Chapter Twenty-Four

2024-10-29 19:42:56It'd been one hell of a week for me and probably, my cousins too. Aunty had been working from home for the past week so we all had to be home at the right time.
It was harder on Ruby than Rose and I, I got to see my boyfriend at school everyday though, and I don't think I'll ever get tired of that. Though we still rode home together, I didn't dare go anywhere else but straight home.
We were almost done with exams, I had just a few papers left. I was heading to the kitchen while scrolling throughmy phone.
Aunty had confiscated our phones after the whole Ruby family meeting disaster and since it was Friday, she decided to let us have them and returned by Sunday afternoon.
This was put in place "so as to foster more studying and less drama and distractions" in the house. I wasn't even in the least affected unlike my cousins, I still had my old phone much to the oblivion of everyone.

It'd been two days and Junior was still acting the same to everyone except his dad. Aunty was getting worried by the day, I felt Junior drifting away slowly.I made it a mission to find out what was wrong. I was presently in his room trying to get him to talk."Junior I've been watching you for the past two days, something is wrong and I'm sure of it, please talk to me. It's Atti." I assured. I was glad I spoke to Junior yesterday and to say we had fun was an understatement. Junior was feeling better and it gladdened my heart. The past few days had been hell and I couldn't wait to go back to school, my heart still ached and I might just have to leave with it that way.I shed the last tear I had to spare on this issue, I was done crying.
