LYRA’S POV
The awful smell of blood hit me as I looked at my clothes and saw blood dripping from it. I looked around as the world suddenly became slow and then saw bulging eyes gazing intensely at me and their lips moving but couldn't be heard by me. They pointed their fingers and I looked at their lips trying to figure out what they were saying. “Murderer!!!” one of them said as he pointed towards me. I couldn’t understand what he meant by that as I looked on in confusion. “Bloody killer.” another said. Just as my eyes fell to the ground , I saw the lifeless body of my parents lying there. My life flashed before my eyes as the air suddenly became thinner and my breath quickened. I opened my mouth but empty words came out. “Eat their bodies!!!! It’s all your fault, cursed child!!!” another yelled. I dropped down on my knees as I stretched my hands and touched my Mother’s face. It was as cold as ice as I suddenly felt goosebumps around my body. Tears dropped down my face as I shaked her lifeless body on the floor vigorously and just as I stooped, she got up and looked at me dead cold in my eyes. “It’s your fault…you will never find anyone to love you!!!” “No!!! It’s not my fault!! No!!!” I screamed loudly as I suddenly felt water on my body and I jerked awake. I looked around in confusion as my body dripped of water. “Welcome back to the land of the living bitch…you have work to do.” Christina said. Christina was the pack slut who had a thing with the Alpha and because of that, she felt like the whole pack revolved around her as she could do as she pleases. As for me, when my parents died a few years ago and I had nowhere to go to, I was faced with the decision to either become a rogue or be a pack slave and I chose the latter. From the moment I became a pack slave, life at the Diamond moon pack has been a living hell for me. I was sent on errands everyday and every minute without rest and I wasn’t feeding properly. Even at the age of 18, I was looking so frail and boneless and because of how malnourished I was, I haven’t had the opportunity to shift. “Are you deaf bitch!!! I said you have work to do or should I go tell Crane that you are lagging off??” she asked with a smirk. Crane is the Alpha of the pack I am currently a slave in and because Christiana services his bed, she feels she doesn’t have to accord him respect by adding Alpha to his name. I didn’t want any trouble with Alpha Crane because he was heartless and so I got up faster than the speed of light from where I was napping. “No…what do you want me to do??” I asked. “First change out of those clothes…you look like a lifeless chicken.” she said as she looked at me from my head to toe. “It’s all your fault bitch!! You drenched me with water.” I wanted to say to her but I kept mute. “Yes.” I silently muttered. She walked out and I looked for what to wear. As I opened the tattered bag my clothes were in, I knew that searching was going to be futile because I had nothing to change to. I only had three pairs of clothes, two of which were so badly destroyed that at a point I felt the clothes had started calling my name to let go of them....and the last pair wes the one I was currently putting on which just got drenched with water. I sighed deeply as I looked around the store room where I slept. As the pack servant, I wasn’t allowed to have a decent room except the store room which smelled like spoiled food and animal feces. The walls were old and cracked and cobwebs were so embedded in the ceiling that one would assume that I was a distant relative of spiders. The floors were coated with hard concrete and I slept on them like that because I had no bed and no cloth to spread on. I had just one poorly constructed window that couldn’t even lock properly and when rain poured, there wasn’t any difference between standing outside the rain and the store room. I closed the bag and went out like that as I was willing to accept the consequences of my action. “I thought I asked you to change your clothes, you bitch!!??” Christina yelled. “I have nothing else to wear…this is the only good pair of clothes I have.” I said. She suddenly raised her hand and slapped me so hard on my face that it stung. I placed my hand on my face as I rubbed it softly to reduce the pain I felt. “What the hell is going on here??!!!” Alpha Crane asked as he walked in on Christina and I. “Hey baby…she is…” “Haven’t I told you to address me as your Alpha??!!” Alpha Crane said to Christina as he cut her short. I chuckled softly in satisfaction as my head was still bowed. “Sorry Alpha…I asked her to do something and she refused.” she said. “What did you ask her to do??” This was the part where I was going to laugh because what she asked me to do was not worth getting slapped for. “I…I…I..as…asked her to…d..deliver a message to you and she refused.” Christina said as she stuttered. “That is not true Alpha.” I said. “Did I ask you to speak!!!” he yelled at me. “No Alpha…I am sorry.” I said as I bowed my head. I bit my lips so hard that I was sure it drew blood as tears gathered in my eyes. “The Alpha of the Tiger wood blood pack is on his way here….I want everything to be ready for his arrival and don’t you dare make any mistakes.” he said to me. “Yes Alpha.” I said. I was glad that he didn’t punish me for the lies Christina told against me. I have heard stories about the Alpha of the Tiger wood blood pack and how ruthless he was and so I decided to avoid him as much as I could. After about two hours of working, I was finally done and so I reported back to Alpha Crane and he dismissed me to rest for a while. I walked to the wood nearby and sat down on a rock as tears rolled down my face while reminiscing about the death of my parents. They were both killed by rogues and I was blamed and ounsted out of their pack for their deaths. Suddenly I heard noises as I stood up in fear. After looking around, I suddenly smelt something so alluring like pinewood mixed with raspberry. A figure then walked out and as he stared at me, I gasped in fear as his eyes bore into mine. “Mate.” he said.THANE’S POVI quickened my pace as my climax hit me.“Yessss Thane!!!” the brunette moaned out.I removed myself from her and laid back on the bed as I tried to catch my breath.“That was so good Alpha….can we go again??” she asked as her hands moved around my body.I caught her hands before it could reach my torso and glared at her.“Get out.” I said. The smile on her face dropped suddenly as she looked at me with confusion.I was not one to get attached with women especially when I know they are just good f**ks and nothing more than that.“Why, what did I do wrong??” she asked. The kinds of people I hated the most were the dumb ones who couldn't assimilate simple statements.“Are you deaf??” I asked in irritation.“I am not..but.”“I said leave!!!!!” I thundered. She hurriedly got up from the bed, got dressed and left the room in a flash.I haven't been in a good mood for a few days now after hearing that some measly rogues killed some of my warriors some days ago.It was my sole g
TYLA’S POV “I, Tyla Niver, accept your rejection.” I said. I felt great pain as I accepted his rejection and it felt like the inside of me was about to be ripped apart. I looked at him and could see the shocked expression on his face and that could only mean that he wasn’t expecting me to accept the rejection. “Who do you think you are to accept my rejection???!!” he thundered in anger. “What would you have me do then??? You just insulted and rejected me and the right thing to do is to accept your rejection.” I said softly. “How dare y…” “Alpha Thane!!! Alpha Crane has been looking all over for you and he needs your attention as soon as possible.” Someone said as he interrupted my mate or rather my ex mate. From my guess, the person seemed like his aide or beta because I have never seen such a face in the park before. “As for you, do not think in that little head of yours that I am done with you….you will regret accepting my rejection.” Alpha Thane said as he walked a
TYLA’S POVI squinted my eyes open as a bright reflection flashed in.“She is finally awake.” A voice said.“Am I dead??” I asked as I looked around in confusion, not being able to recognize where I was.“No dear, you aren’t dead.”“Then where am I and who are you??” I asked.“You are currently at the Pack Clinic and you have been unconscious for a few days now.”“Pack Clinic??? Since when did the pack Clinic change??” I asked as I looked around in confusion.I knew our Pack Clinic so well that if I was asked to describe it from a deep slumber, I could but this one was looking completely different.“Oh dear, you aren’t in your previous pack anymore.” The lady said.“What??? How?? I don’t understand what you mean ma’am….Which pack am I in then???” “You are in the Tiger Wood blood pack.” she said.I suddenly burst into laughter as I assumed she must be trying to play pranks on me.How could I be at the pack of the one who rejected me as his mate and how could I also have gotten here.“
THANE’S POVAs soon as Alpha Crane hit Tyla across her face the first time, I growled deeply in anger as my wolf threatened to come out.I know I rejected her as my mate but for some weird reasons, I still felt possessive over her and so when he hit her the second time and she fell to the ground unconscious with blood slipping out of her mouth, I lost it.“Is she dead??” One of the elders seated in the living room said.“ leave her alone!!!” I yelled in anger as I walked towards her.“Who are you to tell me what to do???” Alpha Crane asked.I almost told everyone that Tyla was my mate but the fact that I rejected her stopped me from doing so and besides, she was only a pack slave and wasn't worth anything.“Take mate out of here.” My wolf said.“I don't fucking want her around me.” I responded to him.“If you leave her here, she will die.” He said again. As much as I didn't want to agree with my wolf, he was right.I looked at Tyla lying on the floor looking so frail and also looking
THANE'S POV“I, Alpha Thane of the Tiger wood blood pack, take back my rejection.” I said.As soon as I took back my rejection, I noticed something strange started happening.I suddenly started hearing the cracking of Bones and when I looked closely, I noticed that she was starting to shift.“But how, the first time I saw her, I could swear that she was not a shifter but how come she is shifting now??” I asked myself in confusion.“Mate is unique…she is not as weak as you thought.” my wolf said.“The fact that she is shifting doesn't change my mindset on the fact that she is still a weakling.” I said.I gently placed her back down on the ground as I observed what would happen next. Her body suddenly began to twist, her limbs elongating and her muscles rippling beneath her skin. Her clothes suddenly got torn and ripped, unable to contain her wolf from emerging. In a matter of moments, a towering werewolf emerged with silver furs that glowed like embers. It's chest heaved, it's fur fluf
THANE'S POV“No one Mother, I just had a few things to sort out and I was saying them out loud to myself.” I said.“Alright, there is an important Matter I want to discuss with you son.”“Can it wait??? I have something important I want to tend to right now.” I said.“No, it can't wait…we need to talk about it now.” My Mother insisted.“Alright, do you want us to talk in my room or in the living room??.”“Let's talk in your room, remember the walls of this pack house have ears.”“Alright then, let’s go talk in my room.” I said as my Mother and I walked back to my room.As soon as we entered, I locked the door from within to prevent anyone from barging in, especially my brother.“What is so serious that you want to talk about in private, Mother??? Hope all is fine?? Is there something troubling you??” I asked.“Yes, something is indeed troubling me son.”“What is it, Mother???”“Thane, haven’t you found your mate yet??” she asked. As soon as she asked that question, I suddenly started
TYLA’S POVI suddenly saw myself walking through a lonely and narrow path as I looked around in confusion.“Where am I?? Where is this place??” I asked myself as I walked further.“Tyla.” A voice called.“What?? Who is it?? Show yourself.” I yelled in fear as I looked around but found nobody in sight.“Tyla.” the voice called again, alleviating my fear this time around.“I said show yourself.” I said.“Do not be afraid, for I am not an enemy.” the voice said.“Then who are you?? And how do you know my name??” I asked in confusion.“I am a part of you dear.”“A part of me?? I don’t understand what you mean.” I said.“My name is Lyra and I am your wolf.”I suddenly burst into laughter.“Is something funny??” “If you had told me you were my mother, I would probably have believed you but for someone who has never shifted all her life and then suddenly had a wolf, I am sorry but I do not believe you.” I said.“How ignorant can you be Tyla???”“I am not ignorant Lyra or whatever you call y
TYLA'S POV“Tsk..tsk...tsk...Your beloved Alpha Crane sold you to me cheaply as a slave.” Thane said as his words kept on ringing in my ears.“What??? I was sold to you??”“What did you think little mate, that I came to that pack as your fairytale prince charming in shining armor to rescue you from the bad knights???” Thane asked with a smirk.“I know I wasn't special but selling me off was something I never expected from him.” I said in almost a whisper as tears gathered in my eyes.“Wake up to reality little mate!!! Nobody gives a fuck about you and especially when you mean nothing to them and that being said, I hope it is now clear to you the reason why you can't go back to your previous pack.”“I can't and won't accept it.” I said.“You don't have a choice Tyla Mira, now you are going to do everything I have asked you to do, am I clear??”“And what if I don't??”Thane moved closer to me as he moved his mouth close to my ears.“Remember the first time you tried escaping from this p
THANE'S POVThe morning light cut through the clouds, but it felt too bright for the heaviness in my chest. I stood outside the clinic, hands in my pockets, staring at the building like it held the answers to everything..or maybe the end of everything.I wasn’t ready for the truth. But I needed it.My shoes hit the floor harder than I meant as I walked in. The pack nurse at the front desk gave me a polite nod, clearly recognizing me. “Alpha Thane, the pack healer will be with you shortly.”I nodded back but didn’t sit down as I couldn't. My whole body was tense, like I was preparing for war. Tyla’s face flashed in my mind and how hurt she looked when I asked for the test. How she walked away from me, again and how I swallowed the guilt.I was doing this for the truth, For her, For the pack, and for the child. “Thane?” a soft voice called. I turned. It wasn’t the pack healer. It was Bridget. She looked calm, too calm. Her hands were clasped in front of her, and her eyes held t
TYLA'S POV“What's funny??” We suddenly heard a voice behind us as we screamed.Celeste and I turned around and were shocked to see who it was.“Why are you both laughing out here?”“Aurelius?” I said with a shock expression on my face.He crossed his arms, looking more annoyed than apologetic. “Sorry for scaring you two.” he muttered, though he didn’t sound sorry at all.Celeste’s expression changed. She looked like a child caught sneaking snacks before dinner. “What are you doing here, Aurelius?” Celeste asked.“That’s none of your business.” he shot back as I rolled my eyes. “Really? You sneak up on us in the woods, scare us, and now you’re acting like the victim? Just tell us the truth.”He hesitated for a second, then sighed. “Fine. I was following Celeste.” Aurelius said as Celeste gasped. “You were trailing me?”“I had to...You’ve been distant, sneaking around…. I needed to know what you were up to.”I looked at Aurelius with an amusement as I wondered if he was starting
TYLA'S POVI will tell you the reason but for now, listen to me and listen carefully Tyla…the child that came claiming to be your mate's child, is actually not Thane's change but a ploy to break the bond between you and him.”“What are you saying celeste??” I whispered, my voice shaky. It was Celeste, Aurelius's new mate who suddenly appeared from nowhere on my Luna ceremony day. Her face was calm but serious, and her eyes scanned the area around us quickly. “I really didn’t mean to scare you, Tyla. I’ve been trying to reach you since the clinic to tell you this.”“But explain to me properly…I still don't fully understand what you are trying to say.” I said.Celeste hesitated for a second, then looked me straight in the eye. “Emmy and Bridget, they’ve been plotting behind your back.... I’ve been keeping an eye on them for a while now.”“What are you talking about?” I whispered, completely taken off guard.“The child,” she said slowly, “the one claiming Thane is her father... it’s
TYLA'S POVAs soon as I walked away from Thane and the chaos happening at the clinic, I went into the woods.I couldn't breathe properly and my thoughts were a mess.I thought everything was going to be perfect and I was only going to concentrate on my part as the Luna of the pack but now this comes up.The trees whispered in the cold breeze as I stumbled deeper into the woods, wiping at the hot tears rolling down my cheeks. My heart felt like it had been shattered and scattered among the fallen leaves. All I knew was that I needed to get away.Away from the clinic….away from Thane…And away from the truth I didn’t want to face.My hands trembled as I fell to my knees beside a large tree, digging my fingers into the earth as if it could hold me together. My chest rose and fell in sobs, and I lifted my face to the sky.“Moon Goddess,Why? Why are you punishing me like this? Haven’t I loved enough? Haven’t I given everything? Why do you keep tearing me apart?” I said as tears rolled do
WRITER'S POVAs soon as Sherleen rushed out and handed Charlotte to Thane, Thane rushed to the Clinic with Tyla by his side.Even without saying a word to each other, the tension between Tyla and Thane could be felt even from miles away.Thane held the little girl tightly while Tyla was right behind him. Even with what was happening to her, the child looked around with big, curious eyes, but Thane felt the weight of the world pressing on his chest. Her presence stirred questions he couldn’t answer. The moment she’d called him “Father” something inside him broke. He couldn’t ignore the feeling that he’d seen her mother before…maybe once, maybe in passing…but he couldn’t remember anything more.“Someone take her!!!” Thane yelled as one of the pack nurses came running and takes Charlotte to a room for treatment and check up while Thane and Tyla followed behind.“Her shifting ” the pack nurse repeated, taking the girl’s vitals. “It happened too early.”“She should be around six or sev
WRITER'S POV“We need my Mother now!!! Thane bit out.“I'll go get here.” Bridget said.“Please hurry.” Bridget walked briskly away from the house, her face carefully composed in worry and urgency. She had just left Thane and Tyla as she placed the little girl in Thane’s arms with a solemn expression. But Bridget had no intention of going to fetch Sherleen. She slipped through a side path behind the herb gardens, her pace quickening with each step until she disappeared into the thicker trees near the training grounds. There, waiting beneath the shade of an old oak, was Emmy.As soon as Bridget reached him, she burst into laughter. Emmy joined her, his arms crossed over his chest, eyes gleaming with amusement.“I can’t believe it worked.” he said, grinning wide.Bridget laughed even harder. “Thane actually believed her! The look on his face! Tyla looked like she was about to faint.” Bridget said as she laughed harder.“She plays the role well.” Emmy said with a nod. “Where is th
THANE'S POVI stared at the little girl standing before me, her big purple eyes looking straight into mine. She couldn’t be more than six years old, her clothes torn and face smudged with dirt, but it was her voice that shook me.“You’re my father.” she had said without hesitation.Silence filled the air around us.“What??” Someone said behind me as I turned around abruptly.“Tyla?? What are you doing here??!!”“I came with Rico..I was worried and couldn't stay alone.”Tyla suddenly walked closer and stood beside me, her hand still gripping my arm tightly. I felt her body tense, her breath uneven.I knelt slowly to the child’s level, trying not to let my voice crack. “What… did you just say?”The little girl didn’t flinch. “You’re my father…My mommy told me before she died.”Her words sliced through me like a cold blade. “And…you said your mother was Keisha?” I asked, trying to keep my voice calm. She blinked, then whispered.“yes.”I remembered her..barely.She had come to the p
THANE'S POVI stepped out of the safe house, letting the cool night air hit my face. The sound I’d heard earlier still echoed in my mind. My senses were alert, ready for anything but deep down, I hoped it was nothing serious. After everything that had happened lately, the pack didn’t need another surprise.I moved quietly through the trees, ears wide open and my eyes scanning the shadows. My wolf stirred beneath my skin, not sensing danger, but still staying alert. The moon was full above, casting soft silver light on the forest path.A few steps later, I heard another sound like a rustle but when I turned the corner, all I saw was a small raccoon digging through a pile of fallen leaves. I let out a deep breath and shook my head. “False alarm.” I muttered.Still, I walked a bit further to be sure but I found nothing unusual. There was no scent of blood, no signs of rogues, no broken branches but just the quiet forest, humming gently like it always did when it was at peace. I t
TYLA'S POVThe knock on the door made me tense up. Ma'am Sherleen and I exchanged a quick look. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest, half expecting some kind of bad news or another emergency but ma'am Sherleen kept calm, as always. She stood and walked to the door and I watched her carefully as she opened it.“Thane?” she said with a small smile, stepping aside. My breath released. Thane stood at the door, looking concerned but calm. His eyes moved to me, and I could see the worry in them.“I figured I’d find you here.” he said, stepping inside.“I needed to talk to Mother.” I replied, moving to stand beside him. “There’s too much going on. It’s like every time we take a breath, something else hits.” I added.“I understand…we all need clarity.” he said as his hand rested lightly on my waist. Ma'am Sherleen motioned for us to sit. “We need to talk…All three of us,” she said with a serious tone.We sat in the small chairs by the window. “This pack is under threat… Not jus
