This Is All Your Fault.

I arrived home to find my son and his father waiting for me in the driveway. Despite their bright smiles, the heavy feeling in my chest from today's incident remained. I didn't want them to suspect my mood, so I mustered a tired smile when I got out of the car.

"Hey, baby," I greeted my child with a peck on the cheek. "Have you eaten yet?"

He wrapped his arms around my neck and replied, "Yes, Mom. Dad made me an egg sandwich. It was delicious."

I shot a surprised look at my mate, who was looking at me intensely. His gaze unnerved me, inexplicably making me angry. I focused on my son, listening to his day's adventures. Zayn still lingered around us despite my attempts to shoo him away, so I gave in and brought out a small package for Alexei.

"Hey, look at what I brought for you."

His eyes widened when he saw the logo on the package and exclaimed, "Mom, is that what I think it is?!"
