His grip tightened over my waist as we both stared into each other’s eyes. His blue-golden unique eyes were ocean-strong, swimming with warm sun-lit currents. So enthralling just like every dancing sky, with infinite hues illuminated by newborn light. His face was mostly obscured by a stubble that clung to his skin like winter ravaged ivy tendrils. He met my gaze not with the shyness of seeing a stranger but with a blunt straightforwardness to avert his gaze first. How odd to see those half-striking features devoid of warmth, like they were stolen.

Emotions stirred in me, just like I was being pulled into the depth the more I look into his eyes.

“Alpha Xerxes,” Lucien’s startled voice rang in my ears. Something stirred inside me as I glanced at the man that just walked inside our house with long and powerful strides. His sandalwood essence infiltering my nostrils as my heart ached. What were these feels? A doubtful assumption crept into my mind as my wolf sat on her hind legs and wagg

If your moon blessed finds your words to be irrelevant, your emotions trivial, and our mate bond undesirable, would you wish to live? Perhaps he could, but I would not be able to handle it. Somehow it felt like I was the only one suffering. When the sun finally sunken behind tall mountains, I decided to scrub off the dirt and wash. It was a startling fact that Xerxes was even letting me bathe on my own. I was not being treated as the slave I was before, but maybe this freedom was short-lived. Wrapping the towel around myself, I felt myself staring into the huge gigantic mirror. The mirror was the original

“I’d never dare.” His words felt like someone was scrapping an iron nail against the metal, so sharp and piercing. It had been a few hours since Xerxes told me his truth. And I couldn’t seem to catch lies in his words. If one thing I could rate Xerxes ten in, was his honesty, he was integral when it come to truths. He’d preferably hide things but never twist them into a lie. His lingering presence was here, haunting, making me not want to wake up in the morning. He left me hanging on his words and I wouldn’t lie, I barely slept. But my heart pushed me to gather myself and divert my attention to something else. Augustus’s letter. I hadn’t pulled it out from under the mattresses, but I knew I had to either burn it or get rid of it. If Xerxes finds it, the consequences would be hazardous. My heart was wary and my mind was conscious as I numbly stepped into the bathroom. A hot shower wasn’t enough to wash away the tiredness in my limbs. Just when I stepped out, a wolf was waiting for m

“W-what’re you doing?” Despite me being indifferent to him, our bond was something that had turned into an inescapable cage, and it frightened me. Neither his hold nor his gaze softened. Xerxes watched the eerie and tensing of my body by his touch as my eyes notice the shake of his hands and the tight clench of his jaw. He didn’t like the fact that I insulted him by defying him in front of his wolves. I swallowed my fear of him to punish me and expanded the safe zone for myself, to not become the woman he could scare anymore.“Why must you defy me, Katarina?” I glared at him, showing my frustration as I yanked my wrist back. I was not interested in whatever he had to say. “I’m trying not to hurt you, but you’re making it improbable.” “Let go. I have nothing to offer, Xerxes.” Not Ben respect. I shook my head. My lips wobbled as his eyes dilated and he inhaled my scent deeply, replenishing my essence. “That’s for me to decide, flower.” He said unhesitantly. My body tensed at the nick

“Help me, Xerxes!” She screamed into the device. Her shaking fingers clutched onto the phone with every ounce of strength remaining in her tired body. Her baby blue eyes terrifyingly looked over her shoulder at wolf beasts lunging after her, eyes red and raven fur. Her legs gave up on her, as she clutched her growing stomach with her other hand. Praying and hoping to escape the inevitable. A feeling of dread, panic and anxiety clasped her. “Pick up! Pick up! Please!” she shouted, as the tears dripped down her porcelain skin. “No!”“No! Please leave me! P-plea-“Fear was a dark presence on the edge of her vision. It was like a spot of blackness that hides in the corner of her eyes. She turned to look at it, hide yet it stared directly at her, and then it disappeared. She was being chased. From the shadows came a wolf, yet he seemed like no ordinary predator. He moved to block her path, staring with almost beastly eyes. The only sound in the entire forest was Sofia’s fastened breathin

It was strange hearing him address me with such a title. I had never been called that. Probably that’s why I averted my gaze from him and wrapped my arms around myself suddenly feeling cold. “Damien.” I acknowledged him as I looked uncomfortably at him. We hadn’t talked much. If there was one person who was not reluctant to my presence, it was him. He respected me and often showed his sympathy for me. He kept looking at me for a moment and heaved a deep sigh, contemplating something that seemed to bother him. “It’s…good to see you settling in the pack.” He smiled though I could see a hint of hesitation in his dark orbs. I didn’t know how truly I was to answer him. I tried to smile at him but my eyes betrayed and I licked my dry lips, unsure. Sensing my awkwardness, Damien continued. “There’re so many things I want to tell you, Luna. But I don’t think that’s my place, I am but a mere beta of this pack. Alpha…was not like this.” I frowned at his remark. Was he trying to defend him?

The blood ran cold in my veins as the heaviness in my stomach grew more corpulent. It felt like someone was reaching up to clasp my throat with the throned wire, tightening it around me. My brain stuttered for a moment and my eyes took in more light than I expected, every part of me went on pause while my thoughts catch up. And it brought a quietness within, a moment to feel my emotions change gear and girder, my soul, for what was to come when a ferocious growl reverberated in front of me and the photos slipped from my sweaty palms to the ground. I jumped with a startle as the door slammed against the wall and my eyes rose in search of the intruder. The intruder with most distinct and alluring orbs which, however, now looked more beastly than ever. His Steele greys and golden were the platters of a ferocious man, ready to tear me apart. And it felt like the ground beneath me slipped and I felt every image flashing through my eyes. “What are you doing here?” Their deep voice of his

I eyed the horrific photos on the ground again as confusion knocked down my senses with much-needed force. Was he misunderstanding something? Xerxes scarcely paid no mind to my words as he breathed out heavily, his hands tightening around me, I felt so helpless that I couldn’t see him and did not know what he was about to do. A wicked chuckle resonated in the room.“I know what you’re trying to do,” I tried not to flinch as his rough hand collided with my bare bottom. A stinging sensation rippled through me and I bit my lips holding back a grunt. “I’m warning you, Katarina. Don’t play with me, otherwise, you’ll get burned.”I heard him unbuckling his pants as his belt came undone. My eyes widened as the cold leather was fastened around my wrists. Vulnerability mocked me.“S-stop!” My anxiousness grew as he chuckled darkly and secured the leather tightly, caging my arms in a place.“Shh…I want you to be quiet. Sun was peeking through the blue sky, a soft ray of sunshine managing to untangle itself from the dark drapes of his cold room as it fell right upon her face. Her skin flowed with the fallen ray as she twisted her face at the sudden attack of light. Xerxes unconsciously raised his hand in the air blocking the notorious beam. His curious harping soft gaze lingered over her features as they softened. Without a doubt, she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, which was a very lousy and lazy way to describe her. There was something moon-soaked and dawn-flavoured about her. Something that kissed his deepest darkest part and meddled with his darkness. Just like these falling rays of sunshine, bussed by the dawn. Suddenly urge to see her big soft brown eyes engulfed him, and Xerxes struggled. His eyes were intensely on her. Taking in her every feature and detail he missed all these times. She was everything he was not and yet he couldn’t express himself. A sigh left his lips. He h

“Xerina! Stop right there! It’s dangerous!” Luca’s shouts filled the air as he chased after me. His voice was irritated and concerned as I laughed and ran through the forest. Jumping over the lodges of wood and hay, I was covered in mud and dirt. Everyone in the pack loved how energetic and relaxed I was even though I was going to get a better earful of scolds from my father later. But now he had gotten quite used to my tactics. “Hurry up, Luca!” I screeched dashing down the muddy road that led to the cave just between the forest. I stopped when my breathing become haggard and I could no longer hear Luca behind me. Where was he? Did I lose him? A grin managed to creep on my face at the thought. Now I would be able to enjoy myself-“Ah!” A scream left my mouth when Luca suddenly jumped in front of me. Faking a startled gasp I narrowed my eyes at him. “You scared me.”“It’s enough, let’s go back.” He panted as he grabbed my wrist and I jerked my hand back. Placing both of my hands on my

There weren’t too many people, but I was so nervous all of sudden. I was mucous since morning, even Aurora had scolded me once in between that I was being paranoid for no reason. Well, damn her. It was not like I was getting married everyday. We had completed our rituals for the ceremony, and now I wa awaiting for my mate to come and take me to our shared chambers to consummate the marriage. I was fidgeting with my fingers when I looked myself in the mirror. Wearing a white wedding dress that reached my ankles and a deep cut over the neck that was decorated with lace. The door opened and I gasped as Xerxes stepped inside wearing his black tuxedo. I blushed. He looked so handsome and beautiful that it was almost unrealistic. I averted my gaze from his with embarrassment as he smirked and stepped forward. “You ready?” He asked in his masculine voice and I shyly nodded. Leaning down to my face, he brushed his lips against my cheek. “I can not wait anymore.” I could senses his arousal. P

“Papa! Papa!” I peered through the kitchen door at my three-year-old running through the lobby and rushing to her father. An unpleased frown on her face as she immediately looked at her father with a pout on her lips. “Luca scolded me.”Faking a frown, my husband scooped the little bundle of joy in his arms and cradled her in his lap. “Why?” He asked wiping the remnants of chocolate on the corner of her lips. Xerina was fond of sweets and probably Luca found her chocolate hiding spot, that’s why he scolded her. Xerina’s eyes visibly narrowed while she glared at her father. “He stole my choci-chose.” She complained and I chuckled knowing I was right. Xerxes’s laugh filled the air and my chest squeezed–as it did every time I saw him with our family. Joy. Unrestrained joy and happiness. I would never tire of seeing him like this. “He did? Where did you get those from?” Xerxes asked shifting her and caressing her stuffed cheeks. She immediately looked away. “I-I…from mama.” My eyes wi

  • ALPHA OF ALPHA'S (XERXES)   Remember

Her life these past years or more had been akin to sprinting through fog. When she often feel to the core of her soul that life was sacred, when she conclude that the natural world was woven into her heart–illusions and diabolical, that their love was all part of this great tapestry of creation, then she would finally be home. Then her Mother Moon would feel that she had returned. Finally in her arms. She loves her children equally. “We haven’t seen Alpha, there’s no sign of either of them,” one of the wolves said through the door. “But wolves are searching for them, the borders are seized.” Marcus bobbed his head and then his eyes moved to the bed. Aurora had gained consciousness a few hours back and on James’s instructions, she had been resting since then. Daniella was traumatised and he suggested she go back, but the little girl was too stubborn, she insisted on being here with her injured brother and Katarina. Katraina. Marcus was worried for her. She had lost so much blood and

“Hold them down!” Marcus growled as he ducked through the hoard of rouges coming his way. He snarled with anger as several of them tried to hold him down. The battlegrounds were bloodied, but it didn’t stop him from shedding more as he tore them limb by limb. Some were in their wolf forms while others were inhuman, Marcus shifted into his wolf form and roared like a wild beast before running through the pile and making his way to the house where he last left Aurora. Aurora. Her name should bring him anger, malice and betrayal, but right now he couldn’t think that way. He should be angry at her that sleeping with another man before him, she gave birth to a pup who didn’t carry his blood, and she spiked their mate bond. But strangely, right now all he cared was about her. Nothing mattered. Nothing. He realised he had been hating her for nothing. He loved her, even knowing she had betrayed him. Their relationship was not that was built upon trust and love, but he could change that. He

“I didn’t want to do this, cupcake. I was getting fond of you.” His hands held onto the thick strand of my story hair and he sniffed it making me cry h my nose in disgust. “But power is power. This is the moment I always dreamed of–to be in charge of power.” I swam for the light and he did everything he could to take me into the abyss. He betrayed me, not the other way around.“Why did you lied to me?” I seethed. His eyes looked mockingly at me. It was fear that brought rage, that hot burning anger that seeked to harm. It was a biological button better left alone. When we see something that frightened us, a primitive part of the brain was activated to produce aggression. So, I, when I see all the things around me that make me scared... I was being deliberately triggered... as were my emotions. That rage destroyed me from the inside.“I never did. I really loved you.” He whispered. “You fucking psycho!” Rage filled my voice and I thrashed. Betrayal was a conscious choice for cold indi

“A-Augustus…” I breathed out stumbling a step back. His blue eyes narrowed as he assessed me with his gaze. Concern was an act of deep and real caring and as such was a marker of our intertwined souls. I sighed in contempt. If he wasn’t here- I didn’t want to think what would have happened to us. “I don’t have time, Katraina. You have to come with me.” He quickly looked around and motioned me to follow him. I gazed at Aurora as she groaned in pain. Leon crying as Daniella looked terrifyingly between us. She was but a child, this must have shocked her to the core. My first reaction should be taking care of my females than fleeing. I shook my head. “I-I can not leave them behind.” Augustus narrowed his eyes. I could see the worry in his eyes, but they seemed somewhat strange. What Madrei told me earlier flooded through my head and I pondered over it once again. It must be Andrei. Did Augustus know? He probably did cause then he wouldn’t be here. But still, something didn’t feel right.

“Katarina…” his voice was as sharp as I last remembered, profound. I just couldn’t believe my eyes. Never before had I noticed how time was so much like water; that it could pass slowly, a drop at a time, even freeze, or rush by in a blink. The clock said it was measured and constant, tick tock, part of an orderly world; the clock lied. “What are you doing here?” My brain stuttered for a moment and my eyes took in more light than I expected, every part of me went on pause while my thoughts caught up. After a wash of reality, I stepped forward, feeling a new danger in my living room. “I need to talk to you, it’s urgent.” He stepped forward, his fists clenched on his sides and a frown resting between his brows. He looked tensed for some reason. I couldn’t believe a man as terrific as him would step foot in here only to talk to his enemy’s mate. I didn’t know much, but Xerxes had filled me with how much dangerous Andrei could be. The man seemed like he breathed in danger and lived on o
