Chapter Twenty-Nine

2024-10-29 19:42:56It's been one day, twenty one hours, twenty eight painful minutes since Calista arrived and she's made me want to pull her hair in annoyance.
She's been up to silly tricks, and I guess I was beginning to gain a new perspective to things; Mama's favourite was Ruby but Calista's favourite was Rose. It was weird.
I stepped under the shower as I let the cool water run through my hair, to my neck before cascading down my back, I let out a sigh in relief.
What was that sound?
I took a few calculated steps towards the bathroom window, standing on my tiptoes, JB's frame came into view as I saw him fumbling with a plastic chair, trying to put it to a balance.
"Are you lost?" I yelled making him stagger, lose his balance and fall to the floor. He was shocked and the look on his face was enough proof that he knew he was caught.
