serious issues as that! So he said to himself...

"I do not think this doctor is joking..  he must be very serious right now."

And as he was thinking aloud, the doctor said to him after looking at his expressions.. he said..

"Please Mr Chin-Cheng, you just have to accept the fact that your wife is carrying another baby of yours. I do not know what may have caused it, but I think she must have done something that she was advised against. But all the same, we just have to accept the fact that she.. is.. pregnant!"

"It's okay doctor.. I understand your point. I and my wife may not really be happy to receive this kind of information, because we wanted just one child, and that is my daughter, Aaliyah.. But who am I..? And moreso... our daughter would be so so happy to hear this because she has always been crying most of the times that she needs a sibling, and even more.. Well... I would not blame her that much thought, because I see how she feels most times she's all alone by herself."

"That is great then! So you all have to start preparing for the arrival of your new little one."

"Sure doctor! Thank you so much!"

"You are welcome sir..."

Though Mr Chin-Cheng wasn't happy to receive suck news from the doctor, but he was also happy for his daughter. So he asked the doctor if they could go back home that same night, and he said 'yes' to him. Saying that it was just a normal pregnancy signs and symptoms his wife was having. And a few minutes later, after the doctor had given the test results and some drugs prescription to him to help get his wife back to shape, he left his office to meet his daughter Aaliyah, and his sister in-law, Frida.

Just right after Mr Chin-Cheng came out of the doctor's office, looking so downcast, and frustrated, Aunt Frida and Aaliyah saw him and ran to meet up with him to know the latest development. 

"Dad.. dad... you are not looking bright at all.. Please what did the doctor say about mom's condition?" Aaliyah asked.. touching and holding her father's hands.

"Sir please tell us!" Frida asked

"Well... Nothing that serious though.." he replied. 

He was still finding it difficult to say something to them, because he didn't know how to put it before them, knowing fully well that it was exactly what they laughed about before his wife was brought to the hospital. 

After so much persuasion from Aaliyah and Frida, he was able to feel a little bit relaxed, and he told them that his wife had conceived again. At once, Aaliyah jumped up and began to sing just like she had never sang before. Her dad and Aunt Frida immediately kept their cool and began to watch her as she was displaying.. They both looked at each other and shook their heads in pity for they know how long she had been crying and pleading with her parents to give her siblings, even if it's just one!

As Mr Chin-Cheng and Aunt Frida were watching Aaliyah in pity, tears started rolling down from Mr Chin-Cheng's eyes. And right there in his thoughts he began to say...

"Ohhh... My pretty daughter... I just wonder how terrible you have been feeling all these years while you were growing up without any siblings, nor sibling.. Now I truly understand your reason for always feeling that bad like your life was nothing without them. It is indeed truly very devastating...!"
