She tried to stir the conversation in another direction, so she jumped on the first thing that came to her head "The weather looks so good today. Did you go on a picnic with ivy as you planned?" She asked nervously, looking out the car window to calm her nerves except what she saw didn't calm her nerves at all, it aggravated it.
"Oh my God!" Olivia gasped in astonishment at what she saw on the bill board.
"Are you ok?" She could hear Henry call out to her, but she was too shocked to find her voice.
"Olivia are you sure you are ok? Where are you? Should i come?" Henry's distressful voice that continued to bombard her with questions sounded so far away as her thoughts wandered elsewhere.
"I'm ok. Let me call you back" she cut the call quickly to avoid more questions from her worried friend.
"Stop the car please" she announced to the uber driver who immediately obeyed. She knew she'd have to pay an extra fee for the time spent, at that moment she didn't mind at all. In fact, it was the last thing on her mind.
She got out of the car to move closer to the bill board. She prayed fiercely to whatever god was out there for her to be mistaken. She stared pointedly at the picture being displayed on the board and the familiar name beneath it. To say she was stunned was an understatement.
Her heart dropped to her stomach as it finally sinked in. She had been played.
She couldn't quite believe it, everything that happened on that cruise felt so real. Where could she have gotten it all wrong, he was so good at pretending she didn't even see the signs.
She tried to understand why he didn't shift at least once throughout the trip. They were tied at the hips althrough, he couldn't have done it without being seen.
Heart broken and hurt, she rushed back to the waiting vehicle before the tears could fall. She had too many questions, she was beyond confused at that point. She gazed at the note in her hands where he wrote down his number for her to reach out to him.
Olivia cried silently as she forced her heart to tear the note but she couldn't find the strength to do so. She felt weak, shattered, and played. Bloody werewolves!
The vehicle stopped at her apartment, she was so lost in thought throughout the ride that she didn't realize the driver had dropped her at home.
She paid him inattentively, her mind preoccupied. After which she walked into her house with her heart in her hands.

Olivia hadn't called him since they departed, he didn't want to think about her but his mind kept going in that direction.
She had made it obvious that it was a one time thing. Her repudiation couldn't have been anymore clear. She could atleast be more polite and respectful by calling to tell him off, not leave him waiting and hoping that she would call.
'You idiot!' He heard his wolf, dante, utter in his head.
'Finally!!!' Liam exclaimed, feeling relieved that his wolf hadn't left him due to the rejection. Some werewolves never get their wolf back after rejection, he was glad his wasn't the case.
'How have you been dante.' Liam asked his wolf with concern, the pain of rejection is usually more prominent and difficult for the wolf than him. The pain of being cut off from their lifelong mate that they've yearned for all their life was excruciating.
'Nice of you to move on so soon after succumbing to our mate's rejection with no altercation.' Liam groaned at his wolf's over reaction. He knew if he was in his head when he met olivia, he would have fought the connection between them.
'Of course i would stupid! I don't want you with anyone else except our mate. You have to get her back' He heard his wolf's response in his head and he couldn't help rolling his eyes.
'She's gone dante. You need to accept that.' He uttered. He hoped his wolf would let valerie go and move on with him but he also knew it would be very difficult since they were connected by the mate bond, despite the rejection his wolf would still be able to feel valerie's wolf, that alone would make moving on inexpedient for him.
'You were played too Liam. You need to accept that.' His wolf mocked him.
'Welcome back dante! Missed you man.' He proclaimed as his wolf swooned in his head.

"So you are saying that you were played?" Henry asked, amusement visible in his eyes. She knew it was only a matter of time before he laughed at her.
Olivia narrowed her eyes at him in annoyance "yes i was. Can we change the topic please?" She uttered, folding her arms anxiously.
"Oh no we can't. The almighty Olivia got played by her greatest nightmare, a werewolf!" Henry quoted with emphasis on the werewolf.
Olivia rolled her eyes at his childishness. She was still hurt from her discovery of who Liam was, Henry making a joke out of it was beginning to get on her nerves.
"Henry can you stop? What do you want in my house anyways?" She snapped.
"Easy tiger! You didn't tell me checking up on a friend is now a crime. Moreover, i think you are channelling that energy in the wrong direction." She heard Henry explain his reasons for waking her up so early in the morning after a restless night.
She glared furiously at him. If only he knew how angry she was " I'm fine. Can you go now?" She resorted to a more solemn reply.
"Look Olivia, you've been indoors for a week now. For you to be so heartbroken then he must be one hell of a man. Call him and go on with your life, who cares if he's a werewolf" Henry muttered, concern for his friend evident in his stare.
"It is more than just being a werewolf Henry. He fucking lied" she exclaimed, scowling at him. Why do people think she could just move on so easily with him and get her happily ever after? This is not a cinderella story, things just doesn't work that way.
"And do you have to stay at home and sulk all day, wallowing in self pity?" Henry retorted, reciprocating her energy.
"I'm just annoyed that i got played. He seemed so special, you should have seen him Henry, we connected in ways that i haven't connected with anyone in so long. Even with you" Olivia said passionately, her mouth unable to express how dejected she was in words.
"And it's over. Common go and change, let's go for lunch" Henry opted for a different approach to get her on her feet. He had never seen her look so betrayed and downcasted.
"I can't! Just go without me. Besides, I've been feeling weak for some days now. That is my major reason for staying indoors, not because of some werewolf. I think i might be down with the flu" Henry could hear her displeasure dripping in her words.
Henry fixed his gaze intently on his friend, how he didn't notice how sick she looked until she pointed it out was beyond him. Bangs were under her eyes like she hadn't slept in days, she had a runny nose and looked so pale. He cautioned himself not to overthink her condition except he couldn't help himself.
"Have you tried taking a pregnancy test?" The words came out of his mouth before he could stop them.
"What!!!" Olivia squeaked out. Her brain tried to process the possibility but she forced it down, refusing to believe it.
"No offence Olivia but you mentioned that you guys had elaborate sex. Did he use protection?" She heard him ask and she racked her brain to try to remember.
She gasped in shock, realization dawning on her. "No he didn't. Henry he didn't" she didn't know when she started considering it but she was now sobbing in dismay.
"Olivia" Henry was speechless. He could only mutter her name.
" it might not be true right? I mean we've not confirmed it. But what if it's true Henry, i don't want to be a mother just yet" olivia bawled her eyes out. She couldn't begin to imagine raising a child on her own, not to mention a werewolf baby.
"It's ok Olivia. We will figure it out. We always do" henry consoled her, though his mind were in shambles.
"Who's the werewolf anyways. Do you know his name? Address? Is he popular?" Henry asked, brain calculating the situation and the next action to take.
"It's Liam wagner" olivia cried, her tears now falling down in streams.
"The Liam wagner?" Henry queried, he hoped it wasn't who he thought it was but her nod of admission had his heart sinking.
"Oh my God " he whispered in pertubation.
Olivia stared at the glass of water in her hands deep in thought, she was in Henry and Ivy's house where she had been staying ever since she found out that she could be pregnant. It wasn't confirmed yet, though she had used a pregnancy test kit she got from the pharmacy store. She had promised herself not to make any rash decision until it had been confirmed by the doctor. It still felt like a dream, almost three weeks ago she had gotten her leave from work for some alone time. And at the end of the day, not only did she not have any alone time, there was also the possibilty of her carrying a baby in her tummy."Good morning Olivia" She heard Ivy's voice from the kitchen doorway and she looked up from staring at the glass of water in her hands.Ivy's eyes were squinted slightly with her lips curled into a cheerful smile. Ivy was a 5'3" lady, beautiful blond hair, and always with a shy smile. They had connected immediately Henry introduced them. Olivia loved her modesty and the w
"Valerie!" Liam exclaimed at the sight of his mate, he was confused about her presence in his mother's ward. Inspite of being one of their most trusted warriors, there were boundaries his warriors couldn't cross and this was one of it.'Mate' his wolf purred in his head, running around in delight. He groaned inwardly at the headache his wolf was causing him as he coerced himself to resist.'Shut up dante!' He scolded his wolf who refused to listen but instead increased the pace of his bustle in his head."Hi Liam" he heard her angelic voice, her lips curling into a wide smile that exposed her teeth. His heartbeat accelerated at her appearance, her intoxicating scent whiffing into his nose and messing up his senses. His wolf swooned at the sound of her voice, while he vehemently forced himself to resist the mate bond. Despite rejection, the bond between them would linger for a while before getting stale, and it would only get stale if they refused to have any form of sexual relationshi
Liam could not believe his ears. His mother begged valerie to marry him? What the hell? He was a billionaire for crying out loud, he could have whoever he wanted. He wasn't going to stoop so low to beg for a lady's love, even if she was his mate.“mum!” Liam exclaimed, pulling away from her. His mouth was wide open in surprise, he wasn't going to marry Valerie.“I'm so sorry Liam. I got so emotional when I heard the news, I wanted you to get your happily ever after before anything happened to me. I think I might have acted on impulse” Grace Wagner, his mother, uttered. Trying to blackmail him emotionally.“I'm not marrying Valerie mum. She rejected me” Liam blurted out against his wolf's wish. His wolf had been rejoicing in his head at the news. Except Liam blocked his thoughts out of his head, he had made a decision and he was going to stand on it.“Liam, your father and I have spoken, and we think you accepted the rejection too fast almost as if you were waiting for it yourself. You
Liam strolled back to his mother's ward with purpose. He knew what he was going to do now, he had not realized he was holding on to the hope of meeting Olivia again until he saw her in another man's arms. He was going to give Valerie another chance, he was going to marry her. It had to be done, if not for him but for his pack. His mother would be leaving the country for her surgery, even though she hadn't decided yet, he knew she would accept it. It was time for him to be responsible and put his pack before all else. He met Kelvin at the door just as he had left him, before opening the door and walking back in. “I accept” he announced to his parents who were still in the same position he had left them. “Accept what dear” His mother asked dearly. “ I will marry Valerie” He expanciated his words, folding his hands on his chest for emphasis. His wolf rejoiced in his head at the announcement, he was happy to finally reunite with his mate. Liam knew it wasn't going to be that easy, he
“Why is my phone with you?” Liam asked Valerie, his fiancèe. After accepting to marry Valerie for the sake of his pack, he had set up a date with her to clarify a few things. First of which was why she accepted his mother's proposal, he found it confusing, how she changed from not wanting the responsibility of Luna to genuine interest in the position. She had blamed it on her insecurities. She had said she wasn't in the right frame of mind when she rejected him. It was all too much for her at the time, and she was overwhelmed by it. But after she had some time to herself to think things through, and different encounters with him in the pack house, she realized she was interested in him, and she didn't want to be a coward and flee because of pack obligations. His mother's guidance acted as a beacon of clarity for her as well.Liam was satisfied with the reply, it explained most of his doubts and questions. Though he was still skeptical about why she never looked hurt all those times
Liam stared at his sister and Valerie, who seemed to be in an intense argument. He marveled at the sight before him, he couldn't believe that the loud voices he had heard belonged to them.Diane Wagner, Liam's sister, was a very gentle and calm soul. Liam had never seen her get involved in a fight, or be in any form of discord with anyone. She was the gentle dove of the family.Liam had always loved his sister for that. Growing up, he always felt compelled to protect her but she had proved to him times without number that she didn't need his protection. “What's going on here?” His voice boomed in the room, as he tried to get their attention from their menacing stare off. They both snapped their heads to him, startled at his presence. He arched his eyebrow at them in curiosity, and he watched as they both avoided his eyes.“Uhm…nothing. I have to go” Diane whispered, scurrying out of the kitchen before Liam could utter another word. His eyes trailed after her, fixed on her back as she
It felt like eternity before the elevator door opened, she was about to step in when her legs stopped her in her stride. A chill ran down her spine like a splash of cold water. She couldn't believe she was staring at him.Liam Wagner. The name resounded in her head multiple times just so she could believe it. He was right there in the elevator, dressed in a formal wear of blue tuxedo and his hair curled and waxed backwards. She didn't want to admit it, yet she couldn't help it. The media pictures did him no justice, he was even more handsome than she remembered him to be.Olivia couldn't move her legs even though she wanted them to. It was as if they were glued to the floor out of their own volition. She was shocked at his presence. He was the last person she was expecting to see. She was also confused about what he was doing at her place of work. Thoughts whirled in her head as her heart raced rapidly. It was the first time she was seeing him up close after their departure at the sh
Olivia faltered in her step as realization dawned on her. Liam was the guest everyone had been buzzing about. He wasn't just the guest of honor but also the owner of her company. Questions flooded her mind, her head a whirlwind of wonder, she wondered why she had never seen him throughout her stay in the company. It was unbelievable. She knew she shouldn't be surprised. He was a billionaire and owner of multiple businesses across the state. However, she couldn't help being stunned. She really should have guessed who he was when she stumbled into him at the elevator. What else would ‘The’ Liam Wagner be doing at her place of work.Feeling remorseful about her choice of words to him, she considered going back to apologize. Liam was the owner of the company, and he looked really pissed at her impudence, what if he fired her?Olivia could not imagine getting fired from her job when she was five months gone, it would be a disaster. On this note, she paused in her pace and with little h
