Kayla's POV.

"Kayla, you should..." Alpha Reynolds was going to say, but instantly, my instincts kicked in, and I found myself reacting swiftly to his words.

"I think I'll be on my way now! Thank you so much for the ride, Alpha!" I bowed my head immediately, and turning around, I opened the door and ran out of the car before he could utter another word to me.

I noticed he climbed out of his car to chase after me, but I was already far gone before he could stop me.

I burst into the house, and instantly, darkness engulfed me instantly.

Slamming the door shut, I leaned against it, my chest rising and falling as I struggled to catch my breath.

A mix of shock and amazement filled me, leaving me on the edge of anticipation for what had just transpired.

"What just happened?" My eyes bulged out as I tried to get a hold of myself. I was still in a state of self-reflection when, unexpectedly, the lights came on and his voice followed.

"What are you doing?"

"Ahhh!" With a sudden jolt, I let o
