There were fewer people in the lobby and I just quietly made my way out when I heard my name being called.
I looked back to see Sarah running towards me.
"What are you doing here? Our classes ended long back." She asked out of breath.
"Yeah, something happened. Why are you still here?"
"Hades has his classes, so I wait for him." She shrugged. I nodded.
"I really want you to meet him. Even my other friends. Hannah, Derrick, and Noah." She let out excitedly. And I smiled at her excitement.
"Sure, yes."
"Yes, Derrick and Hannah are Dating." She informed and I nodded as we slowly walked to the side.
"Right and what about Noah?" I inquired randomly.
"Well. It's complicated. You must have heard the rumors, right?" She looked at me pointedly.
I felt like a bad friend as I didn't meet her eyes.
"Yeah, I have heard. But you know I never judge someone." I cleared out.
"Yes, I know." She agreed.
"So it's just, last year shit happened and now Noah is complicated. He doesn't talk. His language is anger. His anger issues create problems. And he can't seem to work on controlling his shit. We are really worried for him." She said solemnly and I patted her hand in solace.
"Don't worry. Everything will get better."
"Yeah, we hope too." She murmured. And I realized she deeply cared for whoever Noah was. He should be thankful for friends like these.
"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow. I should probably head home. It's getting late." I said as I hugged her and walked out of the school. The school was near our house which was easier for me to walk.
Reaching home, I was met with silence, and noises from the Tv could be easily heard.
I walked inside to see Brenna sitting on the sofa in the living room and beside her sat Crystal, her eyes glued to the cartoon that was on air.
"Hello," I said out aloud and both of them looked up at me with a smile.
"Ara! you're back!" She climbed down the sofa and rushed over to me.
I picked her up and she blessed me with her kisses on the face. I giggled and kissed her back.
"Aw someone was excited to see me," I said and she nodded enthusiastically.
I put her down and went to the kitchen to fetch something to drink. We had some orange juice and I poured it into a glass before going to sit with them and watch cartoons.
Brenna was our next-door neighbor. She was a polite lady in her early forties and often babysat Crystal, my niece on weekdays as on weekends I was home I used to take her responsibility.
Both Amar, my brother, and Gisele my sister-in-law worked at good multinational companies and earned enough to have a comfortable life. We had all the necessities and some luxuries as well. However, I never wanted to be a burden to them.
I had a younger brother who was 15 and lived away as he was in boarding school. The fee was made affordable for us as my mother was friends with the founder of the school. Aiden was the smartest among us and had a high IQ level. That is why my mother thought to get him a good education. Whereas I always loved the system of high school.
Aiden and I were never close. He was a closed-off child. But I and Amar were close after our mother's death. Amar was devastated but Gisele and his daughter helped him through and he also knew he had to be strong for us.
Crystal slept in my lap so I offered to carry her to her room and Brenna left now that I was home. She was 2 and heavy for a child her age but we loved her so much. We all spoiled her rotten. And even Aiden loved her.
Kissing her on her forehead I put her on the bed and placed cushions all over to make a boundary in case she turned in her sleep.
Walking to my room, I took a quick shower before getting into bed. There was no homework so I had the whole day to myself. However, I was wide awake. I couldn't take that power nap as much as I wanted.
Everything rushed to my mind just as I closed my eyes to sleep. His beautiful blue eyes, that could suck your soul, and those hot lips that I just wanted on mine. Ugh, Arabella. Get your head out of the gutter.
But truth be told, he was smoldering hot. His face cut was that of a Greek God and his physique was that of a hunk. A handsome hunk.
For a moment I thought I was in love with him. But the irony, I didn't even know his name. Wow, Arabella! Exactly why your love life equals zero.
The sun had gone down and the air was a little chilly now. I woke up to some noises coming from downstairs.I washed my face and tapped my face to reduce the puffiness as I made my way down.Giselle was in the kitchen feeding potato puree to Crystal sitting in the high chair and making a mess. I kissed her on the cheek and made my presence known."Good evening Giselle." I greeted. She looked tired as she just gave me a small smile."Where is Amar?" I asked when I didn't find him. They both would be home by this time. So it was rare for him to not be seen around."He's out in the garage." She replied. I nodded as I headed to the opened door of the Garage. I could see Amar bent over the bonnet of his car fixing something. "What's up, brother?" I asked perched on the stool nearby."Hey sis. Just fixing the engine." He said not looking up at me.The silence prevailed before he raised his head and looked at me with a frown. "Is everything alright?" He asked."Yeah" I shrugged."You sure?
"Bella come down and have your breakfast!" I heard Gisele shouting for me from downstairs and I sighed trying not to mess up my french braid."Coming," I yelled back before concentrating back on the task.Just as I got done with braiding my hair, I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled. I looked pretty if I dared say. Blowing a kiss I winked at myself and left my room picking up my bag on the way.Trudging downstairs, I walked in on my brother and Sister in law kissing their faces off. I rolled my eyes before picking up the sandwiches she prepared and yelling a bye, came out to the front porch where I saw students walking to the school and I followed them. It's been three months since we shifted to this state and truth be told I found this more boring than my previous hometown. "What the fuck?" Way to go, Arabella. This day couldn't go any worse. First that Maverick now this guy.I almost had my heart in my throat as I looked at the mess I made. The guy's whole white shirt was ruined and there was pin-drop silence in the cafeteria."What is wro-""I-I am so so sorry." I let out very difficultly trying to process everything. Shit. What a clumsy arse I was!I looked up and made eye contact with him. And man was this guy gorgeous. He had the purest of skins and the most beautiful blue eyes. This man was a God walking. However, he looked like he would eat me alive right that moment. I saw the changes of emotions in his eyes and was left mesmerized.Snapping out of my reverie I looked down at his t-shirt again and apologized profusely."I'll wash your shirt for you I promise. I wasn't looking. Please forgive me." I said in a small voice."Okay," he stated."Huh?" I looked up at him confused."Okay, you can wash my shirt. You have thirty minutes." He exclaimed and
