Aurora went back to her office and slumped on the chair as another set of tears trickled down her eyes. After driving him home, Aurora led him into the house and he slumped on the sofa immediately. His eyes were closed but he was wide awake. Malcolm was waiting for her to say she was leaving but after two minutes and he didn’t hear anything, he immediately opened his eyes and sat up. There she was, also on a sofa and she looked very tired.From where he was seated, Malcolm could see the tiredness and confusion on her face and his heart softened. Aurora was so pure and innocent and he felt like he was the one who tainted her innocence.He was the one who came into her life and brought all his problems with him, he was the one who made her once quiet life filled with noise. After aurora was done with her rounds she went over to her office but was suprised to see Malcolm on her chair. “What are you doing here?” She asked him immediately, “what if someone sees you?”“I told Danny not to come in until I am done with my baby” a sly smile was playing across his lips as he talked.“I didn’t know you could be so shameless Malcolm, I had high expectations of you” aurora teased while she sat on the chair opposite him,It was an office she shared with Danny and the latter may come in anytime, she didn’t want to he found in a compromising position.“You purposely wanted to anger Angeline right?”She smiled and leaned forward on her chair,“I just realized she loves attention and I will give it to her”“Hmmm” Malcolm nodded as he stood up from where he was sitting and walked over the table,“You look really pretty today wifey”“Wifey?” She wasn’t suprised but blushed, he hadn’t even proposed to her and was already calling her his wife.“Yes, my wife” Malcolm answer

Aurora jolted out of bed when someone splashed a few drops of water on her….Ryan.“Happy birthday sis” he beamed excitedly as he hugged her.“Thank you,” Aurora answered, beaming with smiles. Today was nothing special for her though but since her brother was wishing her well then she must accept it.“I made your favorite and I kept your present on the dining table”“Awwwnn, thanks so much. I will freshen up and come out”“Okay” Ryan kissed her on the forehead and left the room.Aurora sighed, none of her family members even called to wish her a happy birthday. Not like they ever did it but she kind of expected it every year but it was always the same.Just as she wanted to climb out of bed, her phone rang and it was a video call from Malcolm.Smiling, she pressed the receive button and smiled at him.“Good morning”“Good morning princess” Malcolm looked like he just finished his workout and beads were dripping down his body, she couldn’t lie he looked hot, “happy birthday” added an

“Happy birthday baby” Malcolm said and drew her to an embrace, he could feel her shaking slightly. The surprise was a bit overwhelming for her.“Relax baby” he whispered to her, “I am here okay?”“Why did you do this?”she whispered back to him but he just kissed her on her forehead before gesturing for her to sit on the gold plated chair on the stage.After she sat down, Malcolm turned to the microphone again.“Ladies and gentlemen, you see this woman right here?” He pointed at her with a huge grin on his face, “she came into my life when I didn’t expect and I treated her like trash but she never left my side and my son’s side no matter what. Even on my son’s deathbed, he made her promise to take care of me and I haven’t be more grateful for making her my woman”Another round of applause went up from the crowd again which made aura to tear up.Not only did he organize a surprise birthday party for her but he was also praising her in front of everyone. The whole venue was already deserted but Malcolm was still having a little chat with some of his business associates while holding onto his fiancée’s hand. The joy was evident on both faces and their joy knew no bounds.After the last three persons left, a swarm of reporters immediately surrounded them, all in a hope of catching a glimpse of the love between the couple.“How do you feel now that you are engaged sir” one of them asked.“Is this marriage going to last forever? Your first wife divorced you” another asked.“How long have you known each other?”“Do you think your first wife is happy with this relationship?”These were some of the questions being asked but Malcolm remained silent, he was not mad at the questions rather he was bracing himself. Aurora was a bit nervous, she never had to face so many crowds before but seeing how Malcolm held onto her hands tightly, she felt a sense of comfort and pride in him. He was showing her that the two of them were going to be together
AURORA CHAPTER FORTY FIVE.
The moment the door opened, Aurora gasped in surprise, this man decorated the whole house and her pictures were everywhere. She thought the surprise was over?“More suprises?” She asked, smiling widely, she couldn’t get enough of him even if she tried.“This is just in preparation for dinner with you, me and Liam. When he was alive, he always told me he wanted to celebrate your birthday like this and now that I have the opportunity, I thought of doing it”Her eyes teared up, even if Liam was no longer alive she always felt his presence. It was safe to say that their bond was eternal.“Do you like it?” Malcolm asked when he saw how emotional she got.“Of course I love it” Aurora answered in enthusiasm and Malcolm smiled.
