This has to work.

I wait patiently in my room, pacing back and forth insistently. Running through my plan over and over in my head, I think about each word I shared between Damon and Shinee. I asked Damon to my room at the hour, and Shinee just a few minutes later. This could either go exactly to plan or wrong.

All I know is there are a million variables, all of which are too frightening to think about. I'm dealing with two very powerful men, who could react in opposing ways to what I have planned. But right now it's my best option.

Damon walks through the door, making me flinch. I'm not ready for this, for the consequences of what I'm about to do.

"It's no use trying to figure out the extent of Shinee's power. I've been trying for as long as I can remember," he mutters as he walks in, not suspecting anything. I watch him slowly roll up the cuffs of his black shorts, exposing more of his forearm as he does so.
