Kain’s POV (Minutes before the attack)

A few of my men are spread around the perimeter of the south edge of the pack borders, assessing the area for signs of unauthorized break in.

A few of our men were reported missing last night with unrecognizable footprints found at the site of the crime.

“It’s over here, Alpha.” The informant, the only guard that had been on duty and didn’t go missing, calls out, pointing at a spot to draw our attention.

I’m in no mood for running around the outskirts of my own pack, but it’s a serious case and I need a dose of fresh air and a distraction from everything’s that’s been going on.

3 days, 12 hours and 13 minutes since she’d stared at me like the worst scum of the earth.
