"I gave her a sedative to help her sleep you can come back after a few hours."Adriana nodded and slowly went out of the room she has to find out why Diana had wanted her to stay here she cannot afford to remain her any longer then she already has.Time was running out she has to find a place,a better income and a man who will agree to play her long term boyfriend there was only three weeks left and at this rate luck wasn't in her favour,she sighed deeply and thoughts of Diana's godson entered her mind.The man is formidable not to mention hot and sexy as sin,handsome wasn't a word to describe his insanely good-looking feautures.From his tall frame,broad chest and massive shoulders,strong forearms big hands with beautiful long fingers,the man was strongly build.

A narrow waist which she's sure underneath all those clothing lay a six pack or eight,then down to his strong muscular thighs and legs.She's never met a man that was so well build as he she can only dream of ever having a man like that,Diana had said he was spanish that explains his dark olive skin tone,and black hair which was long at dinner the other night Adriana had seen he had fasten it up with a rubber band,it was neatly cut and trimmed on the side it went along with his beard which was also short and neatly trimmed,brown eyes with long lashes and beautiful eyebrows a straight nose high cheek bones and thin lips that looks like they know how to kiss and pleasure a woman.

She blushed at the thought what was she thinking standing here and fantasize over a man that was way out of her league,men like him has multiple lovers the morning paper this morning had confirmed that and it's also a good thing he'll never give her a second look.She went to the kitchen to prepare Amelia's afternoon snack Mr Max Torrés really is eye candy and would be the perfect candidate if he had to audition to be her part time partner.

"Where did that thought come from Adriana."She whispered to herself.

"Is it a habit for you to talk all by yourself."She heard his deep strong male voice say,her heart jumped and raced she met his dark piercing gaze.It seems he was staring straight into her soul this was one man who was a mystery to her.

"Mr Torrés I didn't see you there,can I get you anything I'm preparing something for Amelia."

Such a genuine innocent smile Max thought she can charm and get any man with that smile of hers and to think he has to marry her,does she know he doesn't think so Diana had told him she hasn't broken the news to her yet.He wonders what her reaction will be when she learns the truth,Sam was right she is beautiful with her deep dark brown hair,ocean blue eyes tiny nose,full pink sensual mouth that looks kissable and her fair skin like Diana's before she had gotten sick,she does have uncle Daniel's hair and eyes her skin tone though she got it from her grandmother.

She his wife,the idea and thought alone seemed surreal she was five and half feet tall but he still towered over her with his six feet two,she's plain and ordinary definitely not his type for a twenty-five year old she looked young and was probably a virgin too the thought horrified him,he cannot marry her come what may."No thank you Miss Woods I don't want to trouble you I'm sure you have enough on your plate at the moment."

"It would be no trouble at all."She said.

"Maybe another time I need to get going enjoy your day Miss Woods."He was gone before she could even blink,the man clearly hated her guts and can't stand the sight of her, whenever he was in her presence he cannot wait to get away from her.She continued with Amelia's food and by the time she woke Adriana fed her and spent the next few hours with her.

She shouldn't spent her time thinking about a man that doesn't like her no matter how hot he was,she was busy playing with Amelia on the floor when someone knocked on the door.

"Come in."She softly said and Diana's nurse entered.

"Mrs White is asking for you."She told Adriana.

"I'll be there shortly."She said and the woman left,a few minutes later she took Amelia with her,Diana was sitting upright in bed with pillows comfortably supporting her back.

She smiled when she saw Adriana."She's so cute it's a shame I won't live long enough to see my great grandchildren."Adriana could see the sadness in her eyes.

"Don't say such things Diana."Adriana touched her hand.

"There's no point in denying the truth."Nothing she will say will make a difference Diana was right."You probably wondering why I asked you to stay back."She said after a while and Adriana nodded."I need to sort out my affairs get everything in order before I die and that starts with you."

"Diana you don't owe me anything and I don't expect anything from you,I'm not here to get something from you I'm here because I want to be,I want to know my grandmother even if it's for a short time.You are my only family apart from Amelia I've always wanted to know who my father's family was and in this short time I've learned alot and when I leave here it will be the only thing I take with me."Adriana meant every word she didn't come here for her own selfish beneficial reasons.

"You so kind Adriana and not self-centered,placing others need above your own helping and taking care of others and putting yourself last.You have your great-great grandmothers traits just like you she also loved flowers especially sunflowers." Adriana was surprised and it showed on her face."You have alot of our family traits in you I couldn't have asked for a better granddaughter than you,despite going through your own personal problems you dropped everything and came here when I called you and you hardly know me that well."

"If it wasn't for you I would never have known my father and for that I should thank you."Amelia wiggled out of her arms Adriana made her sit of the carpet floor with her rattle toy and doll.

"Please don't thank me it was my duty as your grandmother I can now see why your father thought the two of you would make a good pair.Your good nature will transform Max's stubborn and hard-headedness."

Adriana looked at her quizzical."I don't understand."

"What do you think of Maximiliano."Diana asked her.

"Well...uhm,I haven't thought that far yet...he's handsome to begin with."She blushed at her admission why had she even said that."He's uptight,dismissive,cold,distant and I get the feeling he doesn't like me."Diana smiled at her.

"Max isn't much of a talker he mostly keeps to himself and is very wary when it comes to people,he doesn't trust easily."

Adriana understands now why he's acting the way he is towards her."Makes sense.I cannot picture him having a wife at all if he isn't much of a talker the man seems very stern."

Diana laughed and it warmed her heart if only she'll get more times like this with her Adriana thought."That's why you'll be perfect for him.You're cheerfull carefree and that's exactly what he needs in his life a beautiful flower who will light up his life."

"What?"The word an inaudible whisper that slipped from her lips,she must've heard Diana wrong."What do you mean?"

"Adriana my dear I have one last request to ask of you before I take my last breath.Would you marry Max,your father thought the two of you would be a good match for each other and I agree with him,seeing the two of you together at dinner the other night eased my mind further. Max will take good care of you and I will rest easy knowing you're in good hands."

Adriana practically jumped off the chair."No!"She said forcibly, shaking her head."I can't marry him."
