Chapter 42

Rose’s point of view:

I was sure that a young werewolf with a healthy life could not have so many symptoms at the same time. Besides, I had already prescribed medication and gave Hilary a massage to relieve her headache. It was therefore impossible for her condition to worsen considerably as she claimed.

She had refused to have a blood test. The hospital of this pack did not have all the necessary diagnostic facilities. Realising that she continued to create a fuss, I assumed that she was pretending to be sick and that she just wanted to create problems for me.

Fuck! She was so mean. In normal circumstances, I would have completely ignored her, but now I couldn't, because this work at the hospital was really important to me. Despite this, I could no longer stand her, now I had to find a way to reveal her lie and teach her a good lesson.

"Auch, I have such a headache. Would there be a competent doctor who could treat me? It's getting worse and worse! Rose is not at all competent. The a

Rose’s Point of View“Rose is right, Hilary. You should get treatment quickly if you’re sick. A brain tumor isn’t trivial. Your life could be in serious danger if cancer cells spread,” the nurse said, her tone filled with concern.Hilary’s dramatic screams had already gathered a crowd of curious werewolves outside the consultation room. They peeked in through the door, murmuring amongst themselves. Their concern seemed genuine, likely stemming from the fact that Hilary had once saved the Alpha’s life.“Rose is a good doctor. She’s saved plenty of lives, especially after the construction accident,” one werewolf assured her. “She won’t harm you, Hilary. We’ll make sure of it.”“Exactly. You should do everything you can to stay alive. Delaying this only makes things worse,” another chimed in.“Let’s get started, then,” someone said. “Nurse, prepare to shave Hilary’s head. The operation mustn’t be delayed any longer.”The suggestion caused Hilary to freeze. Panic flickered across her face

I hadn’t seen Rose since the day in the forest, yet I couldn’t forget her expression. Her light brown eyes shone with fear and disgust, as if she had seen a monster—and that monster was me.But what did I expect? Gratitude? Forgiveness? After all I’d done to her, her hatred was justified. It should have been enough to push her out of my mind. Yet, her image lingered.“Shit, Jack. You’re pathetic,” Uriel, my wolf, growled, his voice sharp with disdain. “She’s your enemy—a slave now. You shouldn’t feel anything for her. If anything, you should be thanking me. Now that she hates you, she’ll steer clear of you.”“Thank you, Uriel,” I said flatly. My wolf’s voice faded, but his words hung in the air. I hated that he was right. Rose and I were fated mates, but fate had clearly made a mistake. I didn’t deserve a mate, least of all Rose.“You know, you’re better off without her. You’re not capable of love, Jack. You’re a killer, a warrior. You don’t need her,” Uriel said, calmer this time, as

Rose's POVA week had passed, and my life in the hospital had gradually become more comfortable. At first, the other werewolves treated me with distrust. Some patients refused to let me treat them, and my colleagues kept their distance, unwilling to work alongside me. I understood why—they saw me as the enemy, the daughter of the Alpha who had once attacked their pack. But things began to change. Slowly. After successfully treating a few patients, I earned their trust. They started to see me as more than just a name tied to their pain. My colleagues began including me in their discussions, sharing their insights and teaching me things I’d never known. They were skilled, dedicated, and surprisingly kind. These werewolves weren’t the cruel and ruthless monsters my father had described. They were humble, grateful, and hardworking. The more I learned about them, the more I questioned the decisions that had brought us to this point. Why had my father invaded this pack? What had driven him

Rose had uncovered my lie. She knew I was pretending to be sick, and she used it to humiliate me. She deliberately wanted to put me under the knife, as if to show everyone how powerless I was against her. What if she’d gone through with the operation? She could have killed me right there on the operating table, and no one would have batted an eye. That merciless bitch. The werewolves of the Blue Lagoon pack were blind. How could they not see through her? She wasn’t some innocent, hardworking doctor trying to help the pack. No, she was the enemy, and she was manipulating everyone, turning them against me little by little.I couldn’t risk staying in the hospital. I bolted before they could strap me down. But my luck only worsened when I ran straight into Jack outside the building. His expression was cold—colder than I had ever seen it. I’d never feared Jack before, but at that moment, the weight of his authority pressed down on me.“This is my last warning, Hilary,” he said, his voice l

Hilary's point of view:Certain that Jack would accept his offer, Loren gave me a look of confidence."Sorry, Alpha Loren, but I won't sell Rose. She belongs to me, "said Jack nonchalantly before leaning back in his chair and looking at us, Loren and me, condescendingly.Did I hear correctly? Had Jack just said that Ross was his? I couldn't believe my ears. I felt my heart break so much I was suffering. I was seized by jealousy and despair.Jack and I had known each other for years. And we had supported each other to spend the worst moments in the dungeon. But, it was the first time he also showed himself possessive."Jack, do you forget that the Blue Lagoon pack needs money? It's a new pack and it needs funding. Besides, it's not like Loren is our enemy. We also can't afford to offend the other packs " I tried to persuade Jack , after calming down."The situation of the Blue Lagoon pack is not so critical, we will not starve even without these fifty million dollars. In addition, Rose

When I learned Rose no longer lived in the dungeon, I was furious. Jack’s kindness toward her was inexplicable. Giving her an apartment? Treating her like an equal? She was supposed to be a slave, and yet, she lived better than most wolves in the pack. That was when I knew—something had to be done.My plan unfolded with precision. I discreetly smuggled Loren’s werewolves into Blue Lagoon territory and waited for the perfect moment. After learning Rose’s schedule, I timed my move for when she was at work.Breaking into her apartment was laughably easy. Once inside, I made my way to her bedroom and poured a heavy dose of sleeping drug into the carafe of water she kept on her nightstand. Then I stationed Loren’s werewolves outside, while I took the apartment opposite hers. Through my telescope, I could see everything. When Rose returned home, she went about her routine—cooking, cleaning, and tidying her room. It took every ounce of patience I had not to scream at how slowly she moved. Fi

Jack’s point of view After finishing the last of my paperwork, I was preparing to turn in for the night when Lydia reached out to me through the mental link. Her voice carried a sense of urgency that instantly put me on edge.“Jack, Rose is missing,” she said.Without hesitation, I sent word to my men, ordering them to comb through our entire territory for her. Meanwhile, I rushed to her apartment, where Lydia was already waiting.“I came to bring her food, but she didn’t answer the door,” Lydia explained as soon as I arrived. “I asked the guards stationed downstairs, and they confirmed they saw her return from the hospital earlier. I forced the lock, but when I got inside, the place was empty. And her belongings—some of them are gone.”My jaw tightened. “What about Andrea? Is she still here?”“Yes,” Lydia replied, her face pale. “She’s at my house playing with Grace.”Her words didn’t sit right with me. Rose would never abandon her sister, no matter the situation.I stepped into the

Hilary’s Point of ViewNever before had Jack shouted at me so harshly, and I had never seen him so shaken. It was as if he was barely holding himself together. But why? Why was he so upset over her? Why was he yelling at me because of that worthless girl?My chest tightened with anger, but I forced my eyes to well with tears, letting sadness paint my face. I knew how to play my role. I let my lip tremble and my gaze fall to the ground, ensuring I looked pitiful and hurt.Jack’s threatening glare softened when he noticed my tearful expression. As always, my act worked. Whenever I pushed him too far, all I had to do was appear fragile, and he would back down. This time would be no different. Without Rose, everything would go back to how it used to be between us. That thought alone filled me with relief, even joy.Loren’s men had done their job—or so I thought. The fabricated scene they had created should have been enough to convince Jack to give up his search. But as Jack knelt to pick

Jack’s Point of ViewThe dungeon was as sinister as ever, its gloom pierced only by the dim, flickering glow of aged lamps. No matter how brightly the sun blazed outside, its warmth would never penetrate this place.Brad, weakened and battered, crumbled after only a few lashes. Trembling and pitiful, he spilled everything he knew.As I watched him break so easily, a thought crossed my mind: perhaps even if I hadn’t attacked the Maroon Hill pack, it would have eventually fallen apart on its own. Its leaders were inept, and the pack was rotting from within—a carcass waiting for scavengers.“Why did you approach Rose?” I asked, my voice low but commanding. “You knew very well she’s just a slave. It’s unlikely she would’ve even had the opportunity to get close to me.”This was the part that intrigued me the most. Only those in my inner circle knew of the relationship between Rose and me. To the rest of the pack, she was nothing more than an ordinary doctor.Brad hesitated, his eyes dartin

Jack’s Point of View:“This pitiful little thing cries so beautifully,” I thought, my lips curling into a cold smirk. Her tears only heightened my excitement. Finally, the day I’d been waiting for had arrived. Jack, this is the best decision you’ve ever made.Inside my mind, Uriel roared with unrestrained anticipation. “I can’t wait to make her suffer! Torture her! Break her, Jack!” His voice was feral, a chaotic drumbeat in my head, and I felt him pushing, clawing for control over my body.I gritted my teeth, tightening my grip on reality. Uriel was too dangerous to let loose right now. If I gave in, he would’ve killed Rose right there in that room.Instead, I locked her up and left without a second glance, making certain she had no chance of escaping.Uriel raged as I walked away. “Why leave now? Why not finish it? Rip her apart. A sexual slave doesn’t deserve dignity or clothes!”“Not yet,” I replied, my tone calm, deliberate, even as anger burned through my veins. “Death would be

Rose’s point of view“Take him and lock him in the dungeon,” Jack ordered, his voice sharp and unyielding as his gaze pierced the stormy night sky.Without hesitation, the wolves dragged Brad away. The others seemed to sense the icy rage radiating from Jack and quickly retreated, leaving the room eerily silent.Jack walked in and settled onto the couch, his presence heavy and oppressive. The air in the room thickened with tension, making it hard to breathe.I didn’t dare meet his eyes. My head hung low, my focus fixed on his polished leather shoes. A cold sweat soaked my back, clinging to my shirt and making my skin crawl. My legs trembled as I stumbled back toward the edge of the bed, my heart pounding in my chest.“I—I didn’t…” My voice wavered as panic clawed at my throat. “I didn’t poison you… I swear, I didn’t…” The words spilled out in a chaotic jumble, shaky and incoherent.Jack’s cold voice cut through my rambling like a blade. “Was it Brad? Did he give you the poison?”Before

Jack’s point of viewThat night, one of my men—one of the few who knew I was alive—reached out to me through the mental link. He reported that a suspicious werewolf had slipped into the Blue Lagoon pack’s territory. The moment had finally come.I rushed to the basement of the villa to monitor the surveillance screens. Armed werewolves surrounded the villa, awaiting my command. While keeping Rose in her room, I had ordered a camera and listening device to be installed.Minutes later, a werewolf climbed through her window. It was Brad.He seemed elated, practically glowing with satisfaction. As soon as he entered, he began discussing the plan to kill me. Rose remained silent, offering no objection. It was in that moment I truly understood—Rose wanted me dead.A wave of anger and bitter disappointment surged through me, tightening every muscle in my body. My head pounded violently, but I forced myself to stay in control. Losing my temper would allow Uriel, my wolf, to take over completel

That was when I finally understood Jack’s plan. He had kept me locked in this room, only to announce his own violent “death” by poisoning. He wasn’t gone—he was waiting. Waiting for Brad to take the bait and show up.“The guards have loosened the security at the pack’s entrance. Let’s grab Andrea and leave together!” Brad urged, trying to pull me outside. But I forced myself to stay calm, suppressing the panic rising inside me. “Brad, I have something to take care of. You should go now,” I said, gesturing desperately for him to leave.I was certain Jack was watching us through the camera at that very moment, his eyes dark with fury. I could almost picture his expression—cold, sharp, on the verge of snapping.“Jack is dead, Rose. Why stay here? I came to save you. The Blue Lagoon pack is in disarray. This is the perfect chance for us to escape. If you don’t leave, do you think the pack won’t start to suspect you?” Brad’s voice was tense, full of urgency, but his words only made things

  • ALPHA’s HEART MY PRISON   Chapter 91

Rose’s point of viewI didn’t know what Hilary had said to Jack, but the moment he returned to the private room, he coldly ordered his men to place me under house arrest. His expression was icier than ever. This wasn’t the first time he’d treated me this way, but this time, it hurt in a way I couldn’t explain. I hadn’t done anything wrong.Peter, the butler, brought me food daily, but he refused to speak or respond to my questions. I wondered if Jack had instructed him to stay silent. Cut off entirely from the outside world, I had no idea what was happening beyond these walls. What puzzled me most was Jack’s inaction. If he truly believed I’d tried to poison him, his ruthless nature would have compelled him to act swiftly. Instead, he was silent, leaving me in an unbearable limbo. The night they confined me, Jack had ordered his men to install cameras in my room. The realization that he distrusted me so deeply was like a dagger to the heart. After all the time we had spent together, I

By the time Marvin confirmed that the soup was indeed poisoned, my unwavering faith in Rose wavered, if only for a moment.“You fool! I told you this woman was dangerous. She had another agenda when she saved you!” Uriel snarled in my mind, his rage almost palpable.“Shut up, you idiot,” I snapped, silencing him before his rant could muddle my thoughts further. His erratic behavior only made it harder for me to think clearly.“You need to stop letting her manipulate you! Lock her up or end her now! If you want to die, fine, but don’t take me down with you.”Uriel’s growls were feral, as though he’d leap out and tear Rose apart if given the chance.“I’ll handle this. Calm down.”My temples throbbed painfully, as they always did when I was overwhelmed by Uriel’s incessant outbursts.“The soup tested by Marvin was confirmed to be poisoned,” I announced to everyone, my gaze fixed on Rose. Her lips pressed into a thin line, and her expression remained stoic.“Even if the soup was poisoned,

Jack’s point of viewHilary stormed in, blurting out that the soup was poisoned. The sheer absurdity of her claim left me stunned. I knew Hilary despised Rose, and she had tried to harm her more than once in the past. This wasn’t the Hilary I once knew. She had become petty and ruthless, her jealousy turning her into someone unrecognizable.I had tried to reason with her, to make her see the error of her ways, but my words had fallen on deaf ears. Were it not for the fact that she’d saved my life before, I would’ve banished her from the Blue Lagoon pack or locked her up by now. What caught me completely off guard was Hilary’s proposition to leave the pack if she was wrong about the soup. The confidence in her tone made me pause. For the first time in a long while, I felt compelled to give her the benefit of the doubt. After all, she had more to lose than anyone else if she was lying.Hilary brought up Beta Brad from the Maroon Hill pack, claiming that he had met Rose during her time a

Rose’s point of view:Why did Hilary dare to make this bet?Leaving would only deprive her forever of the blessing and protection of the Blue Lagoon pack. This meant that she was 100% sure that this soup was poisoned.I suddenly had a bad feeling. I went back to look at Jack, but I saw that his face had hardened. I probably didn't expect Hilary to offer such a bet either."Marvin, take this bowl of soup to the lab to have it analysed," ordered Jack, looking towards the door. Under his order, Marvin rushed outside, taking the soup."I didn't poison you. Jack, you can check the surveillance video.” I insisted that I had not poisoned him, and that I was telling the truth. Although the surveillance video must have filmed me taking the poison bottle out of my pocket, I could explain to him why I had this poison bottle. The surveillance video would clearly show that I did not put the poison in his soup.Jack agreed and called the restaurant manager. After doing some exchanges, we discovered
