CHAPTER FOUR

Alpha Arnold was tempted by the other packs to sell Carly into slavery, where she would be punished and dealt with harshly. Carly was sold to Lamine City, where Alpha Mikes Terry resided. Alpha Arnold instructed Terry about his plans and the slave trade he was putting in his care. Though Terry was conflicted about accepting Arnold's terms, his main focus remained the protection of his pack from any evils coming their way.

"Ahem, Alpha Arnold, let's begin," Elder Rico announced, breaking the tension in the air.

"Ladies and gentlemen, today we gather to witness the slavery trade ceremony of a lowly omega slave, Carly West, being given to our Alpha, Alpha Terry," the Shaman declared, stepping between them.

"Do you, Carly West of the Ramine Castle Pack, accept this oath and my blessings?" the Shaman continued, and Carly inhaled and exhaled deeply.

"I do," she muttered.

"And do you acknowledge and accept that henceforth, you will no longer be a member of the Ramine Castle Pack?" he added, and Carly and Alpha Terry exchanged glances.

"Yes," she replied eagerly. Who wouldn't be happy to leave a place called hell?

"Then, as an Elder and the Holy Shaman of this pack, I hereby strip you of any ties to the Ramine Castle Pack. Alpha?" The Shaman gestured to Alpha Terry, who stood up.

"I accept," he said.

Carly felt tears rolling down her cheeks as a pain in her chest made her gasp. Everyone in the hall, except Alpha Terry, clutched their chests, feeling the loss of a pack member. When the hall quieted again, the Shaman turned to Alpha Terry.

"Do you, Alpha Terry, accept her as your slave and thereby your lowly omega?" the Shaman questioned, and he nodded.

“Yes, I do,” he replied abruptly, feeling irritated.

Carly immediately felt the mate bond intensify.

"Carly, former member of the Ramine Castle Pack, do you accept Alpha Terry of the Lunar Eclipse Pack to be your master and accept anything he proposes to you?"

"I... I do," she whispered.

"That won't be necessary; we will leave now." Alpha Terry turned to Carly. "Come."

Dragging her feet, Carly followed him. He led her through the passage until they came to a hallway. She could smell that erotic scent that clouded her thoughts. Without a doubt, she knew he was the source of it.

As they walked out of the place, his eye color changed drastically to glowing red. Carly bit her lower lip, wondering who he was mind-linking.

“Get in!” His tone became indifferent and harsh. Carly thought it was because he was an Alpha. She complied, sliding into the car as he drove off.

The journey was lengthy, and by the time they reached the Golden Moon Pack in the heart of the country, it was already noon. Carly had dozed off but snapped awake when he halted the car abruptly.

"Are we home?" she mumbled, but Alpha Terry remained silent as he exited the vehicle, prompting Carly to follow suit.

Entering the Palace, Carly was awestruck by its magnificence, the sparkling allure captivating her gaze.

"Welcome, Alpha," greeted a tall woman, presumably in her fifties, as she assisted Alpha Terry in removing his suit jacket.

"What's your name again?" he inquired, prompting Carly to stutter out her name when he raised an eyebrow.

"Carly," she replied.

"Slave Carly," his words pierced her heart, leaving her reeling. "Provide her with a room and a change of clothes," he instructed.

"Honey, are you home?" a melodious voice chimed in as a slender woman descended the stairs clad in a golden net nightgown.

"Babe," Alpha Terry greeted warmly, embracing the woman, who responded with a soft moan.

"Is she the breeder?" the woman questioned, eyeing Carly with disdain as she approached.

"Listen, slave, your sole purpose here is to work for Alpha Terry and serve dutifully," the lady declared, her words striking fear into Carly's heart as she glanced at Alpha Terry for reassurance.

"Oh, slave, meet my wife, Luna Tina," Alpha Terry introduced. “You're to respect her even at your death minute,” he added, causing tears to roll down Carly's cheeks.

"Yes, Alpha," Carly mumbled.

"Miss Sarah, escort her to the maid's quarters," Alpha Terry commanded before departing with his wife, leaving Carly to ponder her grim realization: she was nothing more than a breeder to her supposed mate, who already had a wife.

As she watched Alpha Terry and his wife disappear into their chamber, Carly couldn't shake the evil looks she swore she saw on Luna Tina's face.

Carly's nightmares had become her ugly reality. It had been a straight week in this pack house, and her body had become Luna Tina's signature paper.

It was as though the Moon Goddess hated her existence so much. Otherwise, why else would Carly suffer from her childhood? When they instructed her to move to the left, she ended up going to the right. When she was asked to speak, her lips wouldn't open. Fate worked in reverse for her. If she sowed good, she reaped evil.

That's why, while serving with her head down, trying to make herself smaller than her small frame, Carly tripped over a fair leg, her tray of wine flying from her hands and tumbling to the ground, crashing loudly and spilling its red contents against the pale, fair feet of Luna Tina in the middle of the Alpha's speech. She raised her head and caught Alpha Terry's gaze, and at that moment, her heart beat wildly.

Carly let out a horrific scream, accompanied by a thunderous slap, as if she had to process that she had spilled expensive red wine on Luna Tina's elegant dress.

Luna Tina's hand smacked her head to the right as an apology left her lips. Then to the left, and right again. She kept smacking Carly as everyone stared with their mouths wide open at what she had done until the Alpha cleared his throat and called for order.

"That's enough, Carly," Alpha Terry glared at Carly, and she swallowed hard. His gaze carried hatred, disdain, and disgust.

Suddenly, the large doors in front of them began to open. Carly was hit with the most incredible scent. It was that of her mate, and she couldn't explain how she felt. His fragrance was so strong that it filled the hall, and she couldn't help but scan the place until her eyes landed on him.

He was smiling at the altar; this was the first time Carly had seen him in a better view. He had a sharp jawline, muscles irritatingly cool, and his deep blue eyes were so magical. However, at the same time, they looked darkened like charcoal.

At that moment, she couldn't see anyone else in the room. There were no other guests, only the elders who would officiate their union standing at the platform alongside her mate.

"What are you waiting for? Go!" Alpha Terry hissed, still maintaining his fake smile as he pushed Carly forward. A growl escaped from Alpha Michael indicating that he had witnessed Alpha Terry's mistreatment of Carly.

She turned to steal a glance at Alpha Terry whose face had gone pale. He bowed his head in apology and quickly made his way to his seat.
